COMFORT
Fully-folded position F l a p s b e h i n d t h e b e n c h s e a t
Move the corresponding front seat
forward if necessary.
Place the head restraints in the low
position.
Pull control A , to release the seat
back which folds easily onto the
seat cushion.
This manoeuvre is accompanied by an
automatic recoil of the seat cushion.

To put the seat back in position once again:
Move the seat back backwards until
it locks in place.
Position the seat cushion as re-
quired.

A d j u s t i n g t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t s
T h e 1 / 3 - 2 / 3 r e a r b e n c h s e a t i s fi t t e d
with head restraints.
They have a high position (for comfort
and safety) and a low position (for rear
visibility).
They may be removed; to do so:
pull the head restraint upwards as
far as possible,
then, press on the lug A .
When you are carrying rear pas-
sengers, never drive with the head
restraints removed. They must be
secured in place in the high posi-
tion.
When putting back in position, be
careful not to jam the seat belts. E n s u r e t h a t t h e y a r e c o r r e c t l y fi x e d
to the seat back before any ma-
noeuvre.
E a c h fl a p i s fi x e d t o t h e r e a r o f
the seat by two removable plastic
clips.
T o d e t a c h t h e fl a p s f r o m t h e r e a r o f
t h e s e a t b a c k , p r e s s fi r m l y o n t h e
upper part of the two plastic clips,
downwards, to release them.
To avoid any risk of breaking, they
recoil if subjected to excessive
force.

Hooks
The hooks permit the securing of shop-
ping bags. Load space cover
This consists of three sections.
T h e f r o n t s e c t i o n i s fl e x i b l e , a n d t h e
central and rear sections are rigid.
The rear section is secured to the tail-
gate by two cords.
To remove it from the boot:
unhook the two cords,
gently lift up the cover to remove it
f r o m i t s fi x i n g s ,
remove the cover.
It can be stored under the movable boot
fl o o r , i f t h i s i s i n i t s h i g h p o s i t i o n .

The driver must ensure that passen-
gers use the seat belts correctly and
that they are all restrained securely
before setting off.
Wherever you are seated in the
vehicle, always fasten your seat belt,
e v e n f o r s h o r t j o u r n e y s .
Do not invert the seat belt buckles as
t h e y w i l l n o t f u l fi l t h e i r r o l e f u l l y .
T h e s e a t b e l t s a r e fi t t e d w i t h a n
inertia reel permitting automatic
a d j u s t m e n t o f t h e l e n g t h o f t h e s t r a p
to your size. The seat belt is stored
automatically when not in use.
Before and after use, ensure that the
seat belt is rolled up correctly.
The lower part of the strap must be
positioned as low as possible on the
pelvis.
The upper part must be positioned in
the hollow of the shoulder.
T h e i n e r t i a r e e l s a r e fi t t e d w i t h a n
automatic locking device which
comes into operation in the event
of a collision, emergency braking
or if the vehicle rolls over. You can
release the device by pulling rapidly
on the strap and releasing it. In order to be effective, a seat belt:
- must be tightened as close to the
body as possible,
- must restrain one person of adult size only,
- must not bear any trace of cuts or fraying,
- must be pulled in front of you with a smooth movement, checking
that it does not twist,
- must not be transformed or modi- fi e d t o a v o i d a l t e r i n g i t s p e r f o r -
mance.
In accordance with current safety
regulations, all repairs and checks
must be carried out by a CITROËN
dealer who guarantees that the work
is carried out correctly.
Have your seat belts checked regu-
larly by a CITROËN dealer and par-
ticularly if the straps show signs of
damage.
Clean the seat belt straps with soapy
water or a textile cleaning product,
sold by CITROËN dealers.
After folding or moving a seat or rear
bench seat, ensure that the seat belt
is positioned and rolled up correctly. Recommendations for children
Use a suitable child seat if the pas-
senger is less than 12 years old or
s h o r t e r t h a n o n e m e t r e fi f t y .
Never use the same seat belt to
secure more than one person.
Never allow a child to travel on your
lap.
Depending on the nature and
seriousness of the impacts
the
pre-tensioning device may be trig-
gered before and independently of
the air bags. Triggering of the pre-
tensioners is accompanied by a slight
discharge of harmless smoke and a
noise, due to the activation of the
pyrotechnic cartridge incorporated in
the system.
In all cases, the air bag warning light
comes on.
Following an impact, have the seat
belts system checked, and if neces-
sary replaced, by a CITROËN dealer.
