In permanent lighting mode, differ-
ent lighting times are available:
- with the ignition off, approxi-mately ten minutes,
- in energy economy mode, ap- proximately thirty seconds,

with the engine running, unlimited.
Map reading lamps
With the ignition on, press the
corresponding switch. Panoramic sunroof rear
reading lamps (Tourer)
With the key in position or with the
ignition on:
Press the corresponding switch.
The reading lamp concerned comes
on for ten minutes.
The rear reading lamps come on:
- when the key is removed from the ignition,
- when the vehicle is unlocked.
They switch off gradually:
- when the vehicle is locked,
- when the ignition is switched on.

INTERIOR MOOD LIGHTING
Your vehicle is equipped with interior
mood lighting for the centre console
and the door handles. Central console
The lamps are located on the roof
console, near the front interior lamp.
They light up the central console. Lighting for door opening
controls
Operation
These lamps are activated with the
automatic illumination of headlamps,
when the ambient light is poor. They
are deactivated when the instrument
panel is off.
The intensity of the lighting varies
along with that of the instrument
panel.
Press buttons A to increase or re-
duce the intensity of the lighting. They are located on the front and
rear interior door opening controls.
The rear door opening controls light-
ing is deactivated if child safety is
activated.

Pavement lighting
With the door open, this lights up the
ground next to the vehicle.
Floor lighting
In the front of the vehicle, when a
door is opened, this lights up the in-
terior of the vehicle.
The welcome lighting is made up of:

- T h e fl o o r l i g h t i n g .
- The pavement lighting when a
door is open.

Clean the seat belt straps with soapy
w a t e r o r a t e x t i l e c l e a n i n g p r o d u c t ,
sold by CITROËN dealers.
A f t e r f o l d i n g o r m o v i n g a s e a t o r r e a r
b e n c h s e a t , e n s u r e t h a t t h e s e a t b e l t

I f a c o l l i s i o n o c c u r s , t h e e l e c t r o n i c
detectors record and analyse the
f r o n t a n d s i d e i m p a c t s s u s t a i n e d i n
t h e i m p a c t d e t e c t i o n z o n e s :
- i n t h e c a s e o f a s e r i o u s i m p a c t ,
the airbags are triggered instant-
l y a n d p r o t e c t t h e o c c u p a n t s o f
t h e v e h i c l e ( w i t h t h e e x c e p t i o n o f
t h e r e a r c e n t r e p a s s e n g e r ) ; i m -
m e d i a t e l y a f t e r t h e i m p a c t , t h e
a i r b a g s d e fl a t e r a p i d l y s o t h a t
they do not hinder visibility or the
e x i t o f t h e o c c u p a n t s ,
- i n t h e c a s e o f a m i n o r o r r e a r i m p a c t o r i n c e r t a i n r o l l - o v e r
conditions, the airbags will not
be triggered; the seat belt alone
i s s u f fi c i e n t t o p r o v i d e o p t i m u m
p r o t e c t i o n i n t h e s e s i t u a t i o n s .
The airbags do not operate when
the ignition is switched off.
T h i s e q u i p m e n t w i l l o n l y o p e r a t e
o n c e . I f a s e c o n d i m p a c t o c c u r s
( d u r i n g t h e s a m e o r a s u b s e q u e n t
accident), the airbag will not operate. Impact detection zones

s i t i v e i n d i v i d u a l s m a y e x p e r i e n c e
slight irritation.

MANUAL PARKING BRAKE
Mechanical device for immobilising
the vehicle when stationary. This warning lamp comes
on if the parking brake is en-
gaged or not fully released.
If the parking brake is released,
the lighting of this warning lamp
along with the STOP warning lamp
i n d i c a t e s t h a t t h e b r a k e fl u i d l e v e l
is low or a malfunction of the brake
force distributor.
It is essential to stop the vehicle.
Consult a CITROËN dealer.
Application
Pull the parking brake lever up to
immobilise your vehicle.
To facilitate the action on the lever,
you are recommended to press the
brake pedal at the same time.
In all circumstances, as a pre-
cautionary measure, engage
fi r s t g e a r .
On steep gradients, turn the steer-
ing wheel towards the pavement. Release
Press on the end of the lever
whilst pulling it then lower it fully.

Dynamic emergency braking
In the event of a failure of the vehi-
cle’s main braking system or in an
e x c e p t i o n a l s i t u a t i o n ( e . g . d r i v e r t a k -
en ill, under instruction, etc) pull and
hold control A to stop the vehicle.
The electronic stability programme
( E S P ) p r o v i d e s s t a b i l i t y d u r i n g d y -
namic emergency braking.
If the dynamic emergency braking
malfunctions, one of the following
messages will be displayed on the
instrument panel display:
- "Parking brake faulty".
- "Parking brake control faulty". I f a f a i l u r e o f t h e E S P s y s -
tem is signalled by the light-
ing of this warning lamp,
then braking stability is not
guaranteed. In this event, stability
must be assured by the driver by
repeating alternate "pull release" ac-
tions on control A .
The dynamic emergency
braking must only be used in
e x c e p t i o n a l c i r c u m s t a n c e s . Emergency parking brake
release
In the event of the electric parking
brake failing to release, an emer-
gency device can be used to release
the parking brake manually, provid-
ed that it is possible to immobilise
the vehicle while the procedure is
carried out.
If you can start the vehicle: with
the engine running, immobilise
the vehicle by applying the foot
brake while the operation is be-
ing carried out.
If you are unable to start the ve-
h i c l e ( fl a t b a t t e r y f o r e x a m p l e ) : d o
not use this device and contact
a CITROËN dealer. However, if
y o u a r e o b l i g e d t o p r o c e e d , fi r s t
immobilise your vehicle securely
and then follow the instructions
below.
If the vehicle cannot be im-
mobilised, do not operate
the emergency release. Your ve-
hicle may run away on any slope.
Consult a CITROËN dealer.
