BATTERY LOCATION AND ACCESS
The battery is located in the boot under the left hand wing trim. To access the battery, rotate the pin o n t h e fl a p b y a 1 / 4 .
CHANGING THE BATTERY ( C o n t a c t a C I T R O Ë N d e a l e r ) .1. Release the two pins on each side at the back of the boot, and remove t h e b o o t fl o o r .2. O n e a c h s i d e t r i m , r e l e a s e t h e t w o fi x i n g p i n s A.3. Undo the two screws B on each side and remove the sill embellisher.4. On the side trim close to the battery, release the pin D.5. Separate the side trim close to the battery, pulling hard to free the other fi x i n g p o i n t s .6. Unclip the boot lamp C.7. Disconnect both battery terminals.8. Release the battery from its support.9. Remove the battery.
Before changing or repairing the battery, open all four windows.
If you have to unlock your vehicle with the key because of a problem with the battery, any opening/closing of a door with the window closed may seriously damage the glass to the point of breaking it.

STARTING THE ENGINE AFTER DISCONNECTING AND RECONNECTING THE BATTERY1. Turn the ignition key.2. Wait approximately 1 minute before operating the starter in order to allow the electronic systems to re-initialise.
After the battery has been disconnected for a lengthy period o f time, it may be necessary to re-initialise the following functions:The anti-pinch on the windows.
The anti-pinch on the sun roof.
The m u l t i f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y p a r a m e t e r s ( d a t e , t i m e , l a n g u a g e , u n i t s o f d i s t a n c e a n d o f t e m p e r a t u r e ) .The Radio stations.

In the event of a battery failure, and if the boot is closed, it is then necessary to feed an electrical supply to your vehicle. See following page.

T he rec eption qualit y of the radio station being listened to gradually deteriorates.
The vehicle is too distant from the transmitter, or no transmitter is present in the geographical area you are passing th rough.
Activate the RDS function to allow the system to chec k whether a more power ful transmitter is to be found in the geographical area.
The environment (hills, high buildings, tunnels, underground car parks, etc.) is blocking reception, even in RDS mode.This phenomenon is normal and does not imply anythi ng wrong with the radio.
The aerial is absent or has been damaged (for example after going through a car wash or in an underground car park).Have the aerial checked by a CITROËN dealer.
Cutting of sound for 1 to 2 seconds in radio mode.
The RDS system during this brief sound cut- of f is s earching for a better frequency that might of fer improved reception of the station.
Deactivate the RDS function if the phenomenon occur s too frequently and always on the same journey.
When the engine is not running, the radio stops after a few minutes.
When the engine is switched off, the working time for the radio depends on the batter y charge. The interruption is nor mal: the radio goes into economy mode, cutting off in order to save the vehicle’s batter y.
You have to star t the engine so as to increase the bat-ter y charge.
The message “ the audio system is overheating” appears on the screen.
In order to protect the audio equipment in excessiv e ambient temperatures, the radio goes into an automatic thermic protection mode which results in a reduction in sound volume or stopping of the CD player.
Switch off the audio system for a few minutes in order to allow the system to cool down.
Why is one not informed in real time of a hold-up on the route even though t h e o p t i o n f o r g u i d a n c e b y “ t r a f fi c i n f o ” is activated ?
When you star t up, the system takes a few minutes to c apture t h e t r a f fi c i n f o r m a t i o n v i a R D S - T M C . W a i t f o r t h e t r a f fi c i n f o r m a t i o n t o b e s a f e l y r e c e i v e d (pictogrammes displayed on the map) and make sure that you use the major ar terial roads to have “inform ed” navigation.
Only the major ar terial roads (motor ways and some d ual car- r i a g e w a y s ) a r e f e a t u r e d i n R D S - T M C t r a f fi c i n f o r m a t i o n ) .
I t m a y h a p p e n t h a t a h o l d - u p i s n o t r e p o r t e d b y t h e t r a f fi c i n f o provider.
Why is a diversion not suggested when I h a v e s e l e c t e d t r a f fi c i n f o ?
D o n o t c o n f u s e t h e “ t r a f fi c i n f o ” g u i d a n c e o p t i o n w h i c h c a n s u g -gest a diversion (the “diver t” button appears in the w indow) with t h e m e n u s “ D i s p l a y o f t r a f fi c m e s s a g e s ” o r “ R e a d i n g o f t r a f fi c messages” which af fect only the display without recalculating the itinerar y (no “diver t” button in the window).
To have “informed” navigation with the detour proposi-tion, it is essential to activate the guidance option with “ t r a f fi c i n f o ” .
