Monitoring
On switching on, the dial needles go to the extent of their travel then return to 0. A. With the ignition on, the fuel gauge bars for the fuel remaining should light up. B. With the engine running, the associated low level warning lamp should switch off. C. With the ignition on, the oil level indicator should display "OIL OK" for a few seconds. If the levels are not correct, top up the level
which is low.

1. With the ignition on, the orange and red warning lamps come on. 2. With the engine running, these warning lamps should switch off. If a warning lamp remains on, refer to the page concerned.

Operation indicator lamps
If one of the following indicator lamps comes on, this confirms that the corresponding system has come into o peration.
Warning lampis onCauseAction/Obser vations
Left-hand direction indicator flashing with buzzer. The lighting stalk is pushed down.
Right-hand direction indicator flashing with buzzer. The lighting stalk is pushed up.
Sidelamps fixed. The lighting stalk is in the "Sidelamps" position. Turn the control to the desired position.
Dipped beam headlamps fixed. The lighting stalk is in the "Dipped beam headlamps" position. Turn the control to the desired position.
Main beam headlamps fixed. The lighting stalk is pulled towards you. Pull the stalk to return to dipped beam headlamps.
Front foglamps fixed. The front foglamps are switched on. Turn the ring on the stalk rear wards twice to switch off the front foglamps.
Rear foglamps fixed. The rear foglamps are switched on. Turn the ring on the stalk rear wards to switch off the rear foglamps.

Deactivation indicator lamps
If one of the following indicator lamps comes on, this confirms that the corresponding system has been switch ed off intentionally. This is accompanied by an audible signal and a message on the multifunction screen.

Passenger's
airbag system
fixed. The control, located in the glove box,
is set to the OFF position. The passenger's front airbag is deactivated. In this case you can install a "rear facing" child seat.
Set the control to the ON position to activate the
passenger's front airbag. In this case, do not fit a child seat in the rear-facing position. The passenger's airbag system is put into ser vice automatically when the vehicle is star ted ( ON position).
ESP/ASR fixed. The button, located at the bottom left of the dashboard, is pressed. Its indicator lamp is on. The ESP/ASR is deactivated. ESP: electronic stability programme. ASR: anti-skid regulation.
Press the button again to manually reactivate the ESP/ASR. Its indicator lamp switches off. From approximately 30 mph (50 km/h), the system is reactivated automatically (except for the 1.6 litre THP 150 engine). The ESP/ASR system is activated automatically when the vehicle is star ted.

Braking
fixed. The braking system fluid level has
dropped significantly.
Top up with brake fluid recommended by CITROËN.
If the problem persists, have the system checked by a CITROËN dealer.
+ fixed, associated with the ABS warning lamp. The electronic brake force distribution (EBFD) system has a fault. Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer.
Warning lampis onCauseAction/Obser vations
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) fixed. The anti-lock braking system has a fault. The vehicle retains conventional braking. Drive carefully at reduced speed and contact a CITROËN dealer without delay.
Dynamic stability control (ESP/ASR)
flashing. The ESP/ASR regulation is active. The system optimises traction and improves the directional stability of the vehicle.
fixed. Unless it has been deactivated with the indicator lamp on the button on, the ESP/ASR system is faulty.
Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer.

Languages
Once the "Languages" menu has been selected, you can change the language used by the display (Français, Italiano, Nederlands, Por tugues, Por tugues-Brasil, Deutsch, English, Espanol).
Units
Once the "Units" menu has been selected, you can change the units of the following parameters: - temperature (°C or °F), - fuel consumption (l/100 km, mpg or km/l).
Once the fuel consumption units have been set to mpg, the information in the instrument panel screen on speed and distance will also be in mph and miles. For safety reasons, configuration by the driver of the multifunction screen must only be done when stationary.
Display settings
Once the "Display settings" menu has been selected, you can gain access to the following settings: - year, - month, - day, - hour, - minutes, - 12 or 24 hour mode.
Once you have selected a setting, press the " " or " " buttons to change its value.
Press the " " or " " buttons to switch respectively to the previous or next setting. Press the "OK" button to save the change and return to the normal display or press the "ESC" button to cancel.
