Back-up starting with the Keyless Entry and Starting system
When the electronic key is in the defined zone and your vehicle does not start after pressing the "START/STOP" button:  Insert the electronic key in the reader.  Press the brake pedal.  Press the "START/STOP" button. The hybrid system is active.
Back-up switch-off
In the event of an emergency only, the engine can be switched of without any conditions. To
do this, press and hold the "START/STOP" button for about 3 seconds. In this case the steering column locks as soon as the vehicle stops.
Electronic key not recognised by the "Keyless Entry and Starting" system
If the electronic key is no longer in the defined zone when driving or when you (later) request switching off of the hybrid system, a message appears in the instrument panel.
 Press and hold the "START/STOP" button for about 3 seconds if you want to force
switching off of the hybrid system (note that restarting will not be possible without the electronic key in the defined zone).
The electronic key must always remain inside the vehicle when in use.

This system does not work continuously, but adapts the force of the fan cooling to the requirements of the battery. Its operation can be heard at the rear, even if the vehicle is stopped after a run. If the air intake is blocked, the battery may overheat, damaging the battery and causing a loss of per formance of the hybrid system.

Fan cooling of the high voltage battery
For the best use of the high voltage battery, please follow these recommendations: - do not obstruct the air intake with loose articles, otherwise, the battery may overheat, causing a loss of per formance of the hybrid system - do not spill fluids, as this may cause damage to the battery.
The high voltage battery has an air cooling system, comprising an air intake (located on the side of the left hand rear seat) and a fan (located behind the left hand boot trim panel).

The high voltage battery must not in any circumstances be charged from an external source and must only be handled by a workshop technician. There is the risk of serious burns, as well as electric arcs that could cause serious injury or even death. A used Ni-MH (Nickel Metal Hydride) type high voltage battery must be removed in an appropriate manner by a repair workshop, so that its recycling presents no risk to the environment.
High voltage
The voltage used for the operation of the electric motor is in the range 150 to 270 Volts. Be sure to take account of the warning labels fitted to the vehicle. Take great care regarding the high voltage and high temperatures of components carrying the current.
Emergency cut-off
In the event of an accident, a cut-off system blocks the high voltage current and cuts off the fuel pump; your vehicle can no longer be started.
To restart the hybrid system, contact a CITROËN dealer.
High voltage cables are routed under the vehicle (sills); take care not to damage them when the vehicle is used for off-road activity (such as covering rough ground).
Before doing any work on the vehicle, switch off the ignition ( Ready lamp off).

Take care to position lifting equipment ( jack, hoist, ...) at the locations provided to avoid damaging the cables.
Never touch, dismantle, remove or replace the high voltage parts, orange cables or connectors, even in the event of an accident.

flashing. The DSC/ASR regulation is operating. The system optimises traction and improves the directional stability of the vehicle in the event of loss of grip or trajectory.
fixed. The DSC/ASR system has a fault. Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.

Engine autodiagnosis system
flashing. The engine management system has a fault. Risk of destruction of the catalytic converter. Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
fixed. The emission control system has a fault. The warning lamp should go off when the engine is started. If it does not go off, contact a CITROËN dealer or qualified
workshop without delay.

Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
fixed. The anti-lock braking system has a fault. The vehicle retains conventional braking. Drive carefully at reduced speed and contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop without d e l ay.

Braking fixed. The braking system fluid level has dropped significantly. You must stop as soon as it is safe to do so. Top up with brake fluid listed by CITROËN. If the problem persists, have the system checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
+ fixed, associated with the ABS warning lamp.
The electronic brake force distribution (EBFD) system has a fault. You must stop as soon as it is safe to do so. Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.

Service overdue
Every time the ignition is switched on, an overdue service is immediately signaled by flashing of the spanner and the fixed illumination of the Service warning lamp.
The distance remaining may be weighted by the time factor, depending on the driving conditions. Therefore, the spanner may also come on if you have exceeded the period since the last service, indicated in the maintenance and warranty guide .
Following this operation, if you wish to disconnect the battery, lock the vehicle and wait at least five minutes for the zero reset to be taken into account.
5 seconds after the ignition is switched on, the distance recorder resumes its normal operation. The spanner remains on .
Service indicator zero reset
After each service, the service indicator must be reset to zero. The procedure for resetting to zero is as follows:  switch off the ignition,  press and hold the trip distance recorder
zero reset button,  switch on the ignition; the distance recorder display begins a countdown,  when the display indicates "=0" , release the button; the spanner disappears.
Retrieving the service information
You can access the service information at any time.  Press the trip distance recorder zero reset button. The service information is displayed for a few seconds, then disappears.

System for manual adjustment of the brightness of the instruments and controls in relation to the exterior brightness.
Lighting dimmer
Activation
When the lighting is on:
 press the button to change the brightness of the instruments and controls,  when the level of brightness required is reached, release the button.
Deactivation
When the lighting is off, or in day mode on vehicles fitted with daytime running lamps, pressing the button does not have any effect.
The total and trip distances are displayed for thirty seconds when the ignition is switched off, when the driver's door is opened and when the vehicle is locked or unlocked.
Distance recorders
Total distance recorder
System which measures the total distance travelled by the vehicle since its first registration.
To conform to legislation in the country you are crossing, change the units of distance (miles or km) via the configuration menu.
Trip distance recorder
System which measures a distance travelled during a day or other period since it was reset
to zero by the driver.  With the ignition on, press the button until zeros appear.

Clock
The analogue clock does not have an adjustment button. To set the time, refer to the section relating to the screen (audio system) configuration menu. The clock is synchronised with the screen time; once the the setting has been confirmed in the screen, the hands will turn to synchronise with the screen, and each time the ignition is switched on.
Setting the date and time

Press MENU .
Using the arrows, select " Personalisation-configuration " and confirm.
Using the arrows, select " Display configuration " and confirm.
Using the arrows, select " Date and time adjustment " and confirm.
Select the setting to be modified. Confirm by pressing OK , then make the change and confirm again to save the modification.
Adjust the settings one by one, confirming by pressing the OK button. Next select the " OK " tab on the screen then confirm to exit from the " Date and time adjustment " menu.

Press SETUP to display the " Configuration " menu.
Select " Display configuration " and confirm.
Select " Set date and time " and confirm.
Select " Synchronize the minutes with GPS " so that setting the minutes is done automatically by satellite reception.
Adjust the settings one by one.
Then select " OK " on the screen and confirm to save the settings.
The clock, located in the dashboard, is synchronised with the time in the screen. It is set once the time is adjusted using the " SETUP " menu and every time the ignition is switched on.
Select the setting to adjust. Confirm by pressing OK , then adjust the setting and confirm again to save the modification.

Unlocking the vehicle
Complete unlocking Selective unlocking
System which permits central unlocking or locking of the vehicle using the lock or from a distance. It is also used to locate and start the vehicle, as well as providing protection against theft.
This setting is done in the configuration menu. Complete unlocking is activated by default.
Unlocking is confirmed by rapid flashing of the direction indicators for around two seconds. At the same time, depending on version, the door mirrors unfold.
 To unlock only the driver's door, press the open padlock once.
 Press the open padlock to unlock the vehicle.
 To unlock the other doors and the boot, press the open padlock again.

Unlocking the boot Locking the vehicle
Locking is confirmed by fixed lighting of the direction indicators for approximately two seconds. The door mirrors fold at the same time.
 Press the closed padlock to lock the vehicle completely. Hold the button down until the windows close completely.
 Press this button until you hear the boot unlock. The vehicle is completely unlocked.
Be aware of children when operating the windows.
If one of the doors or the boot is not fully closed, locking does not take place. When the vehicle is locked, if it is unlocked inadvertently, it will relock automatically after about thirty seconds unless a door is opened. If the alarm was previously activated, it will not be reactivated automatically.
