Electronic key: Keyless Entry and Starting
This system allows you to unlock, lock and start your vehicle while keeping the key on your person and in the recognition zone around the vehicle.

Unlocking
With the electronic key on your person and in the recognition zone A around the vehicle, pass A around the vehicle, pass Ayour hand behind the door handle to unlock the vehicle, then pull on the handle to open the door.
Locking
With the electronic key in the recognition zone A around the vehicle, press with a finger on the door handle (at the markings) to lock the vehicle.

Sitting comfortably
Head restraint adjustment
1. Release the adjustment mechanism. 2. Adjust for height and reach. 3. Lock the adjustment mechanism.
Steering wheel adjustment
For reasons of safety, these operations must only be carried out with the vehicle stationary.
To lower it, simultaneously press button A and push down on the head restraint. To raise it, guide the head restraint upwards to the desired position. To incline it, swivel the lower part backwards or forwards.

Before starting
- Place the gear selector lever in position N . - If your vehicle has Keyless Entry and Starting, simply having the key inside the vehicle is sufficient. - If not, place the electronic key in the reader.
- Press the brake pedal. - Make a single short press (about a second) on the START/STOP button. - The steering column locks (noticeable noise and movement of the steering wheel). - Keep your foot on the brake pedal until the Hybrid4 system starts up (the instrument panel and the Ready lamp come on, confirmed by an audible signal).

Starting - switching off the engine
The hybrid system determines whether it is necessary to start the Diesel engine.
When your vehicle vehicle moves off
in electric mode, it makes no noise. Be ver y careful of pedestrians and cyclists as they will not hear you coming.

Switching off the Hybrid4
system
- Before switching off the Hybrid4 system, place the gear selector in position N . - Make a short press on the START/STOPbutton. - The system shuts down and the steering column locks. For more information, see the section on "Underbonnet precautions/warnings".
When stationary, switch off the ignition and check that the Ready lamp is off before leaving the vehicle, otherwise the hybrid system will still be active.

Anti-theft protection
Electronic engine immobiliser
The keys contain an electronic chip which has a secret code. When the ignition is switched
on, this code must be recognised in order for starting to be possible. This electronic engine immobiliser locks the engine management system a few minutes after the ignition is switched off and prevents starting of the engine by anyone who does not have the key. In the event of a malfunction, you are informed by a message in the instrument panel screen. In this case, your vehicle does not start; contact a CITROËN dealer as soon as possible.
Ignition on without
starting
With the electronic key in the reader or the Keyless Entry and Starting key inside the vehicle, pressing the "START/STOP" button, with no action on the pedals , allows the ignition to be switched on.
 Press the "START/STOP" button, the instrument panel comes on but the engine does not start.  Press the button again to switch off the ignition and so allow the vehicle to be locked.
With the ignition on, the system goes into energy economy mode when necessary to maintain the state of charge of the battery.
