Holding with one hand the fix part ( 4) dismount the lighter attachment clamp ( 5) on the lower
part dashboard. Extract the lighter fix body (part).
REMOU NT I NG
Position the lighter fix body in the dashboard lower part. Holding with one hand the fix body,
mount the lighter attachmen t clamp. The required tightening moment is 1.5 Nm applied to the fix
body (4). Connect the lighter connectors, observing their mounting position existent prior to dismount-
ing. Mount the upper part dashboard.
Reconnect the battery (-) terminal.
Check the operation of the electric lighter.
REMARK:
In order to replace the bulb, dismount the lighter, dismount the bulb holder (6) from

Airbag - General
IMPORTANT!
All intervention on the airbag system
may be performed only by qualified staff.
The Dacia SOLENZ A vehi c les a re
equipped with a pa ssive securi ty system
composed of: -a driver frontal airbag with an inflata bl e
bag, -UCE airba g mounted in t he c entral
console tunnel.
In case of a front impact strong e nough,
theUCE airbag is releasing the airbag, which
is inflating in the steering wheel central part,
protecting in this way the driver’s face. The airbag is not reacting at decelerations
in t he dri ving di rection. A side impact or a
rollover may not lead to the airbag releasing. The vehicle projection energy is
transformed i nto distort ion energy of the
vehicle front part. The higher deceleration is,
the smaller vehicle distortion is, and the airbag
is quicker releasing.
The minimal speed at which the airbag is
releasing is increasing, a s the i mpact angle
between the vehicles is higher. If in case of a front al impact there are no
distortions in front of the front pedals support or
engine-frame impact, non-releasing of the airbag
is not to be considered an operation incident,
the releasing speed not being reached. By e xpe ri e nce, t he spe edome ter i s not
showing correctly the impact speed, this being,
generally, smaller t han the cruising speed had
before the impact.
A vehicle equipped with driver airbag is to be
identified by the marking “Airbag” from the
steering wheel pillow and a sticker placed on the
windscre en left side.
AT T E N T I ON !
Because the UCE airbag, steering wheel
airbag and the shock sensor are containing
se nsitive components, t hese are t o be shock-
proofed during their handling.
At every windscreen replacement, the sticker
mentioning that vehicle is equipped with airbag
is to be placed on the windscreen.

tester.
The driver’s airbag is located in the steering
wheel pillow. The driver’s airbag is composed of: -an inflatable pillow
-a pyrotechnic gas generator with a n
igniter.
These elements can not be separated.
REMARK:
When the airbag is released, the
steering wheel cover is broken. The airbag indicator from the instrument
panel is controlling the good operation of the
driver’s airbag. REMARK:
The system is operational only after
settin g the contact on.
A vehicle equipped with driver’s airbag is
to be i dentifi ed by the inscription “Airbag”
from the steering wheel central pillow.
DISMOUNTIN G
AT T E N T ION!
It is forbidden the pyrotechnic system
handling near heating sources or open
fire because of risk of the s ystem
undesirable releasing.
OBSERVAT ION
Before dism ounting the airbag pillow,
bloc the UCE airbag by means of the CLIP
tester (see “Blocking UCE airbag”. When
this function i s active, al l t ransmitting lines
of the releasing signal are inhibited. The
airbag indicator from the instrument panel
is on.
IMP ORTANT:
Before di smounting the steering wheel, i t
is necessary the di sconnecting of t he airbag
connector (1). OBSERVAT ION
The driver’s airbag pillow is provided with
a connector that is short-circui ting after
disconne ctin g the wiring conn ector,
avoiding in this way all undesi rable
r eleasing.
REMARK:
After releasing, UCE airbag is
automatically blocking all releasing lines.
DISMOUNTING OF THE DRIVER’S AIRBAG
Set the contact off
Dismount the two attachment screws located
under steering wheel, attaching the airbag pillow. Disconnect the airbag connector.
IMP ORTANT:
After airbag pillow replacement
considered discard bu t not tripped, its
destroying procedure is to be imposed (see
chapter “Destroying procedure”).
R EMOU NT I NG
Check if th e airba g indicator fro m the
instrument panel is on with the contact set on. Conne c t the i ne rt i gni ter t o the airba g
connector (t o wiring) and check if the airbag
indicator is off. Set th e contact off, connect the airba g
connector instead of the inert igniter (check the
correct connection of the connector).
