The yellow engine oil level
warning lamp lights up, the HI
engine oil level message
appears in the display and
the warning buzzer sounds
after the engine is started or
while the vehicle is in mo-
tion.
The engine oil level has exceeded the maximum lev-
el.
\1Check the engine oil level and have any
excess oil siphoned off at the nearest
refueling station (\2page 328).
The engine or the catalytic converter could
be damaged.
\1If the oil level is correct, have the mal-
function rectified as soon as possible at
an authorized Sprinter Dealer.

in motion.
The engine oil level indicator is malfunctioning.
\1Have the vehicle checked immediately

the engine is running.
The coolant level is too low.
Never run the engine if the coolant level is too low.
The engine could overheat and be damaged.
\1Stop at the earliest opportunity.
\1Switch off the engine to cool down.
\1Check the coolant level and add coolant
as necessary (\2page 329).
\1If you are having to add coolant fre-
quently, have the cooling system
checked at an authorized Sprinter Deal-
er.

The red coolant warning
lamp lights up while the en-
gine is running.
The coolant temperature is too high.
\1Do not drive any further.
\1Consult an authorized Sprinter Dealer.
If the vehicle is switched off after being sub-
jected to extreme loads (for example driving
in mountainous terrain, trailer towing, etc.),
the coolant warning lamp may light up when
the ignition is switched on or the engine is
restarted. Run the engine for approximately
1 minute at idling speed.
Consult an authorized Sprinter Dealer if the
coolant warning lamp remains lit.

The yellow reserve fuel
warning lamp lights up while
the vehicle is in motion.
The fuel level has fallen into the reserve range.
\1Refuel at the nearest refueling station
(\2page 316).

still fuel in the tank.
The fuel filler cap is not closed.
\1Close the fuel filler cap. A clicking
sound indicates that the fuel filler cap is
closed.
\1If the malfunction continues to be indi-
cated, have it rectified immediately at
an authorized Sprinter Dealer.

The yellow preglow indicator
lamp lights up while the en-
gine is running.
There is a malfunction in the preglow system.

The TPMS detects a loss of pressure in at least
one tire.
\1Carefully bring the vehicle to a halt,
avoiding abrupt steering and braking
maneuvers. Observe the traffic situa-
tion around you.
\1Read and observe messages in the mul-
tifunction display.
If the tire inflation pressure in the respec-
tive tire(s) has (have) been corrected, the
combination low tire pressure/TPMS mal-
function telltale goes out after a few min-
utes of driving.

Changing bulbs

\3 Changing bulbsBulbs and lights are an important aspect
of vehicle safety. For this reason, make
sure that all bulbs are in working order at
all times.\4
Switch off the lights to avoid a short
circuit.
\4
Only touch new bulbs with a clean
lint-free cloth or something similar.
Do not work with wet or greasy fin-
gers.
\4
Only fit 12 V bulbs of the same type
as before and of the correct wattage.
\4
Have the headlamp setting checked
regularly.
\4
If the newly installed bulb does not
light up either, visit an authorized
Sprinter Dealer.

Have the following LEDs and bulbs
changed at an authorized Sprinter

The additional turn signals in the
exterior mirrors

The third brake lamp (cargo and
passenger vans only)*

The bi-xenon headlamps*

Before changing bulbs
Warning

Bulbs and bulb holders can become very
hot. For this reason, allow the light to cool
down before changing the bulb.
Keep bulbs out of the reach of children.
Never use a bulb which has been dropped.
Such a bulb may explode and injure you.
H7 bulbs are pressurized and may ex-
plode when changed. You should there-
fore wear eye protection and gloves when
you are changing them.
