CLIMATE CONTROL
(COOLING)
To cool the air in the passenger
compartment quickly, the vehicle
features a climate control system.
Proceed as indicated below:
1) Air temperature knob A:
indicator on blue section (turned
to the far left).
2) Fan knob C turned to fourth
speed, indicator at 4 -.
3) Cursor B: at v
4) Air distribution knob D: indicator
at
¥; check that all diffusers are
open.
5) Climate control: press knob C.To assist the process of cooling the
air in the passenger compartment,
especially when the vehicle has been
parked in the sun, lower the
windows on the doors for a
maximum of 2 or 3 minutes, so that
air is exchanged with the outside.
To regulate cooling: move the air
recirculation cursor to
¶, increase
the temperature and decrease the
fan speed.
HEATING
For heating and ventilation functions,
do not activate climate control.
Instead, use the normal heating and
ventilation system (see previous
section).FAST DEMISTING AND/OR
DEFROSTING
The climate control system is very
useful for speeding up demisting
since it dehumidifies the air.
Simply adjust the controls as
appropriate for demisting and
activate the climate control, by
pressing knob C.
Windscreen and side windows
1) Climate control: press knob C.
2) Air temperature knob: indicator
on red section (turned to the far
right) on cold days or on blue
section (turned to the far left) on
hot days.
3) Fan cursor: indicator on
maximum speed.
4) Air distribution knob: indicator
on -.
5) Air recirculation deactivated,
cursor at ¶.

IMPORTANT With the air
distribution knob at -air also
comes out of the central and side
diffusers. To optimise demisting
/defrosting (also on side windows)
stop the air flow at the central
diffusers (specific control knob
turned down to
Op) and open the
side diffusers (specific control knob
turned up to
¥).
After demisting, operate the
controls to maintain optimum
visibility conditions.
EXTERIOR LIGHTS
The left stalk operates most of the
external lights.
The ignition key has to be at MAR
for the exterior lights to switch on.
The instrument panel and the
various dashboard controls will
switch on with the external lights.

DIRECTION
INDICATORS fig. 61
Up = right indicator.
Down = left indicator.
The
¥or Îwarning light flashes on
the instrument panel.
The direction indicators are
switched off automatically when the
steering wheel is straightened.
If you want the indicator to flash
briefly to show that you are about
to change lane, turning the wheel
only slightly, move the stalk up or
down without clicking into position
(unstable position).
When released the stalk will return
to its initial position.“FOLLOW ME
HOME” DEVICE fig. 62
This device lights up the space in
front of the vehicle for a short time.
Activation
With ignition key at STOP or
removed, pull the stalk towards the
steering wheel and move it within
2 minutes after the engine stops.
Each time the stalk is moved, the
lights stay on for a further 30
seconds up to a maximum of 210
seconds; then the lights are switched
off automatically.
The display shows the time set.Deactivation
Pull the lever towards the steering
wheel for more than 2 seconds or
turn the key to MAR in the ignition
switch.

WINDOW CLEANING
The right stalk fig. 63 controls
windscreen wiper/washer and
heated rear window wiper/washer
operation.
WINDSCREEN
WASHER/WIPER
This operates only with the ignition
key turned to MAR.
The stalk has five different positions
(4 speed levels):
0 windscreen wiper off.
1 intermittent operation.
2 continuous slow operation.3 continuous fast operation.
4 temporary fast operation
(unstable position).
Temporary fast operation lasts as
long as you manually keep the stalk
in that position.
The lever returns to position 0
when it is released, automatically
stopping the windscreen wipers.
Windscreen wiper speed
reduction according to vehicle
speed (for versions/markets,
where provided)
On some versions, when
decelerating until the vehicle stops,
the windscreen wiper will slow
down automatically by one level.
The speed will be resumed
automatically when the vehicle speed
exceeds 10 km/h. It is possible to
manually change the windscreen
wiper speed at any time.

“Smart washing” function
Pull the stalk towards the steering
wheel (unstable position) to operate
the windscreen washer.
Keep the lever pulled to activate
both the windscreen washer jet and
the windscreen wiper with a single
movement; the latter turns on
automatically if you keep the lever
pulled for more than half a second.
The windscreen wiper stops
operating a few strokes after
releasing the stalk; a further
“cleaning stroke”, after a few
seconds, completes the wiping
operation.

Do not use the
windscreen wipers to
remove layers of snow
or ice from the windscreen. In
these conditions, the windscreen
wipers may be submitted to
excessive effort resulting in the
motor protection cutting in and
wiper operation being inhibited
for a few seconds. If operation is
not subsequently restored,
contact a Fiat Dealership.

CONTROLS
HAZARD WARNING
LIGHTS fig. 64
They are turned on by pressing
switch A, regardless of the position
of the ignition key.
With the device activated, the
switch flashes and the warning
lights flash on the instrument panel
at the same time.
To switch off, press the switch again.The use of hazard
warning lights is
governed by the highway code
of the country you are in.
Drivers must therefore comply
with the regulations that the
code contains.

They only operate with ignition key

When a function is activated, the
appropriate warning light switches

Rear fog lights
Switch A: to activate these lights, the
dipped headlights and/or front fog
lights must be switched on. The rear
fog lights are deactivated when the
ignition key is turned to STOP.
If they are required when the vehicle
is next started, they must be
reactivated.
Fog lights
Switch B: to activate these lights, the
external lights must be switched on
(not the main beam headlights). The
front fog lights are deactivated when
the ignition key is turned to STOP.
If they are required when the vehicle
is next started, they must be
reactivated.Driving lights
Switch C. To activate these lights,
the mean beam headlights must be
switched on. The driving lights are
deactivated when the ignition key is
turned to STOP.
If they are required when the vehicle
is next started, they must be
reactivated.

FUEL CUT-OFF
SWITCH fig. 66
This is a safety switch that is tripped
in the event of impact, cutting off the
fuel supply, thereby causing the
engine to stop.

If, after a collision, you
smell fuel or notice
leaks from the fuel system, do
not reset the switch to avoid
the risk of fire.
WARNING
INTERNAL FEATURES
GLOVE COMPARTMENT

To open, pull grip A. On some
versions, when the glove
compartment opens the internal
lighting switches on. Some versions
feature an upper compartment. To
open press button B. If no fuel leaks are detected and the
vehicle can be started again, press
button A to reactivate the fuel
system.
After a collision, remember to turn
the ignition key to STOP to prevent
battery from running down.
Do not travel with the
glove box open: it could
injure the passenger in the
event of an accident.

GLASSES HOLDER fig. 68
For some versions, there is a glasses
holder on the driver side door. To
open, operate in the direction of the
arrow as illustrated.
FRONT ROOF LIGHTS

The roof light is switched on using
the lens, as follows:
pressed to 1: off;
normal position: switches on when a
door is opened;
pressed to 2: always onWith switches

The roof light switches on in 2
different situations according to the
position of switch A:
1: always on (ON) even with doors
closed;
2: switches on when a door is
opened;
3: always off (OFF).
Spot light
Switch B controls the spot light,
depending on the position:
1: spot light on (ON);
2: spot light off (OFF).Roof light timing
On some versions, to facilitate
getting into/out of the vehicle,
especially at night or with poor
lighting, 2 different timing modes are
available.
Entrance timing
The roof lights switch on as follows:
– for a period of 15 seconds when
the front doors are unlocked;
– for a period of 3 minutes when
one of the doors is opened;

– for a period of 7 seconds when
one of the doors is closed
(within 3 minutes).
The timed period is interrupted if
the ignition is turned to MAR.
Exit timing
After removing the key from the
ignition switch, the roof lights switch
on as follows:
– for a period of 3 minutes within 2
minutes of the engine stopping;
– for a period of 3 minutes when
one of the doors is opened;
– for a period of 7 seconds when
one of the doors is closed (within
3 minutes).
Timing will stop automatically when
the doors are locked.REAR ROOF LIGHT fig. 71

The rear roof light is switched on
using the lens, as follows:
pressed to 1: off;
normal position: switches on when a
door is opened;

This is present only on certain
versions and operates when the
ignition key is turned to MAR.
To use, lift cap A.
It can be used with devices /
accessories with a maximum power
of 180 W.
Before connecting any
electrical accessories,
contact a Fiat Dealership to
check whether this is possible.

If the power socket is
used as a cigar lighter,
remember that it reaches high
temperatures. Handle with
care and make sure that
children don’t touch it: risk of
fire and burns.

After using the cigar
lighter, always make
sure that it is deactivated.

version and is housed in the central
tunnel.

They are located at the sides of the
interior rear view mirror. They can
be adjusted forwards and sideways.
Depending on the version,
document holder A and mirror B
are on the back of the driver side
sun visor; a courtesy mirror is
applied to the back of the passenger
side sun visor.
