WARNING: Always make sure yourchild is secured properly in a device thatis appropriate for their height, age andweight. Child safety restraints must bebought separately from your vehicle.Failure to follow these instructions andguidelines may result in an increased riskof serious injury or death to your child.
WARNING: All children are shapeddifferently. The National Highway TrafficSafety Administration and other safetyorganizations, base theirrecommendations for child restraints onprobable child height, age and weightthresholds, or on the minimumrequirements of the law. We recommendthat you check with a NHTSA CertifiedChild Passenger Safety Technician(CPST) to make sure that you properlyinstall the child restraint in your vehicleand that you consult your pediatrician tomake sure you have a child restraintappropriate for your child. To locate achild restraint fitting station and CPST,contact NHTSA toll free at1-888-327-4236 or go towww.nhtsa.dot.gov. In Canada, contactTransport Canada toll free at1-800-333-0371 or go to www.tc.gc.cato find a Child Car Seat Clinic in yourarea. WARNING: On hot days, thetemperature inside the vehicle can risevery quickly. Exposure of people oranimals to these high temperatures foreven a short time can cause death orserious heat related injuries, includingbrain damage. Small children areparticularly at risk.
WARNING: Do not place arearward facing child restraint in front ofan active airbag. Failure to follow thisinstruction could result in personal injuryor death.
WARNING: Properly securechildren 12 years old and under in a rearseating position whenever possible. Ifyou are unable to properly secure allchildren in a rear seating position,properly secure the largest child on thefront seat. If you must use a forwardfacing child restraint on the front seat,move the seat as far back as possible.Failure to follow these instructions couldresult in personal injury or death.
WARNING: Always carefully followthe instructions and warnings providedby the manufacturer of any childrestraint to determine if the restraintdevice is appropriate for your child's size,height, weight, or age. ADJUSTING THE STEERING
WHEEL
WARNING: Do not adjust thesteering wheel when your vehicle ismoving.
Note: Make sure that you are sitting in thecorrect position. See Sitting in the CorrectPosition (page 127).
1.Unlock the steering column.
2.Adjust the steering wheel to theposition you prefer.
3.Lock the steering column.
HORN
Press on the center of thesteering wheel near the horn iconto activate the horn.
SWITCHING THE HEATED
STEERING WHEEL ON AND OFF
(IF EQUIPPED)
To activate the heated steeringwheel, press the button on theclimate control unit.
On some vehicles, an indicator on thebutton illuminates when the heatedsteering wheel is on.
Note:A sensor regulates the temperatureof the steering wheel.

REPLACING THE REAR WIPER
BLADES
1.Lift the wiper arm.
Note:Do not hold the wiper blade to lift thewiper arm.
2.Remove the wiper blade.
Note:Make sure that the wiper arm doesnot spring back against the glass when thewiper blade is not attached.
3.To install, reverse the removalprocedure.
Note:Make sure that the wiper blade locksinto place.
WASHERS
WASHER PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: If you operate yourvehicle in temperatures below 41°F(5°C), use washer fluid with antifreezeprotection. Failure to use washer fluidwith antifreeze protection in coldweather could result in impairedwindshield vision and increase the riskof injury or accident.
Do not operate the washers when thewasher reservoir is empty. This could causethe washer pump to overheat.
Keep the outside of the windshield clean.The rain sensor is very sensitive and thewipers may operate if dirt, mist or insectshit the windshield.
USING THE WINDSHIELD WASHER
Press and hold the button at theend of the lever to operate thewindshield washer.
Note:A courtesy wipe occurs a short timeafter the wipers stop to clear any remainingwasher fluid when switched on. SeeSwitching the Courtesy Wipe On and Off(page 93).

SWITCHING CLIMATE CONTROLAUTO MODE ON AND OFF
1.Using the information display controlson the steering wheel, select Settings.
2.Select Vehicle.
3.Select Remote Start.
4.Select Climate Control.
5.Switch Auto on or off.
Note:If you switch the auto mode on, thesystem attempts to heat or cool the interiorto 72°F (22°C).
Note:When you switch the ignition on, theclimate control system returns to the lastused settings.
Note:The heated windshield, heated rearwindow, heated mirrors, heated seats andheated steering wheel could turn on in coldweather.

Note:Recirculated air may turn offautomatically, or prevent you from switchingon in all air flow modes except MAX A/C toreduce the risk of fogging. Recirculation mayalso turn on and off automatically in variousair distribution control combinations toimprove heating or cooling efficiency.
SWITCHING AIR
CONDITIONING ON AND OFF
Press the button.
Note:Under certain conditions, the airconditioning compressor could continue tooperate after you switch air conditioning off.
Note:To keep the system and itscomponents fully functional, switch airconditioning on and let your vehicle idle atleast once per month for a minimum of twominutes.
SWITCHING MAXIMUM
DEFROST ON AND OFF
Press the button.
Air flows through the windshield air vents,the temperature is set to the highestsetting, and the blower motor adjusts tothe highest speed.
You can also use this setting to defog andclear the windshield of a thin covering ofice.
Note:To prevent window fogging, youcannot select recirculated air whenmaximum defrost is on.
Note:The heated rear window and heatedmirrors also turn on when you selectmaximum defrost.
Note:When maximum defrost is on, the airconditioning compressor may continue tooperate even though you switch off the A/C.
SWITCHING MAXIMUM
COOLING ON AND OFF
Press the button.
Air flows through the instrument panel airvents, the temperature is set to the lowestsetting, and the blower motor adjusts tothe highest speed.
Note:When you switch maximum coolingoff, air conditioning remains on.
