WARNINGS
Secure children that are lessthan 150 centimetres tall or lessthan 12 years of age in a suitable,approved child restraint, in the rearseat.

Read and follow themanufacturer’s instructionswhen you are fitting a child restraint.
Do not modify child restraints inany way.
Do not hold a child on your lapwhen the vehicle is moving.
Do not leave unattendedchildren in your vehicle.
WARNINGS
If your vehicle has been involvedin an accident, have the childrestraints checked by properlytrained technicians.
Note:Mandatory use of childrestraints varies from country tocountry.
A choice of ECE approved childrestraints which have beenspecifically tested and approved foryour vehicle are available from yourDealer.
Child restraints for differentmass groups
Use the correct child restraint asfollows:
Baby safety seat
Secure children that weigh less than13 kilogrammes in a rearward facingbaby safety seat in the rear seat.

Your vehicle has been equipped withISOFIX attachments. Your FordDealer will be pleased to make themaccessible.
The ISOFIX system consists of tworigid latching arms on the child seat,which attach to anchor points at thebase of the vehicle seat back. Whenmade available by your Ford Dealer,the two lower anchor points may befound in the rear seating rows andare labelled with a circular pictogramand the word ISOFIX.
The funnel guides enable the latchingarms of an ISOFIX child seat to beeasily and securely attached.
ISOFIX child seats not approved byFord have not been validated byFord, and neither the safety nor thesuitability of such seats can becertified, whether installed using theISOFIX system or the normal seatbelts.
Attaching child safety seatswith top tethers
WARNINGS
Attach the tether strap only tothe appropriate tether anchoras shown. The tether strap may notwork properly if attached somewhereother than the correct tether anchor.
Ford does not recommend theuse of an ISOFIX system withoutthe use of an anti-rotation device,such as a top tether anchor orsupport leg, correctly installed.
There is a risk of death orserious injury when themanufacturers instructions are notfollowed properly or when the childrestraint is modified in any way.

The top tether anchors in your vehicleare located on the floor of theluggage compartment.
The tether strap should be routedbeneath the raised rear headrestraint, to the anchor point on thefloor of the luggage compartment.The anchor point is identified by apictogram.
After installing the child safety seat,tighten the tether strap according tothe manufacturer’s instructions.

SEAT BELT HEIGHT
ADJUSTMENT
Press the locking control on theheight adjuster and move the pivotso that the belt rests across thecentre of the shoulder.
Lifting the slider slightly while pressingthe locking control makes it easier torelease the locking mechanism.
USING SEAT BELTS
DURING PREGNANCY
WARNING
Position the seat belt correctlyfor your safety and that of yourunborn child. Do not use only the lapstrap or the shoulder strap.
Position the lap strap comfortablyacross your hips and low beneathyour pregnant abdomen. Position theshoulder strap between your breasts,above and to the side of yourpregnant abdomen.
DISABLING THE

WARNING
Make sure that the passengerairbag is disabled when using arearward facing child restraint on thefront passenger seat.

WARNING
If you need to fit a child restrainton a seat protected by anoperational airbag in front of it, havea passenger airbag deactivationswitch fitted. Ask your dealer forfurther information.
Note:The key switch is located inthe glove compartment with anairbag deactivation lamp in theinstrument panel.
If the airbag warning lamp illuminatesor flashes when you are driving, thisindicates a malfunction. SeeWarning lamps and indicators(page 90). Remove the child restraintand have the system checkedimmediately.
Disabling the passengerairbag

Turn the switch to position A.
When you switch the ignition on,check that the passenger airbagdeactivation warning lamp illuminates.
Enabling the passengerairbag
WARNING
Make sure that the passengerairbag is enabled when you arenot using a child restraint on the frontpassenger seat.
Turn the switch to position B.
