2. Close the window a third time to thepoint of resistance. The bounce-backfeature is now disabled and you canclose the window manually. Thewindow will go past the point ofresistance and you can close it fully.
See an authorized dealer as soon aspossible if the window does not close afterthe third attempt.
Resetting the Bounce-Back Feature
WARNING
The bounce-back feature remainsturned off until you reset thememory.
If you have disconnected the battery, youmust reset the bounce-back memoryseparately for each window.
1. Lift and hold the switch until thewindow is fully closed.
2. Release the switch.
3. Lift the switch again for one moresecond.
4. Press and hold the switch until thewindow is fully open.
5. Release the switch.
6. Lift and hold the switch until thewindow is fully closed.
7.Open the window and then try to closeit automatically.
8. Reset and repeat the procedure if thewindow does not close automatically.
Accessory Delay (If Equipped)
You can use the window switches forseveral minutes after you switch theignition off or until you open either frontdoor.
GLOBAL OPENING
You can use the remote control to operatethe windows with the ignition off.
Note:To operate this feature, accessorydelay must not be active.
Opening the Windows
You can use the global opening feature toopen the windows only for a short timeafter you unlock your vehicle by using theremote control.
To use the global opening feature:
1. Press and release the remote controlunlock button.
2.Press the remote control unlock buttonagain and hold it for approximatelythree seconds. Release the controlwhen the windows begin to open.
3.Press the lock or unlock button on yourremote control to stop the windowopening function.
Note:Contact an authorized Ford dealer todeactivate this feature.

5. Direct the outer instrument panel airvents toward the side windows.
6. To increase the airflow to the outerinstrument panel vents, close the airvents in the middle of the instrumentpanel and in the rear of the centerconsole.
HEATED WINDOWS AND
MIRRORS
Note:Make sure the engine is runningbefore operating the heated windows.
Heated Rear Window
The heated rear window buttonis below the climate control unit.
Press the button to clear theheated rear window of thin ice and fog.The heated rear window will automaticallyturn off after a short period of time.
Note: Do not use razor blades or othersharp objects to clean or remove decalsfrom the inside of the heated rear window.The vehicle warranty does not coverdamage caused to the heated rear windowgrid lines.
Heated Exterior Mirrors (If Equipped)
When you switch the heated rear windowon, the heated exterior mirrors willautomatically turn on.
Note:Do not remove ice from the mirrorswith a scraper or adjust the mirror glasswhen it is frozen in place.
Note:Do not clean the mirror housing orglass with harsh abrasives, fuel or otherpetroleum-based cleaning products.
CABIN AIR FILTER
Your vehicle is equipped with a cabin airfilter, which gives you and your passengersthe following benefits:
•It improves your driving comfort byreducing particle concentration.
•It improves the interior compartmentcleanliness.
•It protects the climate controlcomponents from particle deposits.
Your cabin air filter is located under theinstrument panel in the passenger footwellarea.
Note:Make sure you have a cabin air filterinstalled at all times. This prevents foreignobjects from entering the system. Runningthe system without a filter in place couldresult in degradation or damage to thesystem.
Replace the filter at regular intervals. SeeMaintenance (page 218).
For additional cabin air filter information,or to replace the filter, see an authorizeddealer.
REMOTE START (If Equipped)
The remote start feature allows you topre-condition the interior of your vehicle.The climate control system works toachieve comfort according to your previoussettings.
Note:You cannot adjust the system duringremote start operation.
Turn the ignition on to return the systemto its previous settings. You can now makeadjustments normally, but you need to turncertain vehicle-dependent features backon, such as:
•Heated seats.
•Cooled seats.

You can adjust the default remote startsettings using the information displaycontrols. See Information Displays(page 93).
Automatic Settings
In hot weather, the system is set to 72°F(22°C). The cooled seats are set to high(if available, and selected to AUTO in theinformation display).
In moderate weather, the system eitherheats or cools (based on previoussettings). The rear defroster, heatedmirrors and heated seats do notautomatically turn on.
In cold weather, the system is set to 72°F(22°C). The heated seats are set to high(if available, and selected to AUTO in theinformation display). The rear defrosterand heated mirrors automatically turn on.

WARNINGS
Make sure that the garage door andsecurity device are free fromobstruction when you areprogramming. Do not program the systemwith the vehicle in the garage.
Do not use the system with anygarage door opener that does nothave the safety stop and reversefeature as required by U.S. Federal SafetyStandards (this includes any garage dooropener manufactured before April 1, 1982).A garage door opener which cannot detectan object, signaling the door to stop andreverse, does not meet current federalsafety standards. Using a garage dooropener without these features increasesthe risk of serious injury or death.
Note:Make sure you keep the originalremote control transmitter for use in othervehicles as well as for future systemprogramming.
Note:We recommend that upon the saleor lease termination of your vehicle, youerase the programmed function buttons forsecurity reasons. See Erasing the FunctionButton Codes.
Note:You can program a maximum ofthree devices. To change or replace any ofthe three devices after it has been initiallyprogrammed, you must first erase thecurrent settings. See Erasing the FunctionButton Codes.
The universal garage door opener replacesthe common hand-held garage dooropener with a three-button transmitterthat is integrated into the driver’s sun visor.
The system includes two primary features,a garage door opener and a platform forremote activation of devices within thehome. As well as being programmed forgarage doors, the system transmitter canbe programmed to operate entry gateoperators, security systems, entry doorlocks and home or office lighting.

POST-CRASH ALERT SYSTEM
The system flashes the direction indicatorsand sounds the horn (intermittently) in theevent of a serious impact that deploys anairbag (front, side, side curtain or SafetyCanopy) or the safety belt pretensioners.
The horn and indicators will turn off when:
•You press the hazard control button.
•You press the panic button on theremote entry transmitter (if equipped).
•Your vehicle runs out of power.

may be found on either the SafetyCompliance Certification Label(affixed to either the door hingepillar, door-latch post, or the dooredge that meets the door-latchpost, next to the driver's seatingposition), or the Tire Label whichis located on the B-Pillar or edgeof the driver’s door. If thisinformation is not found on theselabels then you should contactyour authorized dealer as soon aspossible. Use of any tire or wheelnot recommended by Ford canaffect the safety and performanceof your vehicle, which could resultin an increased risk of loss ofvehicle control, vehicle rollover,personal injury and death.Additionally the use ofnon-recommended tires andwheels could cause steering,suspension, axle, transfer case orpower transfer unit failure. If youhave questions regarding tirereplacement, contact yourauthorized dealer as soon aspossible.
To reduce the risk of seriousinjury, when mountingreplacement tires and wheels, youshould not exceed the maximumpressure indicated on the sidewallof the tire to set the beads withoutadditional precautions listedbelow. If the beads do not seat atthe maximum pressure indicated,re-lubricate and try again
WARNINGS
When inflating the tire formounting pressures up to 20 psi(1.38 bar) greater than themaximum pressure on the tiresidewall, the followingprecautions must be taken toprotect the person mounting thetire:
1. Make sure that you have thecorrect tire and wheel size.
2. Lubricate the tire bead andwheel bead seat area again.
3. Stand at a minimum of 12 feet(3.66 meters) away from thewheel and tire assembly.
4. Use both eye and earprotection.
For a mounting pressure morethan 20 psi (1.38 bar) greater thanthe maximum pressure, a Forddealer or other tire serviceprofessional should do themounting.
Always inflate steel carcass tireswith a remote air fill with theperson inflating standing at aminimum of 12 feet (3.66 meters)away from the wheel and tireassembly
Important: Remember to replacethe wheel valve stems when the
road tires are replaced on yourvehicle
