Closing Your Flip Key
Press and hold the round button on theremote control to fold the key blade whennot in use.
REMOVING THE KEY BLADE
Push the release button on your passivekey and pull the key blade out.
SOUNDING THE PANIC ALARM
Press the button to sound thepanic alarm. Press the buttonagain, or switch the ignition onto turn it off.
Note:The panic alarm only operates whenthe ignition is off.
LOCATING YOUR VEHICLE
Press the lock button twicewithin three seconds. The turnsignal lamps flash.

OPERATING THE DOORS
FROM OUTSIDE YOUR
VEHICLE
UNLOCKING AND LOCKING THEDOORS USING THE REMOTECONTROL
You can only use the remote control whenyour vehicle is stationary.
Unlocking the Doors
Press the button to unlock alldoors. One long flash of the turnsignal lamps confirms that yourvehicle has unlocked.
Locking the Doors
Press the button to lock alldoors. One short flash of theturn signal lamps confirms thatyour vehicle has locked.
UNLOCKING AND LOCKING THEDOORS USING THE KEY BLADE
If there is a power door lock fault you canuse the key blade to lock and unlock thedoors.
Turn clockwise to lock.
Turn counterclockwise to unlock.

OPENING THE DOORS FROMINSIDE YOUR VEHICLE
Pull the interior door handle twice tounlock and open a rear door. The first pullunlocks the door and the second pullopens the door.
AUTOUNLOCK
WHAT IS AUTOUNLOCK
Autounlock is an unlocking feature thatunlocks the vehicle doors when yourvehicle comes to a stop.
AUTOUNLOCK REQUIREMENTS
Autounlock unlocks all the doors after allof the following occur.
1.All the doors are closed and yourvehicle is moving at a speed greaterthan 12 mph (20 km/h).
2.Your vehicle comes to a stop.
3.You open the driver door within 10minutes of switching the ignition off orto the accessory position.
Note:If you open the driver door after 10minutes, Autounlock does not unlock allother doors.
SWITCHING AUTOUNLOCK ONAND OFF - VEHICLES WITH: 12INCH SCREEN
1.Press Settings on the touchscreen.
2.Press Vehicle Settings.
3.Switch Autounlock on or off.
SWITCHING AUTOUNLOCK ONAND OFF - VEHICLES WITH: 15INCH SCREEN
1.Access the vehicle drawer on thetouchscreen.
2.Press SETTINGS.
3.Press Vehicle.
4.Press Locks.
5.Switch Autounlock on or off.
AUTOLOCK
WHAT IS AUTOLOCK
Autolock is a locking feature that locksyour vehicle doors when you start driving.
AUTOLOCK REQUIREMENTS
Autolock locks all the doors when all of thefollowing occur:
•All doors are closed.
•The ignition is on.
•Your vehicle reaches a speed greaterthan 12 mph (20 km/h).
MISLOCK
WHAT IS MISLOCK
Mislock is a locking feature that warns youif your vehicle has not locked.
MISLOCK LIMITATIONS
When you press the lock button once, theturn signals do not flash if:
•Any door or the tailgate is open.
•The hood is open.

PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT
SYSTEM
WHAT IS THE PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM
The passive anti-theft system preventssomeone from starting the vehicle with anincorrectly coded key.
Note:Do not leave a duplicate coded keyin your vehicle. Always take the keys andlock all the doors when leaving your vehicle.
HOW DOES THE PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM WORK
The passive anti-theft system arms whenyou switch the ignition off.
It disarms when the ignition is switched onwith a correctly coded key.
Note:The system is not compatible withnon-Ford aftermarket remote start systems.
Note:Do not leave a duplicate coded keyin your vehicle. Always take the keys andlock all doors when leaving your vehicle.
ANTI-THEFT ALARM SYSTEM
WHAT IS THE ANTI-THEFT ALARMSYSTEM
The anti-theft alarm system warns you ofan unauthorized entry to your vehicle.
HOW DOES THE ANTI-THEFTALARM SYSTEM WORK
When armed, the anti-theft alarm istriggered in any of the following ways:
•If someone opens a door, the tailgateor the hood without a correctly codedkey or remote control.
•If you turn the power on without acorrectly coded key.
•If the interior sensors detect movementinside your vehicle.
•If the inclination sensors detect anattempt to raise your vehicle.
•If someone disconnects the vehiclebattery or the battery backup alarm.
•If someone disconnects the trailer. SeeConnecting a Trailer (page 354).
Any further attempts to carry out one ofthe above, sounds the alarm again.
If the anti-theft alarm is triggered, thealarm horn sounds for 30 seconds and theturn signals flash for five minutes.
WHAT IS THE PERIMETER ALARM
The perimeter alarm is designed to detectunauthorized access to your vehicle.
WHAT ARE THE INTERIORSENSORS
The interior sensors are designed to detectany movement inside your vehicle.
The interior sensors are in the overheadconsole.
Note:Do not cover the interior sensors.

HEADLAMPS
USING THE HIGH BEAMHEADLAMPS
Push the lever away from you toswitch the high beam on.
Push the lever forward again or pull thelever toward you to switch the high beamsoff.
Slightly pull the lever toward you andrelease it to flash the headlamps.
SWITCHING HEADLAMP EXITDELAY ON AND OFF
To switch headlamp exit delay on, pull theturn signal lever toward you after switchingyour vehicle off.
To switch headlamp exit delay off, pull theturn signal lever toward you again or switchyour vehicle on.
Note:The headlamps turn off after threeminutes with any door open or 30 secondsafter the last door closes.
HEADLAMP INDICATORS
Lamps On
Illuminates when you switch thelow beam headlamps or theparking lamps on.
Headlamp High Beam
Illuminates when you switch thehigh beam headlamps on.

HEADLAMPS – FREQUENTLYASKED QUESTIONS
Why is there condensation in theheadlamps?
•Headlamps have vents toaccommodate normal changes in airpressure. Condensation can be anatural by-product of this design.When moist air enters the lampassembly through the vents, there is apossibility that condensation can occur

EXTERIOR LAMPS
USING THE TURN SIGNAL LAMPS
Push the lever up or down toswitch the turn signal lamps on.
Set the lever to the middle position toswitch the turn signal lamps off.
Note:Tap the lever up or down to make theturn signal lamps flash three times.
Turn Signal Lamp Indicator
It flashes when you switch theturn signal lamps on.
Note:An increase in the rate of flashingwarns of a failed turn signal lamp.
SWITCHING THE DAYTIMERUNNING LAMPS ON AND OFF -VEHICLES WITH: CONFIGURABLEDAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS/12INCH SCREEN
WARNING: The daytime runninglamps system does not activate the rearlamps and may not provide adequatelighting during low visibility drivingconditions. Make sure you switch theheadlamps on, as appropriate, during alllow visibility conditions. Failure to do somay result in a crash.
1.Press Settings on the touchscreen.
2.Press Vehicle Settings.
3.Press Lighting.
4.Switch Daytime Running Lights on oroff.
The daytime running lamps turn on whenall of the following occur:
•You switch the system on.
•You switch your vehicle on.
•The transmission is not in park (P) forvehicles with automatic transmissionsor you release the parking brake forvehicles with manual transmissions.
•The lighting control is in the autolampsposition.
•The headlamps are off.
Note:Other lighting control positions donot turn on the daytime running lamps.

Front Fog Lamps Indicator
It illuminates when you switchthe front fog lamps on.
SWITCHING THE SPOT LAMPS ONAND OFF (If Equipped)
The spot lamp buttons are near the lightingcontrol.
Press the button to switch on theleft-hand spot lamp.
Press the button to switch on theright-hand spot lamp.
Move the position of the exterior mirrorsto adjust the aim.
Note:Make sure you switch your vehicle on,with the vehicle in accessory mode orrunning.
Note:The spot lamps turn off after 6 mph(10 km/h).
Note:The spot lamps illuminate the areain front of and to the side of your vehicle.
EXTERIOR LAMP INDICATORS
Front Fog Lamp
It illuminates when you switchthe front fog lamps on.
Turn Signal Lamp
It flashes when you switch theturn signal lamps on.
Note:An increase in the rate of flashingwarns of a failed turn signal lamp.

EXTERIOR ZONE LIGHTING
WHAT IS EXTERIOR ZONELIGHTING
Exterior zone lighting divides the exteriorlighting into zones and allows you to switchthem on and off to provide lighting aroundthe perimeter of your vehicle.

1.Select the mirror you want to adjust.The control light turns on.

FOLDING THE EXTERIOR
MIRRORS - VEHICLES WITH:
MANUAL FOLDING MIRRORS
Push the mirror toward the door windowglass. Make sure that you fully engage themirror in its support when returning it to itsoriginal position.
Heated Exterior Mirrors
See Switching the Heated Mirrors Onand Off (page 149).
Memory Mirrors
You can save and recall the mirrorpositions through the memory function.See Folding the Exterior Mirrors (page131).
Directional Indicator Mirrors
When your vehicle is running, theforward-facing portion of the appropriatemirror housing blinks when you switch onthe turn signal.
Puddle Lamps
The puddle lamps turn on when youapproach your vehicle with a remotecontrol or phone. If your vehicle hasauto-folding mirrors, the puddle lamps areonly on if the mirrors are unfolded and turnoff when the mirrors fold.
