Harley-Davidson instrument cluster
Warning lights and gauges can alert you to a vehicle condition that may
become serious enough to cause expensive repairs. A warning light may
illuminate when a problem exists with one of your vehicle’s functions.
Many lights will illuminate when you start your vehicle to make sure the
bulb works. If any light remains on after starting the vehicle, refer to the
respective system warning light for additional information.

illuminates when the ignition is first
turned to the ON position to check
the bulb and to indicate whether the vehicle is ready for
Inspection/Maintenance (I/M) testing. Normally, the
Service engine soon

light will stay on until the engine is cranked, then turn itself off if no
malfunctions are present. However, if after 15 seconds the
Service
engine soon
light blinks eight times, it means that the vehicle is not
ready for I/M testing. See theReadiness for Inspection/Maintenance
(I/M) testingin theMaintenance and Specificationschapter.
Solid illumination after the engine is started indicates the On Board
Diagnostics System (OBD-II) has detected a malfunction. Refer toOn
board diagnostics (OBD-II)in theMaintenance and Specifications
chapter. If the light is blinking, engine misfire is occurring which could
damage your catalytic converter. Drive in a moderate fashion (avoid
heavy acceleration and deceleration) and have your vehicle serviced
immediately by your authorized dealer.

Under engine misfire conditions, excessive exhaust temperatures
could damage the catalytic converter, the fuel system, interior
floor coverings or other vehicle components, possibly causing a fire.
Electronic throttle control
(if equipped):Illuminates when
the engine has defaulted to a

limp-home
operation. Report the
fault to a dealer at the earliest opportunity.
On vehicles equipped with a message center, “ENGINE FAILSAFE
MODE” will be displayed, refer toMessage centerin theDriver
Controlschapter.
Brake system warning light:To confirm the brake system warning
light is functional, it will momentarily illuminate when the ignition is
turned to the ON position when the engine is not running, or in a
position between ON and START, or by applying the parking brake when
the ignition is turned to the ON position.

If the brake system warning light
does not illuminate at this time,
seek service immediately from your authorized dealer. Illumination after
releasing the parking brake indicates low brake fluid level and the brake
system should be inspected immediately by your authorized dealer.
Driving a vehicle with the brake system warning light on is
dangerous. A significant decrease in braking performance may
occur. It will take you longer to stop the vehicle. Have the vehicle
checked by your authorized dealer. Driving extended distances with
the parking brake engaged can cause brake failure and the risk of
personal injury.

Anti-lock brake system:If the
ABS light stays illuminated or
continues to flash, a malfunction has
been detected, have the system
serviced immediately by your
authorized dealer. Normal braking is still functional unless the brake
warning light also is illuminated.
Airbag readiness:If this light fails
to illuminate when the ignition is
turned to ON, continues to flash or
remains on, have the system
serviced immediately by your
authorized dealer. A chime will also sound when a malfunction in the
supplemental restraint system has been detected.
Safety belt:Reminds you to fasten
your safety belt. A Belt-Minder
chime will also sound to remind you
to fasten your safety belt. Refer to
theSeating and safety restraints
chapter to activate/deactivate the Belt-Minderchime feature.
Charging system:Illuminates when
the battery is not charging properly.
Door ajar:Illuminates when the
ignition is in the ON position and
any door is open.
Low tire pressure warning
(if equipped):Illuminates when
your tire pressure is low. If the light
remains ON at start up or while
driving, the tire pressure should be
checked. Refer toInflating Your Tiresin theTires, Wheels and
Loadingchapter. When the ignition is first turned to ON, the light will
illuminate for 3 seconds to ensure the bulb is working. If the light does
not turn ON, have the system inspected by your authorized dealer. For

MINI MESSAGE CENTER WARNING DISPLAYS (IF EQUIPPED)
Door ajar:Displays when the
ignition is in the ON position and
any door is open.
Low fuel:Displays when the fuel
level in the fuel tank is at or near
empty (refer toFuel gaugein this
chapter).
Check fuel cap:Displays when the
fuel cap may not be properly
installed. Continued driving with
this display on may cause the
Service engine soon warning light to
come on. Refer toFuel filler capin theMaintenance and
Specificationschapter.
Check gauge:Displays when any of
the following conditions has
occurred:
•The engine coolant temperature
is high.
•The engine oil pressure is low.
•The fuel gauge is at or near empty.
Trans fault:Displays when a
transmission problem has been
detected and shifting may be
restricted. If the light remains on,
have the system serviced
immediately by your authorized dealer.
Key-in-ignition warning chime:Sounds when the key is left in the
ignition in the OFF/LOCK or ACCESSORY position and the driver’s door
is opened.
Headlamps on warning chime:Sounds when the headlamps or parking
lamps are on, the ignition is off (the key is not in the ignition) and the
driver’s door is opened.

Battery voltage gauge:Indicates
the battery voltage when the
ignition is in the ON position. If the
pointer moves and stays outside the
normal operating range, have the
vehicle’s electrical system checked
by your authorized dealer as soon as
possible.
Engine oil pressure gauge:
Indicates engine oil pressure. The
needle should stay in the normal
operating range (between “L” and
“H”). If the needle falls below the
normal range, stop the vehicle, turn
off the engine and check the engine
oil level. Add oil if needed. If the oil level is correct, have your vehicle
checked by your authorized dealer.
Fuel gauge:Indicates
approximately how much fuel is left
in the fuel tank (when the ignition
is in the ON position). The fuel
gauge may vary slightly when the
vehicle is in motion or on a grade.
The arrow next to the fuel pump
icon indicates which side of the vehicle the fuel filler door is located.

AM/FM stereo system (if equipped)
Driving while distracted can result in loss of vehicle control,
accident and injury. Ford strongly recommends that drivers use
extreme caution when using any device that may take their focus off
the road. The drivers primary responsibility is the safe operation of
their vehicle. Only use cell phones and other devices not essential to
the driving task when it is safe to do so.
Accessory delay:Your vehicle is equipped with accessory delay which
allows you to operate the window switches and the audio for up to ten
minutes after the ignition has been turned off or until either front door is
opened.

Accessory delay:Your vehicle is equipped with accessory delay which
allows you to operate the window switches and the audio for up to ten
minutes after the ignition has been turned off or until either front door is
opened.
1.
/: Press/to
manually go up or down the radio
frequency. Press and hold for a fast
advance through radio frequencies.
2.
(Phone): When pressed, the
display will read NO PHONE.
3.MENU:Press MENU repeatedly
to access to the following settings:
SATELLITE RADIO MENU (if equipped):Press MENU when satellite
radio mode is active to access. Press OK to enter into the satellite radio
menu. Press
/to cycle through the following options:
•CATEGORY:Press OK to enter category mode. Press
/to
scroll through the list of available SIRIUS channel Categories (Pop,
Rock, News, etc.) Press OK when the desired category appears in the
display. After a category is selected, press SEEK to search for that
specific category of channels only (i.e. ROCK). You may also select
CATEGORY ALL to seek all available SIRIUS categories and channels.
Press OK to close and return to the main menu.
•SAVE SONG:Press OK to save the currently playing song in the
system’s memory. (If you try to save something other than a song,
CANT SAVE will appear in the display.) When the chosen song is
playing on any satellite radio channel, the system will alert you with
an audible prompt. Press OK while SONG ALERT is in the display and
the system will take you to the channel playing the desired song. You
can save up to 20 songs. If you attempt to save a song when the
system is full, the display will read REPLACE SONG? Press OK to
access the saved songs and press
/to cycle through the saved
songs. When the song appears in the display that you would like to
replace, press OK. SONG REPLACED will appear in the display.

14.AM/FM:Press AM/FM to select
AM/FM1/FM2 frequency band.
15.ON/OFF/Volume:Press
VOL-PUSH to turn ON/OFF. Turn
VOL-PUSH to increase/decrease
volume.
Note:If the volume is set above a
certain level and the ignition is turned off, the volume will come back on
at a “nominal” listening level when the ignition switch is turned back on.
16.CD: Press to enter CD/MP3
mode. If a CD/MP3 is already loaded
into the system, CD/MP3 play will
begin where it ended last.

(CD eject):Press to eject a
CD/MP3.
18.CD slot:Insert a CD/MP3 label
side up in the CD slot.

In satellite radio mode (if equipped), there are 18 available presets,
six each for SAT1, SAT2 and SAT3. To save satellite channels in your
memory presets, tune to the desired channel then press and hold a
preset control until sound returns.
Satellite radio is available only with a valid SIRIUS radio
subscription. Check with your authorized dealer for availability.
13.TEXT/SCAN: In radio and
CD/MP3 mode, press and hold to
hear a brief sampling of radio
stations or CD tracks.
In CD/MP3 mode,press and release to display track title, artist name,
and disc title and file name (if available).
In satellite radio mode (if equipped),press and release to enter
TEXT MODE and display the current song title. While in TEXT MODE,
press again to scroll through the current song title, artist, channel
category and the SIRIUS long channel name.
In TEXT MODE,sometimes the display requires additional text to be
displayed. When the “>” indicator is active, press TEXT and SEEK
to view the additional display text. When the “>” indicator is active,
press TEXT and
SEEK to view the previous display text.
Press and hold to hear a brief sampling of the next channels. Press again
to stop.
In CATEGORY MODE,press SCAN to hear a brief sampling of
channels in the selected category. Press again to stop.Satellite radio is
available only with a valid SIRIUS subscription. Check with your
authorized dealer for availability.
14.AM/FM:Press to select
AM/FM1/FM2 frequency band.
15.ON/OFF/Volume:Press to turn
ON/OFF. Turn to increase/decrease
