Illuminated Exit
The interior lamps and select exteriorlamps illuminate when all doors are closedand you switch the ignition off.
The lamps turn off if all the doors remainclosed and:
•After 25 seconds elapse.
•You press the START/STOP button.
Battery Saver
If you leave on the courtesy lamps, domelamps or headlamps, the battery saverturns them off 10 minutes after you switchoff the ignition.
Accessory Mode Battery Saver forIntelligent Access Keys
If you leave your vehicle in the run ignitionstate, it turns off once it detects a certainamount of battery drain or after 45minutes.
INTERIOR LUGGAGE
COMPARTMENT RELEASE
WARNING: Keep vehicle doors andluggage compartment locked and keepkeys and remote transmitters out of achild’s reach. Unsupervised childrencould lock themselves in the trunk andrisk injury. Children should be taught notto play in vehicles.
WARNING: Do not leave childrenor animals unattended in the vehicle. Onhot days, the temperature in the trunk orvehicle interior can rise very quickly.Exposure of people or animals to thesehigh temperatures for even a short timecan cause death or serious heat-relatedinjuries, including brain damage. Smallchildren are particularly at risk.
Your vehicle is equipped with a releasehandle that provides a means of escapefor children and adults if they becomelocked inside the luggage compartment.
Adults should familiarize themselves withthe operation and location of the releasehandle.
The handle is located inside the luggagecompartment either on the luggagecompartment door (lid) or near the taillamps. It is composed of a material thatwill glow for hours in darkness followingbrief exposure to ambient light.
Pull the handle and push up on the luggagecompartment door (lid) to open fromwithin the luggage compartment.

Adaptive Cruise Control Indicator
(If Equipped)
It illuminates when you switchthe system on.
It illuminates white when thesystem is in standby mode. It illuminatesgreen when you set the adaptive cruisespeed.
See Using Adaptive Cruise Control(page 185).
Airbag Warning Lamp
If it does not illuminate when youswitch the ignition on, continuesto flash or remains on when theengine is running, this indicates amalfunction. Have your vehicle checkedas soon as possible.
Anti-Lock Brake System WarningLamp
If it illuminates when you aredriving, this indicates amalfunction. Your vehiclecontinues to have normal braking withoutthe anti-lock brake system function. Haveyour vehicle checked as soon as possible.
Automatic Headlamp High BeamIndicator (If Equipped)
It illuminates when the systemautomatically turns theheadlamp high beam on.

Battery
If it illuminates while driving, itindicates a malfunction. Switchoff all unnecessary electricalequipment and have the systemimmediately checked.
Blind Spot Information SystemIndicator
It illuminates when you switchthe system off.

Brake System Warning Lamp
WARNING: Driving your vehiclewith the warning lamp on is dangerous.A significant decrease in brakingperformance may occur. It may take youlonger to stop your vehicle. Have yourvehicle checked as soon as possible.Driving extended distances with theparking brake engaged can cause brakefailure and the risk of personal injury.
Note:Indicators vary depending on region.
This lamp is a dual function lamp andilluminates when:
•You apply the parking brake with theignition on.
•Your vehicle has a brake fault or lowbrake fluid level, regardless of parkingbrake position.
If the lamp illuminates when youare moving, you may have theparking brake applied. Make surethe parking brake is off. Haveyour vehicle checked as soon aspossible if the lamp continues toilluminate.

•Air/Fuel Ratio - Displays the current air to fuel mixture in the engine.
•Axle Oil Temp - Displays the axle's oil temperature.
•Boost/Vacuum - Displays the vacuum or boost pressure for the 2.3L engine.
•Cylinder Head Temp - Displays the engine's cylinder head temperature.
•Inlet Air Temp - Displays the temperature of the air in the cold air inlet tube.
•Oil Pressure - Displays the engine oil pressure.
•Oil Temp - Displays the engine oil temperature. If the temperature rises to the redarea, stop in a safe place and let your vehicle cool. If the problem persists, see anauthorized dealer.
•Trans Oil Temp - Displays the transmission fluid operating temperature. If thetemperature rises to the red area, stop in a safe place and let the transmission cool.If the problem persists, see an authorized dealer.
•Vacuum - Displays the vacuum pressure for the 5.0L engine.
•Voltage - Displays your vehicle's battery voltage. If the voltage is consistently toohigh or very low, contact an authorized dealer.
Note:In order to provide real-time values, some gauges may display more value fluctuationthan other gauges during normal operation.

The battery management system determines that the 12V batteryis at a low state of charge. Start the engine to charge the batteryor charge the battery using an aftermarket battery charger. Thismessage clears once you restart your vehicle and the battery stateof charge has recovered.
Battery State ofCharge Low
The battery management system detects an extended low-voltagecondition. Your vehicle disables various features to help preservethe battery. Turn off as many of the electrical loads as soon aspossible to improve system voltage. If the system voltage hasrecovered, the disabled features operate again as normal.
Low BatteryFeatures Tempor-arily Turned Off
The battery management system determines that the battery is ata low state of charge. Turn your ignition off as soon as possible toprotect the battery. This message clears once you restart yourvehicle and the battery state of charge has recovered. Turning offunnecessary electrical loads allow faster battery state-of-chargerecovery.

WHAT IS REMOTE START
The system allows you to remotely startyour vehicle and therefore to heat or coolthe interior to a predeterminedtemperature.
REMOTE START LIMITATIONS
Remote start does not work under thefollowing conditions:
•The alarm horn is sounding.
•The hood is open.
•The transmission is not in park (P).
•The ignition is on.
•The battery voltage is below theminimum operating voltage.
Note:Do not use remote start if your fuellevel is low.
ENABLING REMOTE START
1.Press Settings on the touchscreen.
2.Press Vehicle.
3.Press Remote Start Setup.
4.Switch Remote Start on or off.
Note:To remote start with FordPass, makesure that the modem is enabled. SeeConnecting FordPass to the Modem(page 368).
REMOTELY STARTING THE
ENGINE
WARNING: Do not start the enginein a closed garage or in other enclosedareas. Exhaust fumes are toxic. Alwaysopen the garage door before you startthe engine. Failure to follow thisinstruction could result in personal injuryor death.
To start the engine, do the following:
Press the button on the remotecontrol.
Within three seconds, press thebutton on the remote control.
Within three seconds, press thebutton again.
Note:You can also use the FordPass appto start the engine.
Note:The turn signals flash twice.
Note:The parking lamps turn on when theengine is running.
Note:The horn sounds if the system failsto start.
Note:All other vehicle systems remain offwhen you have remotely started the engine.
Note:The vehicle remains secured whenyou have remotely started the engine. Avalid key must be inside your vehicle toswitch the ignition on and drive your vehicle.
EXTENDING THE REMOTE
START DURATION
To extend the engine running durationduring remote start, do the following:

cushion. This can cause the heated seatto overheat. Do not puncture the seatwith pins, needles or other pointedobjects. This damages the heatingelement and can cause the heated seatto overheat. An overheated seat maycause serious personal injury.
Note:Do not do the following:
•Place heavy objects on the seat.
•Operate the seat heater if water or anyother liquid spills on the seat. Allow theseat to dry thoroughly.
•Operate the heated seats unless theengine is running. Doing so can causethe battery to lose charge.
Press the heated seat symbol to cyclethrough the various heat settings and off.More indicator lights indicate warmersettings.
Cooled Seats
The cooled seats only function when theengine is running.
Press the cooled seat symbol to cyclethrough the various cool settings and off.More indicator lights indicate coolersettings.
If the engine falls below 350 RPM whilethe cooled seats are on, the feature turnsitself off. You will need to reactivate it.

12 Volt DC Power Point
WARNING: Do not plug optionalelectrical accessories into the cigarlighter socket. Incorrect use of the cigarlighter can cause damage not coveredby the vehicle warranty, and can resultin fire or serious injury.
Note:When you switch the ignition on, youcan use the socket to power 12 voltappliances with a maximum current ratingof 15 amps.
If the power supply does not work after youswitch the ignition off, switch the ignitionon.Note:Do not hang any accessory from theaccessory plug.
Note:Do not use the power point over thevehicle capacity of 12 volt DC 180 watts ora fuse may blow.
Note:Always keep the power point capsclosed when not in use.
Do not insert objects other than anaccessory plug into the power point. Thisdamages the power point and may blowthe fuse.
Run the vehicle for full capacity use of thepower point.
To prevent the battery from running out ofcharge:
•Do not use the power point longer thannecessary when the vehicle is notrunning.
•Do not leave devices plugged inovernight or when you park your vehiclefor extended periods.

•On the front of the center console.
•Inside the center console.
