Disregard this status if your vehicle is notequipped with a factory installed trailerbrake controller. This message may appearwhen an aftermarket TBC is used evenwhen the trailer is connected.
Change Active Trailer
When this is highlighted, press the rightarrow key to change the currently selectedtrailer. Use the up and down arrows toselect a trailer and press the OK button tochoose the highlighted trailer.
Adding a new trailer
Use the up/down arrows to highlight NewTrailer and press the right arrow key toenter the New Trailer input screen. Use theup/down arrow keys to choose alpha,numeric and symbol characters and thenpress the right arrow to move the characterspace over. Continue adding characters asneeded. Press the left arrow to go backand change a previously selectedcharacter. When finished with the newtrailer name, press OK to accept the newtrailer name.
Connection Checklist
Use the up/down arrows to highlight oneof these choices and press OK to displaythe connection checklist. Follow theon-screen instructions to go through theconnections list.
Delete Trailer
Use the up/down arrows to highlight thetrailer you want to delete and press OK todelete. Follow the on-screen prompts toexit or confirm delete.
Rename Trailer
Use the up/down buttons to highlight atrailer and press OK to select it. Use theup/down arrow buttons to change thecharacters as needed. When done, pressOK to accept the change.
Reset Trailer Mileage / Kilometers
Use the up/down buttons to select atrailer, then press and hold OK to reset thetrailer mileage (kilometers).

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE
Vehicles Sold In The U.S.: GettingRoadside Assistance
To fully assist you should you have avehicle concern, Ford Motor Companyoffers a complimentary roadsideassistance program. This program isseparate from the New Vehicle LimitedWarranty. The service is available:
•24 hours, seven days a week.
•for the coverage period listed on theRoadside Assistance Card included inyour Owner's Manual portfolio.
Roadside assistance will cover:
•a flat tire change with a good spare, ifprovided with the vehicle (exceptvehicles that have been supplied witha tire inflation kit).
•battery jump start.
•lock-out assistance (key replacementcost is the customer's responsibility).
•fuel delivery — Independent ServiceContractors, if not prohibited by state,local or municipal law, shall deliver upto 2.0 gallons (7.5 liters) of gasoline or5.0 gallons (18.9 liters) of diesel fuelto a disabled vehicle. Fuel deliveryservice is limited to two no-chargeoccurrences within a 12-month period.
•winch out — available within 100 feet(30.5 meters) of a paved or countymaintained road, no recoveries.
•towing — Ford and Lincoln eligiblevehicles towed to an authorized dealerwithin 35 miles (56.3 kilometers) of thedisablement location or to the nearestauthorized dealer. If a memberrequests to be towed to an authorizeddealer more than 35 miles (56.3kilometers) from the disablementlocation, the member shall beresponsible for any mileage costs inexcess of 35 miles (56.3 kilometers).
Trailers shall be covered up to $200 if thedisabled eligible vehicle requires service atthe nearest authorized dealer. If the traileris disabled, but the towing vehicle isoperational, the trailer does not qualify forany roadside services.
Vehicles Sold In The U.S. : UsingRoadside Assistance
Complete the roadside assistanceidentification card and place it in yourwallet for quick reference. This card isfound in the owner's information portfolioin the glove compartment.
U.S. Ford vehicle customers who requireRoadside Assistance, call 1-800-241-3673.
If you need to arrange roadside assistancefor yourself, Ford Motor Company willreimburse a reasonable amount for towingto the nearest dealership within 35 miles(56.3 kilometers). To obtainreimbursement information, U.S. Fordvehicle customers call 1-800-241-3673.Customers will be asked to submit theiroriginal receipts.

Canadian customers who require roadsideassistance, call 1-800-665-2006.

WARNINGS
When inflating the tire formounting pressures up to 20 psi(1.38 bar) greater than themaximum pressure on the tiresidewall, the followingprecautions must be taken toprotect the person mounting thetire:
1. Make sure that you have thecorrect tire and wheel size.
2. Lubricate the tire bead andwheel bead seat area again.
3. Stand at a minimum of 12 feet(3.6 meters) away from the wheeland tire assembly.
4. Use both eye and earprotection.
For a mounting pressure morethan 20 psi (1.38 bar) greater thanthe maximum pressure, a Forddealer or other tire serviceprofessional should do themounting.
Always inflate steel carcass tireswith a remote air fill with theperson inflating standing at aminimum of 12 feet (3.6 meters)away from the wheel and tireassembly
Important: Remember to replacethe wheel valve stems when the
road tires are replaced on yourvehicle
The two front tires or two rear tiresshould generally be replaced as apair.
The tire pressure sensors mountedin the wheels are not designed tobe used in aftermarket wheels.
The use of wheels or tires notrecommended by Ford MotorCompany may affect theoperation of your tire pressuremonitoring system.
If the tire pressure monitoringsystem indicator is flashing, thesystem is malfunctioning. Yourreplacement tire might beincompatible with your tirepressure monitoring system, orsome component of the systemmay be damaged.
Safety Practices
WARNINGS
If your vehicle is stuck insnow, mud, or sand, do notrapidly spin the tires; spinning thetires can tear the tire and causean explosion. A tire can explode inas little as three to five seconds.
Do not spin the wheels atover 35 mph (56 km/h). Thetires may fail and injure apassenger or bystander.
Driving habits have a great dealto do with your tire mileage andsafety.

If you donot want to disclose this information, donot turn the feature on.

Failure to perform scheduledmaintenance and regularly inspect yourvehicle may result in vehicle damage andserious injury.
Note:This feature is only available in theUnited States.

You can run a report (after your vehicle hasbeen running a minimum of 60 seconds)by pressing the voice button and saying"Vehicle health report", or pressing thephone button.
To run a report using the phone button:

1.Press the phone button to enter phonemenu.
2.Scroll to select Vehicle Health, andthen press OK.
3.Scroll to select from the followingoptions:
Vehicle health report options
Automatic Reports: Press OK to and select On or Off.Select On to have SYNC automatically prompt you to run
a health report at certain mileage intervals.*
User Preferences: Press OKto select and enter themenu. Scroll to select from:
Mileage Intervals: Press OK. Scroll to select between5000, 7500 or 10000-mile intervals and press OK to makeyour selection.
Return: Press OK to exit the menu.
Press OK for SYNC to run a health report of your vehicle'sdiagnostic systems and send the results to Ford where itcombines with scheduled maintenance information, openrecalls and other field service actions and vehicle inspec-tion items that still need servicing from an authorizeddealer.

Turn Automatic Reminders on and offand set the mileage interval at which youwould like to receive the reports. Press ?for more information on these selections.
When done making your selections, pressRun Vehicle Health Report Now if youwant your report.

Rear View Camera
This menu allows you to access settingsfor your rear view camera.
Press the Settings icon >Vehicle > Rear View Camera,then select from the followingsettings:
•Rear Camera Delay
•Visual Park Aid Alert
•Guidelines.
You can find more information on the rearview camera in another chapter. See RearView Camera (page 173).
Enable Valet Mode
Valet mode allows you to lock the system.No information is accessible until thesystem is unlocked with the correct PIN.You can create your own four-digit PIN tolock and unlock the system.
1.Press the Settings icon > Vehicle >Enable Valet Mode.
2.When prompted, enter a four-digit PIN.
After you press Continue, the system locksuntil you enter the PIN again.
Note:If the system locks, and you need toreset the PIN, enter 3681 and the systemunlocks.

Press the speaker button on themap to mute route guidance.When the light on the buttonilluminates, the feature is on. The speakerbutton appears on the map only whenroute guidance is active.
Re-center the map by pressingthis icon whenever you scroll themap away from your vehicle’scurrent location.
Auto Zoom
Press the green bar to access map mode,then select the + or - zoom button to bringup the zoom level and Auto buttons on thetouchscreen. When you press Auto, AutoZoom turns on and Auto displays in thebottom left corner of the screen in the mapscale. The map zoom level thensynchronizes with vehicle speed. Theslower your vehicle is traveling, the fartherin the map zooms in; the faster your vehicleis traveling, the farther the map zooms out.To turn the feature off, just press the + or- button again.
In 3D mode, rotate the map view byswiping your finger across the shaded barwith the arrows.
The ETA box under the zoom buttonsappears when a route is active anddisplays the distance and time to yourdestination. If the button is pressed, a popup appears with the destination listed (andwaypoint if applicable) along with mileageand time to destination. You may alsoselect to have either the estimated timeto reach your destination or your estimatedarrival time.
Map Icons
Vehicle mark shows the currentlocation of your vehicle. It staysin the center of the map display,except when in scroll mode.
Scroll cursor allows you to scrollthe map; the fixed icon is in thecenter of the screen. The mapposition closest to the cursor is ina window on the top center part of thescreen.
Address book entry defaulticon(s) indicates the location onthe map of an address book entry.This is the default symbol shownafter the entry has been stored to theAddress Book by any method other thanthe map. You can select from any of the22 icons available. You can use each iconmore than once.
Home indicates the location onthe map currently stored as thehome position. You can only saveone address from the AddressBook as your Home entry. You cannotchange this icon.
POI (Point Of Interest) iconsindicate locations of any point ofinterest categories you choose todisplay on the map. You canchoose to display three point of interestcategories on the map at one time.
Starting point indicates thestarting point of a planned route.
Waypoint indicates the locationof a waypoint on the map. Thenumber inside the circle is differentfor each waypoint and representsthe position of the waypoint in the routelist.
Destination symbol indicates theending point of a planned route.
Next maneuver point indicatesthe location of the next turn on theplanned route.
