Note:
Do not cover the sensors with bumper
stickers, repair compound or other objects.
Note: Blocked sensors could affect system
performance.
If the sensors are blocked, a message may
appear in the information display. The
indicators remain illuminated in the exterior
mirror but the system does not alert you.
Switching the Blind Spot
Information System On and Off
1. Using the information display controls on the steering wheel, select Settings.
2. Select Driver Assistance.
3. Select
Blind Spot.
4. Switch
Blind Spot on or off.
When you switch the system off, a warning
lamp illuminates in the instrument cluster
and the alert indicators flash twice.
The system remembers the last setting
when you start your vehicle.
Note: The system may not correctly operate
when towing a trailer. The system turns off
when you attach a trailer, if your vehicle has
an approved trailer tow module and tow
bar. For vehicles with an aftermarket trailer
tow module or tow bar, turn the system off
when you attach a trailer.
To permanently switch the system off,
contact an authorized dealer.
Blind Spot Information System
Indicator When the system detects a
vehicle, an alert indicator
illuminates in the exterior mirror
on the side the approaching vehicle is
coming from. If you turn the direction
indicator on for that side of your vehicle,
the alert indicator flashes.
Note: The system may not alert you if a
vehicle quickly passes through the detection
zone. Blind Spot Information System
with Trailer Tow
The blind spot information system with
trailer tow is designed to detect vehicles
that may have entered the blind spot zone.
The detection area is on both sides of your
vehicle and trailer, extending rearward
from the exterior mirrors to the end of your
trailer. When you attach a trailer and have
set up a trailer, the blind spot information
system with trailer tow becomes active
when driving forward above
6 mph
(10 km/h).
You can set up the trailer length, select a
trailer or switch blind spot information
system with trailer tow off.
Note: The system remembers the last
trailer setting when you start your vehicle.

Adaptive Learning (If Equipped)
The electronic power steering system
adaptive learning helps correct road
irregularities and improves overall handling
and steering feel. It communicates with
the brake system to help operate advanced stability control and accident
avoidance systems. Additionally, whenever
the battery is disconnected or a new
battery installed, you must drive your
vehicle a short distance before the system
relearns the strategy and reactivates all
systems.

The system has malfunctioned. Stop your vehicle as soon
as it is safe to do so. You continue to have full steering but
you need to exert greater force on the steering wheel. Have
your vehicle checked as soon as possible.

non-Ford windshield. Do not carry out
windshield repairs in the area around the

In situations where the
vehicle camera has limited detection
capability, this may reduce system
performance. These situations include
but are not limited to direct or low
sunlight, vehicles at night without tail
lights, unconventional vehicle types,
pedestrians with complex backgrounds,

Tire Pressure Monitoring System
Reset Procedure
Overview
WARNING: To determine the
required pressure(s) for your vehicle, see
the Safety Compliance Certification
Label (on the door hinge pillar,
door-latch post or the door edge that
meets the door-latch post, next to the
driver seat) or the Tire Label on the
B-Pillar or the edge of the driver door.
You must carry out the system reset
procedure after each tire replacement or
adjustment of the tire pressures. To maintain your vehicle load carrying
capability, your vehicle requires different
tire pressures in the front tires compared
to the rear tires.
The system illuminates the warning lamp
at different pressures for the front and rear
tires.
If the tires are rotated, the Tire Pressure
Monitoring System needs to be reset to
relearn the new tire pressures. It does not
know which sensor is where and assumes
you have set the pressures correctly.
Carrying Out the System Reset
Procedure
Switch the ignition on. Using the
information display control select: Action

Press and hold the
OK button until a confirmation message
appears in the information display. Alternatively, if your
vehicle has a tire pressure monitoring system reset button,
press and hold the button until a confirmation message
appears in the information display.
Tire Monitor
CHANGING A ROAD WHEEL WARNING:
If the tire pressure
monitor sensor becomes damaged it
may not function.
Note: : The use of tire sealants can damage
the tire pressure monitoring system. Note:
The tire pressure monitoring system
indicator light will illuminate when the spare
tire is in use. To restore the full function of
the monitoring system, all road wheels
equipped with tire pressure monitoring
sensors must be mounted on this vehicle.
If you get a flat tire while driving, do not
apply the brake heavily. Instead, gradually
decrease your speed. Hold the steering
wheel firmly and slowly move to a safe
place on the side of the road.

App Permissions
App permissions are organized by groups.
You can grant these group permissions
individually. You can change a permission
group status any time when not driving, by
using the settings menu.
When you launch an app using SYNC, the
system may ask you to grant certain
permissions, for example:
•
To allow your vehicle to provide vehicle
information to the app such as, but not
limited to: Fuel level, fuel economy, fuel
consumption, engine speed, rain
sensor, odometer, VIN, external
temperature, gear position, tire
pressure, and head lamp status.
• To allow your vehicle to provide driving
characteristic information such as, but
not limited to: MyKey, seatbelt status,
engine revolutions per minute, gear
position, braking events, steering wheel
angle, and accelerator pedal position.
• To allow your vehicle to provide
location information, including: GPS
and speed.
• To allow the app to send push
notifications using the vehicle display
and voice capabilities while running in
a background state. Push notifications
may be particularly useful for news or
location based apps.
Note: You only need to grant permissions
the first time you use an app with SYNC.
Note: Ford is not responsible or liable for
any damages or loss of privacy relating to
usage of an app, or dissemination of any
vehicle data that you approve Ford to
provide to an app. Enabling SYNC Mobile Apps
In order to enable mobile apps, SYNC
requires user consent to send and receive
app authorization information and updates
using the data plan associated with the
connected device.
Data is sent to Ford in the United States
through the connected device. The
information is encrypted and includes, for
example, the vehicle identification number
of your vehicle, the SYNC module serial
number, odometer, enabled apps, usage
statistics and debugging information.
Updates may take place.
Note:
You must enable mobile apps for
each connected device the first time you
select a mobile app using the system.
Note: Standard data rates apply. Ford is
not responsible for any additional charges
you may receive from your service provider,
when your vehicle sends or receives data
through the connected device. This includes
any additional charges incurred due to
driving in areas when roaming out of a home
network.
USING SYNC™ WITH YOUR
MEDIA PLAYER
SYNC supports digital media sources
including: iPod, Bluetooth® devices, and
most USB drives. SYNC also supports
audio formats, such as MP3, WMA, WAV
and ACC.
Media Sources
The
AUX or MEDIA button allows you to
view and select available media sources.
Press the
AUX or MEDIA button to view
your sources. Use the directional arrows
and OK button to select your source. You
can also use the steering wheel audio
controls.
