System Operation
Operating conditions
If ‘Rear Active Assist’ or ‘Rear Warning
Only’ is set from the Settings menu,
Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance
Assist will be in the ready status when
the following conditions are satisfied:
-The trunk is closed
-The gear is shifted to R (Reverse)
-Vehicle speed is below 6 mph (10
km/h)
-System components such as the rear
view camera and the rear ultrasonic
sensors are in normal conditions
Rear Warning Only
• If the system detects a risk of collision
with a pedestrian or an object, the
system will warn the driver with an
audible warning, steering wheel
vibration and warning message on
the cluster. When Rear View Monitor
is operating, a warning will appear on
the infotainment system screen.
• ‘If ‘Rear Warning Only’ is selected,
braking will not be assisted.
• The warning will turn off when the
gear is shifted to P (Park), N (Neutral)
or D (Drive). Rear Active Assist
• If the system detects a risk of collision
with a pedestrian or an object, the
system will warn the driver with an
audible warning, steering wheel
vibration and warning message on
the cluster. When Rear View Monitor
is operating, a warning will appear on
the infotainment system screen.
• If the system detects imminent
collision with a pedestrian or an
object behind the vehicle, the system
may assist you with braking. The
driver needs to pay attention as the
brake assist will end within 2 seconds.
The driver must immediately depress
the brake pedal and check vehicle
surroundings.
• Brake control will end when:
-
The gear is shifted to P (Park) or D
(Drive).
-The driver depresses the brake
pedal with sufficient power
-Braking assist last for approximately
2 seconds
• The warning will turn off when:
-The driver shifts the gear to P (Park),
N (Neutral), or D (Drive)
• The brake control may not operate
properly depending on the status of
ESC (Electronic Stability Control).
There will only be a warning when:
-The ESC (Electronic Stability
Control) warning light is on

Emergency Towing
Front
ORG3080022
Rear
ORG3080019
If towing is necessary, we recommend
you have it done by an authorized
retailer of Genesis Branded products or a
commercial tow truck service.
If towing service is not available in
an emergency, your vehicle may be
temporarily towed using a cable or chain
secured to the emergency towing hook
at the front (or rear) of the vehicle.
Use extreme caution when towing the
vehicle with a cable or chain. A driver
must be in the vehicle to steer it and
operate the brakes.
Towing in this manner may be done
only on hard-surfaced roads for a short
distance and at low speeds. Also, the
wheels, axles, power train, steering
and brakes must all be in good working
condition.
CAUTION
The driver must be in the vehicle for
steering and braking operations when
the vehicle is being towed. Passengers
other than the driver must not be in the
vehicle.
Always follow these emergency towing
precautions:
• Press the Engine Start/Stop button
to the ACC position so the steering
wheel is not locked.
• Shift the gear to N (Neutral).
• Release the parking brake.
• Depress the brake pedal with more
force than normal as you will have
reduced braking performance.
• More steering effort will be required
because the power steering system
will be disabled.
• Use a vehicle heavier than your own to
tow your vehicle.
• The drivers of both vehicles should
communicate with each other
frequently.
• Before emergency towing, check that
the hook is not broken or damaged.
• Fasten the towing cable or chain
securely to the hook.
• Do not jerk the hook. Apply steady
and even force.
