Introduction

Using Fuel Additives (except Detergent Fuel Additives)
Using fuel additives such as:
-Silicone fuel additive
-Ferrocene (iron-based) fuel additive
-Other metallic-based fuel additives
may result in cylinder misfire, poor acceleration, engine stalling, damage to the
catalyst, or abnormal corrosion, and may cause damage to the engine resulting in a
reduction in the overall life of the powertrain.
- The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) may illuminate.
NOTICE
Damage to the fuel system or performance problem caused by the use of these fuels
or fuel additives may not be covered by your New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
Gasoline containing MMT
Some gasoline contains harmful manganese-based fuel additives such as MMT
(Methylcyclopentadienyl Manganese Tricarbonyl).
Genesis Branded Vehicle does not recommend the use of gasoline containing MMT.
This type of fuel can reduce vehicle performance and affect your emission control
system.
The malfunction indicator lamp on the cluster may come on.
Detergent Fuel Additives
Genesis Branded Vehicle recommends that you use good quality gasolines treated
with detergent additives such as TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline, which help prevent
deposit formation in the engine. These gasolines will help the engine run cleaner and
enhance performance of the Emission Control System. For more information on TOP
TIER Detergent Gasoline, please go to the website ( www.toptiergas.com).
For customers who do not use TOP Tier Detergent Gasoline regularly, and have
problems starting or the engine does not run smoothly, detergent-based fuel additives
that you can purchase separately may be added to the gasoline. If TOP TIER Detergent
Gasoline is not available, one bottle of additive added to the fuel tank at every 8,000
miles or 12 months is recommended.
Additives are available from your authorized retailer of Genesis Branded products
along with information on how to use them. Do not mix other additives.
Operation in foreign countries
If you are going to drive your vehicle in another country, be sure to:
• Observe all regulations regarding registration and insurance.
• Determine that acceptable fuel is available.

Information
Make sure to refuel your vehicle according
to the “Fuel Requirements” section in
suggested in chapter 1.
NOTICE
• Do not spill fuel on the exterior
surfaces of the vehicle. Any type of
fuel spilled on painted surfaces may
damage the paint.
• If the fuel filler cap requires
replacement, use only a genuine
Genesis cap or the equivalent
specified for your vehicle. An
incorrect fuel filler cap can result
in a serious malfunction of the fuel
system or emission control system.

WARNING
Tire failure may cause loss of
vehicle control resulting in an
accident. To reduce risk of SERIOUS
INJURY or DEATH, take the
following precautions:
• Inspect your tires monthly for
proper inflation as well as wear
and damage.
• The recommended cold tire
pressure for your vehicle can be
found in this manual and on the
tire label located on the driver’s
side center pillar. Always use a
tire pressure gauge to measure
tire pressure. Tires with too
much or too little pressure wear
unevenly causing poor handling.
• Check the pressure of the
spare every time you check the
pressure of the other tires on
your vehicle.
• Replace tires that are worn, show
uneven wear, or are damaged.
Worn tires can cause loss of
braking effectiveness, steering
control, or traction.
• ALWAYS replace tires with the
same size, type, construction and
tread pattern as each tire that
was originally supplied with this
vehicle. Using tires and wheels
other than the recommended
sizes could cause unusual
handling characteristics, poor
vehicle control, or negatively
affect your vehicle’s Anti-Lock
Brake System (ABS) resulting in a
serious accident.
Tire Care
For proper maintenance, safety, and
maximum fuel economy, you must
always maintain recommended
tire inflation pressures and stay
within the load limits and weight
distribution recommended for your
vehicle.
ORG3010025L
All specifications (sizes and
pressures) can be found on a label
attached to the driver’s side center
pillar.
Recommended Cold Tire
Inflation Pressures
All tire pressures (including the
spare) should be checked when the
tires are cold. “Cold tires” means the
vehicle has not been driven for at
least three hours or driven less than
one mile (1.6 km).
Warm tires normally exceed
recommended cold tire pressures
by 4 to 6 psi (28 to 41 kPa). Do not
release air from warm tires to adjust
the pressure or the tires will be
under-inflated. For recommended
inflation pressure, refer to “Tire and
Wheels” section in chapter 2.
