Your vehicle’s instrument panel is
equipped with this cluster or one verysimilar to it. The instrument panel cluster
includes these key features:

Check Warning Lights with OnStar
(if equipped)
If your vehicle is equipped with OnStar
and your Check Engine light or anyother warning message appears, youcan press the blue OnStar button and
speak to an OnStar Advisor. In many
vehicles, OnStar Advisors can accesscertain diagnostic information and tellyou how serious the problem is andwhat you should do about it.

SAFETY & SECURITY
Safety Belts
The safety belt shoulder straps feature
a park stitch (A) to prevent the safetybelt latch plate from contacting theinterior trim panel when the safety belt isnot in use. If you notice the latch platecontacting the trim panel, make sure thesafety belt latch plate is located abovethe park stitch in the belt.

Child Comfort Guide (Extended
Cabs and Crew Cabs only)
This feature provides added safety belt
comfort for smaller adults and for olderchildren who have outgrown boosterseats. When installed on a shoulder belt,the comfort guide better positions thebelt away from the neck and head. Onecomfort guide is provided for each rearseat outboard position.
Safety Belt Reminder
When the ignition key is turned to On
or Start, a chime sounds for severalseconds to remind passengers tobuckletheir safety belts. The safety belt
reminder light also illuminates and then
flashes for several seconds.
If the driver’s safety belt remains
unbuckled while the vehicle is in motion,the chime will continue to sound and thelight will continue to flash.

Engage the rear door security locks
1. Open a rear door and insert your
ignition key into the lock.
2. On the driver’s side rear door, turn
the key clockwise to engage the rear
door security lock (turn it counter clockwise on the opposite side reardoor).
3. Close the door.
Open the rear door when the security
lock is on
• Unlock and open the door from
outside the vehicle.
Return the rear doors to normal use
• On the driver’s side rear door, insert
the key and turn the lock counter clockwise (turn it clockwise on theopposite side rear door).

Passenger Airbag Status
Indicator
Your vehicle is equipped with a
Passenger Sensing System located inthe front passenger seat for the front
passenger frontal airbag, and a passen ger airbag status indicator located onthe center of the instrument panel.
See Sections 1 and 3 of your Owner Manual.
Note:It is recommended that children
not be placed in the front passengerseat, even with the Passenger Sensing
System. All children should be securedin a rear seat, including an infant ridingin a rear facing infant seat, a child ridingin a forward facing child seat or an olderchild riding in a booster seat.
Content Theft Deterrent System
(if equipped)
If your vehicle has the Remote Keyless
Entry (RKE) system, it also has a con tent theft deterrent alarm system.
The content theft
deterrent system isarmed when youlock the doors withthe RKE transmitterand all the doorsare closed. If thelock button on the RKE transmitter ispressed with a door open, the horn willchirp several times. Close the door to
arm the system. The security light will
flash when the system is armed.
The system will not be armed if the
doors are locked with a key, the manualdoor lock or the power door lock switch.
Alarm System
If a locked door is not opened using the
RKE transmitter or by OnStar, the horn
will chirp for several seconds and then
the alarm will sound. The alarm will flashthe front turn signal lamps and soundthe horn for two minutes.
To prevent the alarm from sounding,
unlock the doors using the RKE trans
mitter. To turn off the alarm, press theunlock button on the RKE transmitter or
start the engine using the correct key.
PASSlock®
Your vehicle also is equipped with the
PASSlock theft deterrent system thatrequires the correct key be used to startthe engine. If the correct key is not usedor the ignition lock cylinder is tamperedwith, the fuel system is disabled and theengine will not start.
