your passengers during a moderate-to-severe collision.
Child Safety (P63)
● All children 12 and younger should be seated in the rear seat.
● Smaller children should be properly restra ined in a forward-facing child seat.
● Infants must be properly restraine d in a rear-facing child seat.
Exhaust Gas Hazard (P76)
● Your vehicle emits dangerous exhaust gases that contain carbon
monoxide. Do not run the engine in confined spaces where carbon
monoxide gas can accumulate.

● Check engine oil, engine coolant, and windshield washer
fluid. Add when necessary.
● Check brake fluid.
● Check the battery condition monthly.
aPull the hood release handle under the corner of the
dashboard.
bLocate the hood latch lever, push it to the side, and then
raise the hood. Once you have raised the hood slightly, you
can release the lever.
cWhen finished, close the hood and make sure it is firmly
locked in place.

● Inspect all lights regularly.

● Replace blades if they leave streaks
across the windshield.

● Inspect tires and wheels regularly.

● Check for a blown fuse if an electrical

Airbag System Indicators
If a problem occurs in the airbag system , the SRS indicator will come on and a
message appears on the driver information interface*.
■When the ignition sw itch is turned to
ON
(w*1
The indicator comes on for a few seconds,
then goes off. This tells you the system is
working properly.
If the indicator comes on at any other time, or does not come on at all, have the
system checked by a dealer as soon as po ssible. If you don't, your airbags and seat
belt tensioners may not work properly when they are needed.

3WARNING
Ignoring the SRS indicator can result in
serious injury or death if the airbag systems
or tensioners do not work properly.
Have your vehicle checked by a dealer as
soon as possible if th e SRS indicator alerts
you to a possible problem.

with the brake system.
●The beeper sounds and the
indicator comes on if you drive
with the parking brake not fully
released.
●Comes on for about 15 seconds
when you pull the electric parking
brake switch while the ignition
switch is in LOCK

when you turn the ignition switch
to LOCK

parking brake is set.
●Comes on while driving - Make sure
the parking brake is released. Check the
brake fluid level.
2 What to do when the indicator
comes on while driving P. 621
●Comes on along with the brake
system indicator (amber) -
Immediately stop in a safe place. Contact
a dealer for repair. The brake pedal
becomes harder to operate. Depress the
pedal further than you normally do.
●Comes on along with the ABS
indicator - Have your vehicle checked by
a dealer.
2 If the Brake System Indicator (Red)
Comes On or Blinks P. 621
●Blinks and the brake system indicator
(amber) comes on at the same time -
There is a problem with the electric
parking brake system. The parking brake
may not be set.
Avoid using the parking brake and have
your vehicle checked by a dealer
immediately.

●Comes on when you turn the
ignition switch to ON

goes off when the engine starts, or
after several seconds if the engine
did not start. If “readiness codes”
have not been set, it blinks five
times before it goes off.
●Comes on if there is a problem
with the emissions control system.
●Blinks when a misfire in the
engine's cylinders is detected.
●Readiness codes are part of the on board
diagnostics for the emissions control
systems.

vehicle checked by a dealer.
●Blinks while driving - Stop in a safe
place where there are no flammable
objects. Stop the engine for 10 minutes
or more, and wait for it to cool down.

wearing a seat belt, the indicator
comes on a few seconds later.
●Blinks while driving if either you or
the front passenger has not
fastened a seat belt. The beeper
sounds and the indicator blinks at
regular intervals.

fasten their seat belts.

- A detection error may have occurred in
