Controls
■Locking the doors
Press the lock button.
Once: u Some exterior lights flash, all the doors
and tailgate lock, and the security system
sets.
Twice (within five se conds after the first
push):
u The beeper sounds and verifies the
security system is set.
■Unlocking the doors
Press the unlock button.
Once: u Some exterior lights flash twice, and the
driver’s door unlocks.
Twice:
u The remaining doors and tailgate unlock.
■Using the Remote Transmitter1Using the Remote Transmitter
If you do not open a door within 30 seconds of
unlocking the vehicle with the remote transmitter,
the doors will auto matically relock.
You can change the relock timer setting.

If the interior light switch is in the door activated
position, the interior light s come on when you press
the unlock button.
No doors opened: The li ghts fade out after 30
seconds.
Doors relocked with the remote: The lights go off

The remote transmitter us es low-power signals, so
the operating range may vary depending on the
surroundings.
The remote will not lock th e vehicle when a door or
the tailgate is open.
If the distance at which the remote transmitter works
varies, the batter y is probably low.
If the LED does not come on when you press a

You can customize the door lock mode and keyless
lock acknowledge ment setting.

Adjusting the Mirrors
Interior Rearview Mirror
Adjust the angle of the rearview mirror when you are sitting in the correct driving
position.
Flip the tab to switch the position.
The night position will help to reduce the glare
from headlights behind you when driving
after dark.
When driving after dark, the automatic
dimming rearview mirror reduce the glare
from headlights behind you.

Keep the inside and out side mirrors clean and
adjusted for best visibility.

Interior Lights
■ON
The interior lights come on regardless of
whether the doors are open or closed.
■Door activated
The interior lights come on in the following
situations:
• When any doors are opened.
• You unlock the driver’s door.
• When the power mode is set to VEHICLE
OFF (LOCK).
■OFF
The interior lights remain off regardless of
whether the tailgate or the doors are open or
closed.
■Interior Light Switches1 Interior Light Switches
In the door activated position, the interior lights fade
out and go off about 30 se conds after the doors are
closed.
The lights go off after 30 seconds in the following
situations:
•When you unlock the driver’s door but do not open
it.
•When you set the power mode to VEHICLE OFF
(LOCK) but do not open a door.
You can change the interi or lights dimming time.

The interior lights go off i mmediately in the following
situations:
•When you lock the driver’s door.
•When you close the driver’s door in ACCESSORY
mode.
•When you set the power mode to ON.
If you leave any doors open in VEHICLE OFF (LOCK)
mode, the interior light s go off after about 15
minutes.
When the interior light switch is in ON, if you close
the tailgate and all doors in VEHICLE OFF (LOCK)
mode, the interior light s go off after about 30
minutes.
However, when the battery is weaken, the interior
lights go off after about 30 minutes if any door is
open.

pressing the button when the front interior
light switch is in the door activated position.
■ON
The light comes on when you open the
tailgate, and goes off when closed.
■OFF

Pull the lever to open the glove box. You can
lock the glove box with the built-in key.
To open the console co mpartment, press the
button to unlock the lid, and then slide it
rearward.

passenger is wearing the seat belt.

■Storing items on the lid at the bottom
This is convenient when storing a tall item.
1. Pull the handle and open the lid.
2. Pull the lid towards you until it disengages
from the support rods.
3. Push the far end of the lid down to the
bottom of the under-floor storage area,
then lower the other end.1Storing items on the lid at the bottom
The lid can be fli pped over and placed in either upper
or lower position. This allows for storage of dirty
items, or items that may da mage the carpet lining of
the lid.
