Automatic lighting control can be used when 
the power mode is in ON.
When the light switch is in  AUTO, the 
headlights and other exterior lights will switch 
on and off automatica lly depending on the 
ambient brightness. u You can change the au to light sensitivity 
setting.

The headlights come on  when you unlock a 
door in dark areas with the headlight switch in 
AUTO .
u Once you lock the door, the headlights 
will go off.

We recommend that you tu rn on the lights manually 
when driving at night, in a  dense fog, or in dark areas 
such as long tunnels  or parking facilities.
The light sensor is in the location shown below.
Do not cover this light  sensor with anything; 
otherwise, the automatic lighting system may not 
work properly.

The headlights automatically come on when the wipers are used several times within 
a certain number of intervals  with the headlight switch in AUTO.
The headlights automatically go off a few minutes later if the wipers are stopped.
The headlights, all other exterior lights, a nd the instrument panel lights turn off 15 
seconds after you set the po wer mode to VEHICLE OFF (LOCK), take the remote with 
you, and close the driver’s door.
If you set the power mode to VEHICLE OFF  (LOCK) with the headlight switch on, but 
do not open the door, the lights turn off after 10 minutes (three minutes, if the 
switch is in the  AUTO position).
The lights turn on again when you unlock or open the driver’s door. If you unlock 
the door, but do not open it within 15 seconds, the lights go off. If you open the 
driver’s door, you will hear a lights on reminder chime.

1 Headlight Integration with Wipers
This feature activates during the headlights are off in 
AUTO .
The instrument panel br ightness does not change 
when the headlights come on.
At dark ambient light leve ls, the automatic lighting 
control feature turns on the headlights, regardless of 
the number of wiper sweeps.

Brightness Control
When the power mode is in ON, you can use 
the 
(+ or (- button to adjust instrument 
panel brightness.
Brighten:  Press the 
(+ button.
Dim:  Press the 
(- button.
You will hear a beeper  when the brightness 
reaches minimum or maximum. Several 
seconds after you have adjusted the 
brightness, you will be returned to the 
previous screen.
■Brightness level indicator
The brightness level is shown on the display 
while you are adjusting it.
1 Brightness Control
Instrument panel brightne ss varies, depending on 
whether the exterior lights are on or off. The 
instrument panel dims to  reduce glare when they are 
on.
When it is bright out side and the headlight 
integration with the wi per is activated, the 
instrument panel bri ghtness does not change.
To cancel the reduced in strument panel brightness 
when the exterior lights are on, press the 
( + button 
until the brightness display is up to max, the beeper 
sounds.
The brightness can be set  differently for when the 
exterior lights are on, and when they are off.

Interior Lights
■ON
The interior lights come on regardless of 
whether the tailgate and doors are open or 
closed.
■Door activated
The interior lights come on in the following 
situations:
• When the tailgate or any doors are opened.
• You unlock the driver’s door.
• When the power mode is set to VEHICLE 
OFF (LOCK).
■OFF
The interior lights remain off regardless of 
whether the tailgate or the doors are open or 
closed.
■Interior Light Switches1 Interior Light Switches
In the door activated position,  the interior lights fade 
out and go off about 30 se conds after the doors are 
closed.
The lights go off after  about 30 seconds in the 
following situations:
•When you unlock the driver’s door but do not open 
it.
•When you set the power mode to VEHICLE OFF 
(LOCK) but do not open a door.
You can change the interi or lights dimming time.

The interior lights go off i mmediately in the following 
situations:
•When you lock the driver’s door.•When you close the driver’s door in ACCESSORY 
mode.
•When you set the power mode to ON.
If you leave any of the  tailgate or doors open in 
VEHICLE OFF (LOCK) mode, th e interior lights go off 
after about 15 minutes.
To avoid draining the ba ttery, do not leave the 
interior light on for an extended length of time when 
the engine or power  system is off.

Use the system when the engine is ru nning and the heating and cooling is 
operating.
1. Press the  REAR   (Rear On/Off) button.
2. Press the  RR SETTINGS  button.
u The system switches to the rear  control mode for 10 seconds. The  REAR 
indicator appears on the display.
u The system adjusts the rear  heating and cooling system.
3. To turn off the rear heating  and cooling system, press the  REAR   (Rear On/
Off) button.

Climate Control System*
Using Automatic Climate Control
The automatic climate control system maintains the interior temperature you select. 
The system also selects the proper mix of h eated or cooled air that will as quickly as 
possible, raise or lower the interior  temperature to your preference.
Use the system when the engine is running.
1. Press the  AUTO button.
2. Adjust the interior temperature using the driver’s side or passenger’s side 
temperature control switch.
3. Press the    ON/OFF button to cancel.1Using Automatic Climate Control
If any buttons are presse d while using the climate 
control system in auto, the function of the button 
that was pressed will take priority.
The  AUTO  indicator will go off, but functions 
unrelated to the button th at was pressed will be 
controlled automatically.
During idle-stops, air-conditioning is suspended, and 
only the blower remains active.
If you do not want air-cond itioning suspended, press 
the Auto Idle Stop OFF  button to cancel idle-stop.
To prevent cold air from bl owing in from outside, the 
fan may operate at low speed for a while after the 
AUTO  button has been pressed.
If the interior is very warm, you can cool it down 
more rapidly by partial ly opening the windows, 
turning the system on auto, and setting the 
temperature to low. Change the fresh mode to 
recirculation mode  until the temperature cools down.
When you set the temperature to the lower or upper 
limit,  Lo or  Hi is displayed.

Rear Climate Control System
Use the system when the engine is runni ng and the climate control system is 
operating.
1. Press the  REAR   (Rear On/Off) button.
2. Press the  RR SETTINGS  button.
u The system switches to the rear  control mode for 10 seconds. The  REAR 
indicator appears on the display.

LOCK  appears on the rear control panel while the 
rear lock is on.
If the rear lock is on while in SYNC mode, the rear 
control panel is disabled.  LOCK SYNC appears on the 
rear control panel.

About Your Audio System
The audio system features AM/FM radio and SiriusXM ® Radio* service. It can also 
play audio CDs*, WMA/MP3/AAC files*, USB flash drives, and iPod, iPhone, iPad* 
and  Bluetooth ® devices.
You can operate the audi o system from the buttons
* and knobs on the panel, the 
remote controls on the steering wheel,  or the icons on the touchscreen interface*.

SiriusXM ® Radio is available  on a subscription basis 
only. For more information on SiriusXM ® Radio, 
contact a dealer.

After you set the power m ode to VEHICLE OFF, you 
can use the audio system for up to 30 minutes per 
driving cycle, or until opening the driver's door.
However, whether you can  continue using the audio 
system depends on the batter y condition. Repeatedly 
using this feature ma y drain the battery.

USB Ports
Install the iPod USB connector or the USB flash 
drive to the USB port.
■On the console panel
The USB port (1.0A) is for playing audio files 
on the USB flash drive, connecting a cell 
phone, and charging devices.
The USB port (2.5A) is for charging devices, 
playing audio files and connecting compatible 
phones with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
■In the consol e compartment
The USB port (2.5A) is only for charging 
devices.
1 USB Ports
•Do not leave the iPod or USB flash drive in the 
vehicle. Direct sunlight and high temperatures may 
damage it.
•We recommend using an ex tension cable with the 
USB port.
•Do not connect the iPod or USB flash drive using a hub.
•Do not use a device such as a card reader or hard disk 
drive, as the device or your files may be damaged.
•We recommend backing up yo ur data before using 
the device in your vehicle.
•Displayed messages may  vary depending on the 
device model and software version.
If the audio system does  not recognize the iPod, try 
reconnecting it a few times  or reboot the device. To 
reboot, follow the manufac turer’s instructions 
provided with the iPod or visit  www.apple.com/ipod.
The USB port can supply up to 1.0A/2.5A of power. It 
does not output 1.0A/2.5A unless the device 
requests.
For amperage details, read  the operating manual of 
the device that ne eds to be charged.
Set the power mode to ACCESSORY or ON first.
This port is for battery charge only. You cannot play 
music even if you have conne cted a music player to it.
