Adjusting the Steering Wheel
The steering wheel height and distance from your body can be adjusted so that you
can comfortably grip the steering wheel in an appropriate driving posture.
1. While the vehicle is stopped, push the
steering wheel adjustment lever down.
u The steering wheel adjustment lever is
under the steering column.
2. Move the steering wheel up or down, and
in or out.
u Make sure you can see the instrument
panel gauges and indicators.
3. Pull the steering wheel adjustment lever up
to lock the steering wheel in position.
u After adjusting the position, make sure
you have securely locked the steering
wheel in place by trying to move it up,

3WARNING
Adjusting the steering wheel position while
driving may cause you to lose control of the
vehicle and be seriously injured in a crash.
Adjust the steering wheel only when the
vehicle is stopped.

■Folding in the door mirrors
Press the lock button on the remote transmi tter, or touch the door lock sensor on
any door. u The mirrors start folding in automatically.
■Folding out the door mirrors
Unlock the driver’s door using the key, press the unlock button on the remote
transmitter, or grab the door handle on any door.
u The mirrors start folding out automatically.

If you use the fold button to fold the door mirrors,
the auto folding door mirror function will not work.
You can turn the automa tic folding door mirror
function on and off.

door lock switch.

Front Seats
Adjust the driver’s seat as far back as possible
while allowing you to ma intain full control of
the vehicle. You should be able to sit upright,
well back in the seat and be able to
adequately press the pedals without leaning
forward, and grip the steering wheel
comfortably. The passenger’s seat should be
adjusted in a similar manner, so that it is as far
back from the front airbag in the dashboard
as possible.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
and Transport Cana da recommend that drivers allow
at least 10 inches (25 cm) between the center of the
steering wheel and the chest.
3WARNING
Sitting too close to a front airbag can result
in serious injury or death if the front
airbags inflate.
Always sit as far back from the front
airbags as possible while maintaining
control of the vehicle.

Once a seat is adjusted co rrectly, rock it back and
forth to make sure it is locked in position.
3WARNING
An unsecured seat or seat-back can move
out of position or collapse without warning
if there is sudden acce leration or stop or in
a crash.
A seat or seat-back that suddenly moves or
collapses can result in severe injury or
death.
Always make sure all seats and seat-backs
are securely locked in to position before
driving.

The second row outer seat-backs can be folded down to make room for cargo.
1. Store the center seat belt first. Insert the la tch plate into the slot on the side of the
anchor buckle.
2. Retract the seat belt into the holder on the ceiling.

3.Lower the head restraint to its lowest position.
4.Move the seat to it s rearmost position.
5. Pull the seat-back angle adjustment lever,
then fold the seat-back down.
To return the seat to th e original position, pull
up the seat-back in the upright position.

Make sure that the folded seat-back does not press
against the front passenger’s seat, as this can cause
the weight sensors in the front passenger’s seat to

The front seat(s) must be far enough forward so they
do not interfere with the second row seats as they
fold down.
To lock the seat-back upri ght, push it backwards until
it locks.
Make sure the seat-back, head restraints and seat
cushion are securely latche d back into place before
driving.
Make sure the center shoulde r belt is re-positioned in
the holding slot.

Your vehicle’s multi-functional second row center seat is removable.
1.Store the center seat belt first. Insert the
latch plate into the slot on the side of the
anchor buckle.
2. Retract the seat belt into the holder on the
ceiling.

3.Pull up the strap and fold down the second
row center seat-back.
4. Pull the lock release strap under the seat
cushion, and lift the rear of the seat.
u To lift the seat, grab the handle under
the rear side of the seat cushion.
5. Pull the seat-back slig htly, then pivot it
upward.
u This unhooks the front of the seat from
the floor.

Do not remove the seat while driving.
The multi-functional center seat can be used as the
beverage holder when folded down. 2 Beverage Holders P. 264
The indicator shows red when the seat is not installed
properly.
To reinstall the seat, remove all objects and debris
from the vehicle floor where the seat will be
attached. Insert the front hooks into the front
strikers, confirming that both are fully engaged.
Begin to lower the rear of the seat; once the seat is
within a foot of the floor, allow the seat to drop and
lock to the rear floor strikers. Raise the seat-back to
an upright position, grab the seat-back and rock it
back and forth to confirm that all latches are secured.
Check the indicator on the fr ont of the seat base. If
the indicator is red, the seat is not correctly installed.
Remove the seat and then reinstall.

Head restraints can be removed for cleaning or repair.
To remove a head restraint:
Pull the restraint up as far as it will go. Then, push the release button and pull the
restraint up and out.
To reinstall a head restraint:
Insert the legs back in place, then adjust the head restraint to an appropriate height
while pressing the release button. Pull up on the restraint to make sure it is locked
in position.
To remove a head restraint:
Pull the restraint up as far as it will go. Then push the release buttons which are
located on the both legs at the same time, and pull the restraint up and out.
To reinstall a head restraint:
Insert the legs back in place, then adjust the head restraint to an appropriate height
while pressing the right release button. Pull up on the restraint to make sure it is
locked in position.

To remove and install the front head restraint, recline
the seat-back slightly forward as the space between
the ceiling and the seat-back is limited.
3WARNING
Failure to reinstall, or correctly reinstall, the
head restraints can result in severe injury
during a crash.
Always replace the he ad restraints before
driving.

Interior Lights
■ON
The interior lights come on regardless of
whether the tailgate and doors are open or
closed.
■Door activated
The interior lights come on in the following
situations:
• When the tailgate or any doors are opened.
• You unlock the driver’s door.
• When the power mode is set to VEHICLE
OFF.
■OFF
The interior lights remain off regardless of
whether the tailgate or any doors are open or
closed.
■Interior Light Switches1 Interior Light Switches
In the door activated position, the interior lights fade
out and turn off about 30 seconds after the doors are
closed.
The lights turn off afte r about 30 seconds in the
following situations:
•When you unlock the driver’s door but do not open
it.
•When you set the power mode to VEHICLE OFF but
do not open a door.
You can change the interi or lights dimming time.
