3. If the transaxle fluid level is low, use
a funnel to add transaxle fluid through the dipstick tube until the levelreaches the "HOT" range. Do not overfill.
WARNING:
The cooling fan is controlled by en- gine coolant temperature and maysometimes operate even when the engine is not running. Use extreme caution when working near the bladesof the cooling fan, so that you are not injured by a rotating fan blade. As the engine coolant temperature decreas-es, the fan will automatically shut off. This is a normal condition.
1. Open the hood, being careful to keep
hands, long hair and clothing clear of any moving parts. WARNING (Diesel only):
Never work on injection system withengine running or within 30 seconds after shutting off engine. High pres- sure pump, rail, injectors and highpressure pipes are subjected to high pressure even after the engine has been switched off. The fuel jet pro-duced by fuel leaks may cause seri- ous injury, if it contacts with the body. People using pacemakersshould not move closer than 30cm to the ECU or wiring harness within the engine room with the engine run-ning, since the high currents in the Common Rail system produce con- siderable magnetic fields.

2. Remove the transaxle dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert the dipstick as far as it will go, then remove it again.Now check the fluid level on the dipstick. It should be in the "HOT" range on the dipstick. G110D03A

G140A01A-AAT Keeping the Condenser Clean The air conditioning condenser (and engine radiator) should be checkedperiodically for accumulation of dirt, dead insects, leaves, etc. These can interfere with maximum cooling effi-ciency. 1. Start the engine and let it run at a
fast idle for several minutes with the air conditioning set at the maximum cold setting.
2. If the air coming out of the in-dash vents is not cold, have the air condi-tioning system inspected by yourHyundai dealer.
G140C01A-AAT Lubrication To lubricate the compressor and the seals in the system, the air conditioning should be run for at least 10 minuteseach week. This is particularly important during cool weather when the air condi- tioning system is not otherwise in use.
! CAUTION:
Running the air conditioning sys- tem for extended periods of time with a low refrigerant level may damage the compressor.
G130B02A-AAT To Replace the Fluid Recommended brake fluid conforming to DOT 3 or DOT 4 specification shouldbe used. The reservoir cap must be fully tightened to avoid contamination from foreign matter or moisture. NOTE: Do not allow any other liquids to contaminate the brake fluid. Sealdamage will result.
WARNING:
Use caution when handling brake fluid. It can damage your vision if you get it in your eyes. It will alsodamage your vehicles paint if spilled on it and not removed immediately.

To check the power steering fluid level, be sure the ignition is "OFF", thencheck to make certain that the power steering fluid level is between the "MAX" and "MIN" level markings on the fluidreservoir. NOTE: Grinding noise from the power steer- ing pump may be heard immediatelyafter the engine is started in extremely cold conditions (below - 20°C). If the noise stops during warm up, there isno abnormal function in the system. HLC5006

WARNING:
Never remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. The engine coolant is under pressure and could erupt and cause severe burns. Wait untilthe engine is cool before removing the radiator cap.
HLC2053 The needle on the engine coolant tem- perature gauge should stay in the nor-mal range. If it moves across the dial to "H" (Hot), pull over and stop as soon as possible and turn off the engine. Thenopen the hood and, after the engine has cooled, check the coolant level and the water pump drive belt. If you suspectcooling system trouble, have your cool- ing system checked by a Hyundai dealer as soon as possible.

The directionof air flow from the vents in the center of the dashboard is adjustable. To control the direction of the air flow,move the knob in the center of the vent up-and-down and side-to-side. B710C02HP-AAT SIDE VENTILATOR The side ventilators are located on each side of dashboard. To change thedirection of the air flow, move the knob in the center of the vent up-and-down and side-to-side.The vents are opened when the vent knob is moved to " " position. The vents are closed when the vent knob ismoved to " ". Keep these vents clear of any obstructions.

Defrost-Level
Air is discharged through the wind- shield defroster nozzle, side defroster nozzle, side ventilator. If the "Defrost" mode is selected, the airconditioning will be turned on automati- cally to improve windshield defrosting. And if you want to turn off the airconditioning, push the A/C button.
This control is used to adjust the degree of heating or cooling desired. For normal heating operation, set the air intake control to the fresh air ( ) position and the air flow control to the floor ( ) position.For faster heating, the air intake con- trol should be set in the recirculate ( ) position.If the windows fog up, set the air flow control to the defrost ( ) position (The air conditioning will be turned on auto-matically) and the air intake control to the fresh air ( ) position. For maximum heat, move the tem-perature control to "Warm".

o To prevent interior fog on the wind-shield, set the air intake control to the fresh air ( ) position, fan speed to the desired position, turn on the air conditioning system, and ad-just temperature control to desired temperature.
o Set the air intake control to the fresh ( ) position.
o Set the air flow control to the defrost ( ) position. (The air conditioningwill be turned on automatically.)
o Set the temperature control to warm.

o To keep dust or unpleasant fumes
from entering the car through the ventilation system, temporarily setthe air intake control at "Recircula- tion". Be sure to return the control to "Fresh" when the irritation haspassed to keep fresh air in the ve- hicle. This will help keep the driver alert and comfortable.
o Air for the heating/cooling system is drawn in through the grilles justahead of the windshield. Care shouldbe taken that these are not blocked by leaves, snow, ice or other ob- structions.
To remove the frost or exterior fog on the windshield:
NOTE: When the A/C is operated continu- ously on the floor-defrost level ( ) or defrost level ( ), it may causefog to form on the exterior wind- shield. If this occurs, set the air flow control to the face level posi-tion ( ) and fan speed control to the low position.
