o Fuel vapors are dangerous. Be- fore refueling, always stop the en- gine and never allow sparks or open flames near the filler area. If you need to replace the filler cap,use a genuine Hyundai replace- ment part. If you open the fuel filler cap dur-ing high ambient temperatures, a slight "pressure sound" may be heard. This is normal and not acause for concern. Whenever you open the fuel filler cap, turn it slowly.!

The fuel-filler lid may be opened from inside the vehicle by pulling up on the fuel-filler lid opener located on the front floor area on the left side of the car. NOTE: If the fuel-filler lid will not open be- cause ice has formed around it, taplightly or push on the lid to break the ice and release the lid. Do not pry on the lid. If necessary, spray aroundthe lid with an approved de-icer fluid (do not use radiator anti-freeze) or move the vehicle to a warm placeand allow the ice to melt.

B670E02A-AAT Temperature Control This control is used to adjust the degree of heating or cooling desired. For normal heating operation, set the air intake control to the fresh air ( ) position and the air flow control to the floor ( ) position.For faster heating, the air intake con- trol should be set in the recirculate ( ) position.If the windows fog up, set the air flow control to the defrost ( ) position (The air conditioning will be turned on auto-matically) and the air intake control to the fresh air ( ) position. For maximum heat, move the tem-perature control to "Warm".

To remove the frost or exterior fog on the windshield:
o Set the air flow control to the defrost (

o To keep dust or unpleasant fumesfrom entering the car through the ventilation system, temporarily set the air intake control at the (

position. Be sure to return the control to the (

irritation has passed to keep fresh air in the vehicle. This will help keep thedriver alert and comfortable.
o Air for the heating/cooling system is
drawn in through the grilles justahead of the windshield. Care should be taken that these are not blocked by leaves, snow, ice or other ob-structions.
o To prevent interior fog on the wind-
shield, set the air intake control tothe fresh air (
) position, fan
speed to the desired position, turn on the air conditioning system, and ad-just temperature control to desired temperature.
NOTE: When the A/C is operated continu- ously on the floor-defrost level ( ) or defrost level ( ), it may causefog to form on the exterior wind- shield. If this occurs, set the air flow control to the face level posi-tion ( ) and fan speed control to the low position.

B970C01NF-GAT Automatic Operation The FATC (Full Automatic Tempera- ture Control) system automatically con- trols heating and cooling by doing as follows:
1. Push the "AUTO" switch. The indi-
cator light will illuminate confirming that the Face, Floor and/or Bi-Level modes as well as the blower speed and air conditioner will be controlledautomatically. 2. Turn the "TEMP" knob to set the
desired temperature.The temperature will increase to the maximum 32°C(90°F) by turning the knob clockwise.The temperature will decrease to the minimum 17°C(62°F) by turning the knob counterclockwise.
NOTE: If the battery has been discharged or disconnected, the temperature modewill reset to Centigrade degrees. This is a normal condition and you can change the temperature modefrom Centigrade to Fahrenheit as follows; Press the "OFF" and "AUTO " switch simultaneously for 3 seconds.The display shows that the unit of temperature is adjusted to Centigrade or Fahrenheit (°C
°F or °F
°C).

Floor-Defrost Level
When selecting the "Floor-Defrost Level" mode, the indicator light will come on and the air will be discharged throughthe windshield defroster nozzle, the floor vents, side defroster nozzle and side ventilator.If any of the temperature control switch, the blower fan control switch, or the defrost switch is selected in "Floor-Defrost" mode, the A/C will turn on automatically and "Fresh" mode will be activated. B980F02E-GAT Defrost Switch When the "Defrost" button is pressed, the " " mode will be automatically selected and the air will be dischargedthrough the windshield defroster nozzle, side defroster nozzle and side ventila- tor. To assist in defrosting, the airconditioning will operate if ambient tem- perature is higher than 3.5°C and auto- matically turns off if the ambient tem-perature drops below 3.5°C.

o Before entering an automatic car wash, remove by turning the an-tenna counterclockwise to prevent damage to the micro antenna. Toinstall the antenna, turn the an- tenna clockwise.
