✽NOTICE
• When leaving the parking space
turn the steering wheel as much as
you can to the direction you are
leaving, and then drive the vehicle
slowly by depressing the vehicle.
• Always check the surrounding
before driving your vehicle if the
Parking Assist System warning
sound (distance from object is
within 30cm: continuous beep) is
heard for the object is close to
your vehicle.
If the vehicle gets too close to the
object, the warning will not sound.
• The system will be cancelled for
safety reasons if the vehicle is
parked at a small space near a wall.
Additional instructions
(messages)
When the Smart Parking Assist
System is operating, a message may
appear regardless of the exiting order.
The messages will appear according
to the circumstances. Follow the
instructions provided whilst parking
your vehicle with the Smart Parking
Assist System.
✽NOTICE
• In the below conditions the system
will be cancelled. Park your vehi-
cle manually.
- When the ABS (Anti-lock Brake
System) is activated
- When the TCS (Traction Control
System) /ESC (Electronic Stability
Control) is turned off
• In the below condition the system
will not activate
- When the TCS/ESC is turned off

System malfunction
• If there is a problem with the sys-
tem, when the system is turned on,
the above message will appear.
Also, the indicator on the button
will not light up and a beep sound
will be heard 3 times.
• If there is a problem with only the
Smart Parking Assist System, the
Parking Assist System will operate
after 2 seconds.
If you notice any problem, we recom-
mend that the system be checked by
a HYUNDAI authorised repairer.The system may not work prop-
erly by providing incorrect mes-
sages when the sensors are
interfered by other vehicle sen-
sors and noise, or it is on a road
that interferes with receiving
signals.

Parking Guide System
(For Europe, if equipped)
The Parking Guide System (PGS)
will activate when the back-up light is
ON with the Engine Start/Stop button
ON and the shift lever in the R
(Reverse) position.The Parking Guide System is not a
substitute for proper and safe park-
ing procedures. The Parking Guide
System may not detect every object
surrounding the vehicle.
Always drive safely and use caution
when parking.
Parking Guide System (PGS)

1.Changing rear view angle
Changes the view angle of the rear
camera. (Top view ↔Normal view)
2.Parking guide line
According to the steering angle, the
parking guide line is displayed to
help parking.

Changing rear view angle
1. Top view
When Top View is selected, the rear
view angle is displayed as if looking
down from above.
2. Normal view
When Normal View is selected, the
rear view angle is displayed in a cus-
tomary view with a normal rear view
perspective.
Around View Monitoring (AVM)
System
The Around View Monitoring (AVM)
System can assist in parking by allow-
ing the driver to see around the vehi-
cle. Push the button into the ON posi-
tion to operate the system. To cancel
the system, push the button again.
Operating conditions
- When the Engine Start/Stop button
is in the ON position
- When the shift lever is on D, N or R
- When vehicle speed is not over 12
mph (20km/h)

✽NOTICE
• When vehicle speed is over 12 mph
(20km/h), the AVM system will
turn off. The system will not auto-
matically turn on again, even if
vehicle speed returns to below 12
mph (20 km/h). Push the AVM
button again, to turn on the sys-
tem.
• When the vehicle is backing up,
the AVM system will turn ON
regardless of vehicle speed or
AVM button status. However, if
vehicle speed is over 6 mph (10
km/h) when driving forward, the
AVM system will turn off.
• A warning appears on the AVM
system when:
- The boot is opened
- The driver's door is opened
- A passenger's door is opened
- The outside rearview mirror is
folded
• If the AVM system is not operating
normally, the system should be
checked by a HYUNDAI autho-
rised repairer.

supplied with your vehicle. (1) Front camera

• Around View Monitoring (AVM)
System only serves to assist
the driver in parking. ALWAYS
look around your vehicle to
make sure there are no objects
or obstacles before moving the
vehicle.
• Always keep the camera lens
clean. The camera may not
work normally if the lens is
covered with foreign material.CAUTION

DEFROSTER
✽
NOTICE
If you want to defrost and defog the
front windscreen, refer to
“Windscreen Defrosting and
Defogging” in this chapter.
Rear window defroster
The defroster heats the window to
remove frost, fog and thin ice from
the interior and exterior of the rear
window, whilst the engine is running.• To activate the rear window
defroster, press the rear window
defroster button located in the cen-
tre facia switch panel. The indicator
on the rear window defroster but-
ton illuminates when the defroster
is ON.
• To turn off the defroster, press the
rear window defroster button again.
✽NOTICE
• If there is heavy accumulation of
snow on the rear window, brush it
off before operating the rear
defroster.
• The rear window defroster auto-
matically turns off after approxi-
mately 20 minutes or when the
Engine Start/Stop button is in the
OFF position.
To prevent damage to the con-
ductors bonded to the inside
surface of the rear window,
never use sharp instruments or
window cleaners containing
abrasives to clean the window.

Outside mirror defroster
If your vehicle is equipped with the
outside mirror defrosters, they will
operate at the same time you turn on
the rear window defroster.
Front wiper deicer
If your vehicle is equipped with the
wiper deicer, it will operate at the
same time you turn on the rear win-
dow defroster.

Engine Start/Stop button is in
the ON position could cause the
battery to discharge. Operate
the blower when the engine is
running.

Automatic heating and air con-
ditioning
1. Press the AUTO button.
The modes, fan speeds, air intake
and air conditioning will be controlled
automatically according to the tem-
perature setting.
2. Turn the temperature control knob
to set the desired temperature.
✽NOTICE
• To turn the automatic operation off,
select any button of the following:
- Mode selection button
- Front windscreen defrost button
(Press the button one more time
to deselect the front windscreen
defroster function. The 'AUTO'
sign will illuminate on the infor-
mation display once again.)
- Fan speed control button
The selected function will be con-
trolled manually whilst other
functions operate automatically.
• For your convenience, use the
AUTO button and set the temper-
ature to 23°C (73°F).

✽NOTICE
Never place anything near the sen-
sor to ensure better control of the
heating and cooling system.
Manual heating and air condi-
tioning
The heating and cooling system can
be controlled manually by pushing
buttons other than the AUTO button.
In this case, the system works
sequentially according to the order of
buttons selected. When pressing any
button except the AUTO button whilst
using automatic operation, the func-
tions not selected will be controlled
automatically.
1.Start the engine.
2.Set the mode to the desired posi-
tion.
For improving the effectiveness of
heating and cooling;
- Heating:
- Cooling:
3.Set the temperature control to the
desired position.
4.Set the air intake control to the out-
side (fresh) air position.5.Set the fan speed control to the
desired speed.
6.If air conditioning is desired, turn
the air conditioning system on.
Press the AUTO button in order to
convert to full automatic control of
the system.
