B350C01L-AAT Adjustable Intermittent Wiper Operation To use the intermittent wiper feature, place the wiper switch in the "INT"position. With the switch in this posi- tion, the interval between wipes can be varied from approximately 1 to 18 sec-onds by turning the interval adjuster barrel. When the windshield wiper switch is placed in the "AUTO" position, the rain sensor located on the upper end ofwindshield glass senses the amount of rainfall and controls for the appropriate length of the intervals between wipesappropriately. NOTE: If there is heavy accumulation of snow or ice on the windshield glass,there will be a 10 minute waiting period prior to the operation of the windshield wipers.
Mist Wiper Operation If a single wipe is desired in mist, push the MIST operation switch at the end of the windshield wiper and washer control lever. HHP275
NOTE:
o Do not operate the washer more
than 15 seconds at a time or when the fluid reservoir is empty.
o In icy or freezing weather, be sure the wiper blades are notfrozen to the glass prior to oper-ating the wipers.
o In areas where water freezes in
winter, use windshield washerantifreeze.

C160G01A-GAT To Keep Locks from Freezing To keep the locks from freezing, squirt an approved de-icer fluid or glycerineinto the key opening. If a lock is cov- ered with ice, squirt it with an approved de-icing fluid to remove the ice. If thelock is frozen internally, you may be able to thaw it out by using a heated key. Handle the heated key with careto avoid injury. NOTE: The proper temperature for using the immobilizer key is from -40°C to80°C. If you heat the immobilizer key over 80°C to open the frozen lock, it may cause damage to thetransponder in its head. C160I01A-AAT Don't Let Your Parking Brake Freeze Under some conditions your parking brake can freeze in the engaged posi- tion. This is most likely to happenwhen there is an accumulation of snow or ice around or near the rear brakes or if the brakes are wet. If there is a riskthe parking brake may freeze, apply it only temporarily while you put the gear selector lever in "P" (automatic) or infirst or reverse gear (manual transaxle) and block the rear wheels so the car cannot roll. Then release the parkingbrake.
C160H01A-AAT Use Approved Anti-Freeze in WindowWasher System To keep the water in the window washer system from freezing, add an approved anti-freeze solution in accordance withinstructions on the container. Window washer anti-freeze is available from Hyundai dealers and most auto partsoutlets. Do not use engine coolant or other types of anti-freeze as these may damage the finish.
C160K01A-AAT Carry Emergency Equipment Depending on the severity of the weather where you drive your car, you should carry appropriate emergency equipment. Some of the items youmay want to carry include tire chains, tow straps or chains, flashlight, emer- gency flares, sand, a shovel, jumpercables, a window scraper, gloves, ground cloth, coveralls, a blanket, etc.
C160J01A-AAT Don't Let Ice and Snow Accumu- late Underneath Under some conditions, snow and ice can build up under the fenders and interfere with the steering. When driv-ing in severe winter conditions where this may happen, you should periodi- cally check underneath the car to besure the movement of the front wheels and the steering components is not obstructed.

WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADES
The wiper blades should be carefully
inspected from time to time and cleaned to remove accumulations of road film or other debris. To clean thewiper blades and arms, use a clean sponge or cloth with a mild soap or detergent and water. If the wiperscontinue to streak or smear the glass, replace them with Genuine Hyundai Replacement parts or their equiva-lent. HEF119

FILLING THE WASHER RESER- VOIR
The washer fluid reservoir supplies fluid to the windshield washer sys- tem. HXG2007
NOTE:
o Do not operate the wipers on dry glass. This can result in more rapid wear of the wiper blades and may scratch the glass.
o Keep the blade rubber out of contact with petroleum productssuch as engine oil, gasoline, etc.
The replacement of air cleaner filter isperformed in the following manner.
1. Unsnap the clips around the cover.
2. When this is done, the cover can be lifted off, the old filter removed and the new filter put in its place.
Genuine Hyundai Replacement Partsare recommended.
CAUTION:
o Operating your vehicle without a proper air filter in place canresult in excessive engine wear.
o When removing the air cleaner
filter, be careful that dust or dirt does not enter the air intake. These may result in damage tothe air cleaner filter.

CHECKING THE TRANSAXLE OIL (MANUAL)
Transaxle lubricant in the manual
transaxle should be checked at those intervals specified in the vehicle main-
tenance schedule in Section 5. Recommended Oil
Use only HYUNDAI GENUINE
PARTS MTF 75W/90 (API GL-4) in the manual transaxle. Manual Transaxle Oil Capacity
The oil capacity of the manual
transaxle is 2.1 liters (2.2 U.S. quarts). Drain plug

It is always better to check the

To check the Transaxle Fluid Level

Park the car on level ground with the engine off.
A good quality washer fluid should be used to fill the washer reservoir. The fluid level should be checked morefrequently during inclement weather or whenever the washer system is in more frequent use.The capacity of the washer reservoiris 3.0 liters (3.2 U.S. quarts).
CAUTION:
o Radiator antifreeze (engine cool- ant) should not be used in thewasher system because it willdamage the car's finish.
o The washer should not be oper-
ated if the washer reservoir is empty. This can damage the washer fluid pump.
