WARNING:
Never remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. The engine cool-ant is under pressure and could erupt and cause severe burns. Wait until the engine is cool before re-moving the radiator cap.
The needle on the engine coolant tem-perature gauge should stay in the nor-mal range. If it moves across the dial to "H" (Hot), pull over and stop as soon as possible and turn off the engine. Then open the hood and, after the engine has cooled, check the coolant level and thewater pump drive belt. If you suspect cooling system trouble, have your cool- ing system checked by a Hyundai dealeras soon as possible.

Avoid driving with a very low fuel level. If you run out of fuel, it could cause the engine to misfire and re-sult in excessive loading of the cata- lytic converter.

B340A01A-AAT Turn Signal Operation Pulling down on the lever causes the turn signals on the left side of the car toblink. Pushing upwards on the lever causes the turn signals on the right side of the car to blink. As the turn iscompleted, the lever will automatically return to the center position and turn off the turn signals at the same time. Ifeither turn signal indicator light blinks more rapidly than usual, goes on but does not blink, or does not go on at all,there is a malfunction in the system. Check for a burned-out fuse or bulb or see your Hyundai dealer.
Function of digital odometer/trip odometer
Pushing in the reset switch when the ignition switch is turned "ON" will dis-play the following sequence:

B340E01A-AAT Headlight Flasher To flash the headlights, pull the switch lever toward you, then release it. The headlights can be flashed even though the headlight switch is in the "OFF"position. HHR2003B340D01A-AAT High-beam Switch
To turn on the headlight high beams, push the lever forward (away fromyou). The high beam indicator light will come on at the same time. For low beams, pull the lever back toward you. HHR2002

Parking Light Auto Cut
o The purpose of this feature is to
prevent the battery from being dis- charged. The system automatically turns off the small light when the driver removes the ignition key andopens the driver- side door.
o With this feature, the parklight will be
turned off automatically if the driverparks on the side of road at night.
If necessary, to keep the lights on whenthe ignition key is removed, perform thefollowing :
1) Open the driver-side door.
2) Turn the parklights OFF and ON
again using the light switch on the steering column.

B350D01O-GAT Windshield Washer Operation To use the windshield washer, pull the wiper/washer lever toward the steering wheel. When the washer lever is oper-ated, the wipers automatically make two passes across the windshield. The washer continues to operate untilthe lever is released. NOTE:
o Do not operate the washer morethan 15 seconds at a time or when the fluid reservoir is empty.
o In icy or freezing weather, be sure
the wiper blades are not frozen tothe glass prior to operating the wipers.
o In areas where water freezes in winter, use windshield washerantifreeze.
B350C02O-AAT Adjustable Intermittent Wiper Operation To use the intermittent wiper feature, place the wiper switch (1) in the "INT (- --)" position.With the switch in this position, the interval between wipes can be varied from approximately 1 to 18 seconds byturning the interval adjuster barrel.

tem, do not attempt to wipe away heavy accumulations of snow or ice.Accumulated snow and ice should be removed manually. If there is only a light layer of snow or ice, operate theheater in the defrost mode to melt the snow or ice before using the wiper.

To adjust the headlight beam level ac- cording to the number of the passen- gers and the loading weight in the cargo area, turn the beam leveling switch.The higher the number of the switch position, the lower the headlight beam level. Always keep the headlight beamat the proper leveling position, or head- lights may dazzle other road users. Listed below are the examples of properswitch settings. The rear window defroster is turned on by pushing in the switch. To turn the defroster off, push the switch a second time. The rear window defroster auto-matically turns itself off after about 20 minutes. To restart the defroster cycle, push in the switch again after it hasturned itself off. B370A01A-AAT The hazard warning system should be used whenever you find it necessary to stop the car in a hazardous location. When you must make such an emer-gency stop, always pull off the road as far as possible. The hazard warning lights are turnedon by pushing in the hazard switch. This causes all turn signal lights to blink. The hazard warning lights willoperate even though the key is not in the ignition. To turn the hazard warning lights off,push the switch a second time. Its functions are: Hour/Minute Adjustment: Turn the switch counterclockwise for less than 1.5 seconds to advance thehour indicated. Turn the switch clock- wise for less than 1.5 seconds to ad- vance the minute indicated. Auto Mode: Turn the switch counterclockwise or clockwise for more than 1.5 seconds to advance the hour or the minute auto-matically. B400A01HR
