Average Fuel Economy (2)
The average fuel economy is calculat-
ed by the total driving distance and fuel
consumption since the last average fuel
economy reset.
- Fuel economy range: 0.0 ~ 99.9L/100km or MPG
The average fuel economy can be reset both manually and automatically.
Manual reset
To clear the average fuel economy manu-
ally, press the trip b utton (Type A : TRIP,
Type B : )
for more than 1 second
when the average fuel economy is dis-
played. Automatic reset
The average fuel economy will be
cleared to zero (---) when the vehicle
speed exceeds 1 km/h after refuellingmore than 6 litres (1.6 gallons).
✽✽
NOTICE
The average fuel economy is not dis-
played for more accurate calculation if
the vehicle does not drive more than 10
seconds or 50 meters (0.03 miles) since
the ignition switch or Engine Start/Stopbutton is turned to ON.
Instant Fuel Economy (3)
This mode displays the instant fuel economy during the last few seconds
when the vehicle speed is more than10 km/h (6.2 MPH).

Engine oil pressure warn-
ing
This warning light indicates the engine oil
pressure is low.
If the warning light illuminates whilst driv- ing:
1. Drive safely to the side of the road and stop.
2. With the engine off, check the engine oil level. If the level is low, add oil as required.
If the warning light remains on after
adding oil or if oil is not available, we rec-
ommend that you call an authorised
HYUNDAI dealer.
Engine oil level warning light (Diesel engine, if equipped)
The engine oil level warning light illumi-
nates when the engine oil level should be
checked.
If the warning light comes on, check the
engine oil level as soon as possible andadd engine oil as required.
Slowly pour the recommended oil little by
little into a funnel. (Oil refill capacity :
approximately 0.6 ~ 1.0 l)
Use only the specified engine oil. (Refer
to "Recommended lubricants and capac-ities" in section 8.)
Do not overfill the engine oil to ensure
the oil level is not above F mark on the
dipstick.
CAUTION
If the oil pressure warning light stays on whilst the engine is run-
ning, serious engine damage mayresult. The oil pressure warning light comes on whenever there isinsufficient oil pressure. In normal
operation, it should come on whenthe ignition switch is turned on, then go out when the engine is
started. If the oil pressure warninglight stays on whilst the engine is running, there is a serious malfunc-tion.
If this happens, stop the car assoon as it is safe to do so, turn off the engine and check the oil level. If the oil level is low, fill the engine oil
to the proper level and start theengine again. If the light stays on with the engine running, turn theengine off immediately. In any
instance where the oil light stays onwhen the engine is running, we rec-ommend that the system be checked by an authorised HYUNDAI
dealer.
CAUTION
If the engine is not stopped immedi- ately after the engine oil pressurewarning light is illuminated, severedamage could result.

indicator goes out after the engine is run-ning.
If this indicator blinks when the ignition
switch is in the ON position before start-

When the battery is weak, if the ENGINE START/STOP button is
pressed, the indicator will blink and you
are not able to start the engine.
However, you are able to start the
engine by inserting the smart key in

Malfunction indicator lamp
(MIL) (check engine light)
This indicator light is part of the Engine
Control System which monitors various
emission control system components. If
this light illuminates whilst driving, it indi-
cates that a potential problem has been
detected somewhere in the emissioncontrol system. This light will also illuminate when the
ignition switch is turned to the ON posi-
tion, and will go out in a few seconds
after the engine is started. If it illuminates
whilst driving, or does not illuminate
when the ignition key is turned to the ON
position, we recommend that the system
be checked by an authorised HYUNDAI
dealer.
Generally, your vehicle will continue to be
drivable, but we recommend that the sys-
tem be checked by an authorised
HYUNDAI dealer.

When the malfunction indicator light is blinks, it may stop blinking
after driving the vehicle at more than 60km/h (37 mph) or at morethan second gear with 1500 ~ 2000engine rpm for a certain time (for
about 25 minutes).
If the malfunction indicator lightcontinues to blink in spite of the procedure, we recommend that the
system be checked by an autho- rised HYUNDAI dealer.
If you continue to drive with themalfunction indicator light blinking
for a long time, the DPF system canbe damaged and fuel consumption can be worsen.
CAUTION
Prolonged driving with the EmissionControl System Malfunction
Indicator Light illuminated maycause damage to the emission con- trol systems which could effect dri-vability and/or fuel economy.
CAUTION - Petrol engine
If the Emission Control SystemMalfunction Indicator Light illumi-
nates, potential catalytic converter damage is possible which couldresult in loss of engine power. Werecommend that the system be
inspected by an authorisedHYUNDAI dealer.
CAUTION - Diesel engine
If the Emission Control SystemMalfunction Indicator Light blinks,
some error related to the injection quantity adjustment occurs whichcould result in loss of engine power, combustion noise and poor
emission. We recommend that thesystem be inspected by an autho-rised HYUNDAI dealer.
