o The SRS can function only when
the ignition key is in the "ON" position. If the SRS is not working properly,(1) The SRS SRI does not come on when the ignition key is turnedto the "ON" position or after theengine is started.
(2) The SRS SRI blinks for a sec-
ond and remains on after illu-minating for about 6 seconds when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position or after heengine is started.
(3) The SRS SRI illuminates while
driving.
If this occurs, have your vehicle immediately inspected by your Hyundai dealer.
o Before you replace a fuse or dis- connect a battery terminal, turnthe ignition key to the "LOCK"position or remove the ignition key. Never remove or replace the air bag related fuse(s) when theignition key is in the "ON" posi- tion. Failure to heed this warning may cause the SRS SRI to illumi-nate. B990B01MC-GAT Side Impact Airbag (If installed) Your Hyundai is equipped with a side impact airbag in each front seat. Thepurpose of the airbag is to provide the vehicle's driver and/or the front passen- ger with additional protection than thatoffered by the seat belt alone. The side impact airbags are designed to deploy only during certain side-impact colli-sions, depending on the crash severity, angle, speed and point of impact. The side impact air bags are not designed todeploy in all side impact situations.

!WARNING:
o Before installing child restraints, always refer to "Child Restraint System" to ensure correct instal- lation and occupant protection is maximised.
o Make sure that the occupant does
not have any body parts (head, arms & legs) protruding outside the restraining system. If an inflat- ing airbag was to strike an infantchild on the head, it may cause serious injury.
o Ensure the opening for the Cur- tain Airbag System remains unob-structed at all times, so that the airbags can inflate properly ifneeded.
Important Safety Notes for Cur- tain Airbag Systems Following is a number of safety points concerning this system which shouldalways be observed to ensure risk of injury is reduced in an accident.
o The built in coat hooks should
only be used for light weight cloth- ing, ensure that pockets are free ofany heavy or sharp objects. When using coat hooks, do not hang clothes on coat hangers.
o The space between the occupant and the curtain airbag must neverbe occupied by children, passen-gers or pets. Occupants should never lean out or have any parts of their body protruding from thewindow whilst the engine is run- ning.
o Do not move the sun visor out to cover the side window if there isan item attached to it such as garage door remote control, pens, air fresheners or the like. These objects may cause injury if the Curtain Airbag is deployed.
o Where sun blinds are fitted to the rear doors, these must not ob-struct or impair the airbag in anyway.
B990C01CM-DAT Curtain Airbag (If Installed) Curtain airbags are located along both sides of the roof rails. It is designed to help protect the heads of the front seat occupants and the rear outboard seat occupants in certain sideimpact collisions. The curtain airbags are designed to deploy only during certain side impact collisions, depending on the crash se- verity, angle, speed and impact. Thecurtain airbags are not designed to deploy in all side impact situations, collisions from the front or rear of thevehicle or in most rollover situations. OCM052213

o Do not tamper with or disconnect
SRS wiring, or other components of the SRS system. Doing so could result in injury, due to acci- dental firing of the airbags or byrendering the SRS inoperative.
o If components of the air bag sys-
tem must be discarded, or if thevehicle must be scrapped, certain safety precautions must be ob- served. Your Hyundai dealerknows these precautions and can give you the necessary informa- tion. Failure to follow these precautions and procedures could increase therisk of personal injury.
o If you sell your vehicle, make cer-
tain that this manual is trans-ferred to the new owner.
o If your car was flooded and has
soaked carpeting or water on floor-ing, you shouldn't try to start the engine; have the car towed to an authorised Hyundai dealer.
o Modification to SRS components
or wiring, including the addition of any kind of badges to the pad cover or modifications to the bodystructure, can adversely affect SRS performance and lead to possible injury.
o For cleaning the horn pad, use only a soft, dry cloth or one whichhas been moistened with plainwater. Solvents or cleaners could adversely affect the airbag cover and proper deployment of the sys-tem.
o No objects should be placed over
or near the label identifying the airbag on the steering wheel and instrument panel, because any such object could cause harm ifthe vehicle is in a crash severe enough to cause the air bag to inflate.
o If the air bag inflates, it must be replaced by an authorised Hyundaidealer. o Do not replace the bumper or the
bumper guard with the one otherthan the Hyundai genuine parts.Otherwise, it can adversely affect SRS performance and lead to un- expected injury.

If the low oil pressure warning light stays on while the engine is running, serious engine damage may result. The oil pressure warning light comes on whenever there is insufficient oilpressure. In normal operation, it should come on when the ignition switch is turned on, then go outwhen the engine is started. If the oil pressure warning light stays on while the engine is running, there is aserious malfunction. If this happens, stop the car as soon as it is safe to do so, turn off theengine and check the oil level. If the oil level is low, fill the engine oil to the proper level and start the engineagain. If the light stays on with the engine running, turn the engine off immediately. B260H02A-GAT Parking Brake/Low Brake Fluid Level Warning Light
WARNING:
If you suspect brake trouble, have your brakes checked by a Hyundai dealer as soon as possible. Driving your car with a problem in either thebrake electrical system or brake hy- draulic system is dangerous, and could result in a serious injury or death.
Warning Light Operation The parking brake/low brake fluid level warning light should come on when theparking brake is applied and the ignition switch is turned to "ON" or "START". After the engine is started, the lightshould go out when the parking brake is released. If the parking brake is not applied, the warning light should comeon when the ignition switch is turned to "ON" or "START", then go out when the engine starts. If the light comes on atany other time, you should slow the vehicle and bring it to a complete stop in a safe location off the roadway. The brake fluid level warning light indi-cates that the brake fluid level in thebrake master cylinder is low and hy- draulic brake fluid conforming to DOT 3 or DOT 4 specifications should be added. After adding fluid, if no other trouble is found, the car should be immediately and carefully driven to a Hyundai dealerfor inspection. If further trouble is expe- rienced, the vehicle should not be driven at all but taken to a dealer by aprofessional towing service or some other safe method. Your Hyundai is equipped with dual-diagonal braking systems. This means you still have braking on two wheels even if one of the dual systems shouldfail. With only one of the dual systems working, more than normal pedal travel and greater pedal pressure are requiredto stop the car. Also, the car will not stop in as short a distance with only half of the brake system working. If thebrakes fail while you are driving, shift to a lower gear for additional engine brak- ing and stop the car as soon as it is safeto do so.
