!WARNING:
o Always double check to be sure that the hood is firmly latched before driving away. If it is not latched, the hood could open while the vehicle is being driven,causing a total loss of visibility, which might result in an acci- dent.
o Do not move the vehicle with the hood in the raised position, asvision is obstructed and the hood could fall or be damaged. B580A01HP-AAT Your Hyundai is equipped with sun visors to give the driver and front pas- senger either frontal or sideward shade. To reduce glare or to shut out direct rays of the sun, turn the sun visordown. A vanity mirror is provided on the back of the sun visor for the front passen-ger. NOTE: The Supplemental Restraint Sys- tem (SRS) label containing usefulinformation can be found on the front of each sun visor(If Installed).
When closing the hood, slowly close the hood and make sure it locks into place.

B611A01HP-AAT (If Installed) The rear seat armrest is located in the center of the rear seatback. A storage box and two drink holders are includedfor convenience. B600A01HP-GAT (If Installed) To adjust the steering wheel:
1. Pull the lever toward you and hold it
to unlock.
2. Raise or lower the steering wheel to
the desired position.
3. After adjustment, release the lever.
WARNING:
Do not attempt to adjust the steer- ing wheel while driving as this may result in loss of control of the ve- hicle and serious injury or death. B340G01HP-GAT (If Installed) To adjust the headlight beam level according to the number of the pas- sengers and the loading weight in theluggage area, turn the beam leveling switch. The higher the number of the switchposition, the lower the headlight beam level. Always keep the headlight beam at the proper leveling position, or head-lights may dazzle other road users. Listed below are the examples of proper switch settings. For loading conditionsother than those listed below, adjust the switch position so that the beam level may be the nearest as the condi-tion obtained according to the list.

B660A01S-AAT (If Installed) The cruise control system provides automatic speed control for your com- fort when driving on freeways, tollroads, or other noncongested high- ways. This system is designed to func- tion above approximately 40 km/h(25mph). B660B01HP-AAT To Set the Cruise Speed
1. Push in the cruise control main
switch. This turns the system on.
NOTE: The "CRUISE" indicator light in the instrument cluster will be illumi- nated when the main cruise controlswitch is activated(2.9 CRDi only).
2. Accelerate to desired cruising speed above 40 km/h(25 mph).
3. Push the control switch "SET"
(COAST) position.

NOTE: The "CRUISE" indicator light in the instrument cluster will illuminate after you have set the vehicle speedat the desired speed (Gasoline En- gine Only).
4. Remove your foot from the accel-
erator pedal and the desired speed will automatically be maintained.
5. To increase speed, depress the accelerator pedal enough for thevehicle to exceed the preset speed.When you remove your foot from the accelerator pedal, the vehicle will return to the speed you haveset.
NOTE: If the vehicle speed decreases more than 15 km/h (9 mph) below the set speed or decreases below 40 km/h (25 mph), the cruise control systemwill automatically cancel the set speed. B660C02HP-AAT To Cancel the Cruise Speed To disengage the cruise control sys- tem, push the control switch "CAN- CEL". Additionally, the following ac-tions will disengage the system:
o Depress the brake pedal.
o Depress clutch pedal (Manual trans-
mission).
o Shift the selector lever to "N" posi- tion (Automatic transmission).
o Decrease the vehicle speed lower
than the memorized speed by 15km/h(9 mph).
o Decrease the vehicle speed to less
than 40 km/h(25 mph).
o Release the main switch. B660D01L-DAT To Resume the Preset Speed
The vehicle will automatically resume the speed set prior to cancellation when you push the control switch "RESUME(ACCEL)" and release it to return (when travelling above 40 km/h).

B660E01L-AAT To Reset at a Faster Speed
1. Push the control switch "RESUME (ACCEL)" and hold it.
2. Accelerate to desired speed and release the control switch. While the control switch is held, the ve-hicle will gradually gain speed.

!WARNING:
o Keep the main switch off when not using the cruise control.
o Use the cruise control system
only when traveling on open high- ways in good weather.
o Do not use the cruise control
when it may not be safe to keepthe car at a constant speed, for instance, driving in heavy or vary- ing traffic, or on slippery (rainy,icy or snow-covered) or winding roads or over 6% up-hill or down- hill roads.
o Pay particular attention to the
driving conditions whenever us-ing the cruise control system.
o During cruise-control driving
with a manual transmission ve-hicle, do not shift into neutral without depressing the clutch pedal or the engine will beoverrevved. If this happens, de- press the clutch pedal or release the main switch.
o During normal cruise control
operation, when the "SET" but- ton is activated or reactivated after applying the brakes, the cruise control will energize afterapproximately 3 seconds. This delay is normal.
B660F02L-GAT To Reset at a Slower Speed
1. Push the control switch "SET (COAST)" and hold it. While the control switch is pushed, the vehiclespeed will gradually decrease.
2. When the desired speed is obtained,

B710B01S-AAT CENTER VENTILATOR The center ventilators are located in the middle of the dashboard. The di- rection of air flow from the vents in thecenter of the dashboard is adjustable. To control the direction of the air flow, move the knob in the center of the ventup-and-down and side-to-side. B710C02HP-AAT SIDE VENTILATOR The side ventilators are located on each side of dashboard. To change the direction of the air flow, move the knob in the center of the vent up-and-down and side-to-side. The vents are opened when the vent knob is moved to " " position. The vents are closedwhen the vent knob is moved to " ". Keep these vents clear of any obstruc- tions.

104HEATING AND VENTILATION
B670A01HP-GAT There are four controls for the heating and cooling system. They are:
1. Fan speed control. This is used to turn the fan on and select the fan speed.
2. Air intake control.
This allows you to select fresh out-side air or recirculation inside air.
3. Temperature control.
This is used to turn the heatingsystem on and off and to select the degree of heating desired. 4. Air flow control.
This is used to direct the flow of air. Air can be directed to the floor, dashboard outlets, or windshield. Five symbols are used to representFace, Bi-Level, Floor, Floor-Defrost and Defrost air positions.
B670A01HP B670B01A-AAT Fan Speed Control (Blower Control) This is used to turn the blower fan on and off and to select the fan speed.The blower fan speed, and therefore the volume of air delivered from the system, may be controlled manuallyby setting the blower control between the "1" and "4" position.

B670C01Y-AAT Air Intake Control This is used to select fresh outside air or recirculating inside air.
FreshRecirculation
With the " " mode selected, air entersthe vehicle from outside and is heated or cooled according to the other func-tions selected. With the " " mode selected, air from within the passenger compartment isdrawn through the heating system and heated or cooled according to the other functions selected. NOTE:
o It should be noted that prolonged
operation of the heating system in " " mode will give rise tofogging of the windshield and side windows and the air within the passenger compartment willbecome stale. In addition pro- longed use of the air condition- ing with the " " mode selectedmay result in the air within the passenger compartment becom- ing excessively dry.
o When the ignition switch is turned "ON", the air intake con-trol will change to " " mode(regardless of switch position). This is normal operation. B670D01L-AAT Air Flow Control This is used to direct the flow of air. Air can be directed to the floor, dashboard outlets, or windshield. Five symbolsare used to represent Face, Bi-Level, Floor, Floor-Defrost and Defrost air position.

Face-Level
Selecting the "Face" mode will cause air to be discharged through the face level vents. Bi-Level
Air is discharged through the face ventsand the floor vents. This makes it possible to have cooler air from thedashboard vents and warmer air from the floor outlets at the same time. Floor-Level
Air is discharged through the floorvents, windshield defroster nozzle, side defroster nozzle and side ventilator.
