B010B01A-AAT What About Gasohol? Gasohol (a mixture of 90% unleaded gasoline and 10% ethanol or grain alcohol) may be used in your Hyundai.However, if your engine develops drive ability problems, the use of 100% un- leaded gasoline is recommended. Fu-els with unspecified quantities of alco- hol, or alcohols other than ethanol, should not be used.
B010A01O-GAT Use Unleaded Gasoline Unleaded gasoline with a Pump Oc- tane Rating of 87 (Research Octane Number 91) or higher must be used inHyundai vehicle. If leaded gasoline is used, it will cause the catalytic con- verter to become ineffective and theemission control system to malfunc- tion. This can also result in increased main-tenance expense. To avoid accidental use of leaded fuel, the large nozzle used with leaded gasoline at servicestations can not be inserted into fuel tank opening of your Hyundai.
NOTE:
o For some countries, Hyundai
vehicles are designed to use leaded gasoline. When you aregoing to use leaded gasoline, ask to Hyundai dealer whether leaded gasoline in your vehicleis available or not.
o Octane rating of leaded gasoline
is same with unleaded one.
Use Diesel Diesel fuel of 52 to 54 cetane is the correct rating to use in your Hyundai. If two types of diesel fuel are available, use summer or winter fuel properlyaccording to the following temperature conditions.
o Above -5°C (23°F) ... Summer type diesel fuel.
o Below -5°C (23°F) ... Winter type
diesel fuel.
Watch the fuel level in the tank very carefully : If the engine stops through fuel failure, the circuits must be com- pletely purged to permit restarting. CAUTION:
o Do not let any gasoline or water enter the tank. This would makeit necessary to drain it out and to bleed the lines to avoid jamming the injection pump and damag-ing the engine.
o In winter, in order to cut down
incidents due to freezing, paraf-fin oil may be added to the fuel if the temperature drops to below -10°C. Never use more than 20% paraffin oil.

B260G01A-AAT Low Oil Pressure Warning Light
CAUTION:
If the oil pressure warning light stays on while the engine is run- ning, serious engine damage mayresult. The oil pressure warning light comes on whenever there is insufficient oil pressure. In normaloperation, it should come on when the ignition switch is turned on, then go out when the engine isstarted. If the oil pressure warning light stays on while the engine is running, there may be a seriousmalfunction. If this happens, stop the car as soon as it is safe to do so, turn offthe engine and check the oil level. If the oil level is low, fill engine oil to the proper level and start the en-gine again. If the light stays on with the engine running, turn the engine off immediately. In any instancewhere the oil light stays on when the engine is running, the engine

should be checked by an autho- rized Hyundai dealer before the car is driven again.

B260H02A-GAT Parking Brake / Low Brake Fluid Level Warn-ing Light Warning Light Operation The parking brake/low brake fluid level warning light should come on when theparking brake is applied and the igni- tion switch is turned to "ON" or "START". After the engine is started,the light should go out when the park- ing brake is released. If the parking brake is not applied, thewarning light should come on when the ignition switch is turned to "ON" or "START", then go out when the enginestarts. If the light comes on at any other time, you should slow the vehicle and bring it to a complete stop in a safelocation off the roadway. The brake fluid level warning light indi- cates that the brake fluid level in thebrake master cylinder is low and hy- draulic brake fluid conforming to DOT 3 or DOT 4 specifications should beadded. After adding fluid, if no other trouble is found, the car should be immediately and carefully driven to aHyundai dealer for inspection. If fur- ther trouble is experienced, the vehicle should not be driven at all but taken toa dealer by a professional towing ser- vice or some other safe method.
WARNING:
If you suspect brake trouble, have your brakes checked by a Hyundaidealer as soon as possible. Driving your car with a problem in either the brake electrical system or brakehydraulic system is dangerous, and could result in a serious injury or death.

When the key is turned to the "ON" position, the 4WD(Four Wheel Drive)LOW indicator light will come on and then go off in a few seconds. The 4WD low indicator light comes onwhen the transfer shift knob is set to LOW position (Part-time 4WD type : 4L position, Full-time 4WD type : Lowposition). When the key is turned to the "ON" position, the 4WD(Four Wheel Drive) HIGH indicator light will come on and then go off in a few seconds.The 4WD HIGH indicator light will illu- minate when the transfer shift knob is set to 4H position.

Immobilizer Warning Light (Diesel Engine (2.9CRDi)) (If Installed)
This indicator light comes on for some seconds after the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position. At this time, you can start the engine. The light goes outafter the engine is running. In case this light goes out before you start the engine, you must turn to the "LOCK"position and restart the engine. In case this light blinks for five seconds when the ignition key is turned to "ON" posi-tion, this indicates that the immobilizer system is out of order. At this time, refer to the explanation of the Limphome procedure(See page 1-9) or con- sult to the Hyundai dealer.

B260U01HP-DAT A/T(Automatic Transmis- sion) Oil TemperatureWarning Light (If Installed)
The A/T oil temperature warning light comes on when the automatic trans- mission oil temperature goes up to the temperature that may result in seriousdamage of automatic transmission. If the A/T oil temperature warning light comes on while driving, park your ve-hicle in at a safe place as soon as possible. With the selector lever shifted into "P" position, allow the engine toidle until the warning light goes off. When the warning light goes off, the vehicle can be driven normally. CAUTION:
If the warning light doesn't go off orblinks, this indicates that there is a malfunction in the automatic trans- mission or T.C.U (TransmissionControl Unit). If this occurs, have your vehicle checked by an autho- rized Hyundai dealer.
B260C01A-AAT O/D OFF Indicator (Automatic Transmissiononly)
When the overdrive switch is turned on, the overdrive off indicator will go out. This amber indicator will be illumi-nated when the overdrive switch is turned off.

B540D02HP-DAT Luggage Net Some objects can be kept in the net at the luggage compartment. Use the luggage net on the floor or atthe back of the luggage compartment to prevent objects from sliding. CAUTION:
To prevent damage to the goods or the vehicle, care should be taken when carrying fragile or bulky ob- jects in the luggage compartment.
WARNING:
Avoid eye injury. DO NOT over-stretch. ALWAYS keep face and body out of recoil path. DO NOT use when strap has visible signs ofwear or damage.
B540C01HP-GAT Luggage Compartment Light Luggage compartment light has a 3- position switch. The three positions are:
o In the "MIDDLE" position, the lug-
gage compartment light comes on when the tail gate is opened, then goes out when it is closed.
o In the "ON" position, the light stays on at all times.
o In the "OFF" position, the light stays

o Do not add any oil to the rotating
parts. Keep magnets, screwdriv- ers and other metallic objects away from the tape mechanism and head.
o This equipment is designed to be used only in a 12 volt DCbattery system with negativeground.
o This unit is made of precision
parts. Do not attempt to disas-semble or adjust any parts.
o When driving your vehicle, be
sure to keep the volume of theunit set low enough to allow you to hear sounds coming from the outside.
o Do not expose this equipment (including the speakers and tape)to water or excessive moisture. CAUTION:
o Do not insert warped or poor quality discs into the CD player as damage to the unit may occur.
o Do not insert anything like coins into the player slot as damage tothe unit may occur.
o Do not place beverages close to
the audio system. The playbackmechanism may be damaged if you spill them.
o Do not impact on the audio sys- tem, or the playback mechanismcould be damaged.
o Driving on the off-roads or other vibrations may skip your com-pact disc. Do not use the audiosystem on off-roads as the discs could be scratched and damaged.
o Do not grip or pull out the disc
with your hand while the disc isbeing pulled into the unit by the self loading mechanism. Thesecan cause poor disc scratching to occur or trouble in the com- pact disc player. o Avoid using CD-Recordable or
CD-Rewritable as the player could not be operated in recording way of the CD maker. When using thecompact disc player, genuine CDs are recommended.

Damaged Disc Do not attempt to play damaged, warped or cracked discs. These couldseverely damage the playback mecha- nism. Storage When not in use, place your discs in their individual cases and store them ina cool place away from the sun, heat, and dust. Do not grip or pull out the disc with yourhand while the disc is being pulled into the unit by the self loading mechanism.
B850A02F-AAT Proper Handling Handle your disc as shown. Do not drop the disc. Hold the disc so you will not leave fingerprints on the surface. Ifthe surface is scratched, it may cause the pickup to skip signal tracks. Do not affix tape, paper, or gummed labels onthe disc. Do not write on the disc.

CARE OF DISCS
Fingerprints, dust, or soil on the sur-face of a disc could cause the pickup toskip signal tracks. Wipe the surface clean with a clean soft cloth. If the surface is heavily soiled, dampena clean soft cloth in a solution of mild neutral detergent to wipe it clean.

Proper care of your cassette tapes will extend the tape life and increase yourlistening enjoyment. Always protect your tapes and cassette cases from direct sunlight, severe cold and dustyconditions. When not in use, cassettes should always be stored in the protec- tive cassette case in which they wereoriginally supplied. When the vehicle is very hot or cold, allow the interior temperature to become more comfort-able before listening to your cassettes. o Never leave a cassette inserted in
the player when not being played.This could damage the tape player unit and the cassette tape.
o We strongly recommend against the
use of tapes longer than C-60 (60minutes total). Tapes such as C- 120 or C-180 are very thin and donot perform as well in the automo- tive environment. o Be sure that the cassette label is not
loose or peeling off or tape ejection may be difficult.
o Never touch or soil the actual audio
tape surfaces.
o Keep all magnetized objects, such as electric motors, speakers or trans-formers away from your cassettetapes and tape player unit.
o Store cassettes in a cool, dry place
with the open side facing down toprevent dust from setting in the cas- sette body.
o Avoid repeated fast reverse usage to replay one given tune or tapesection. This can cause poor tape winding to occur, and eventuallycause excessive internal drag and poor audio quality in the cassette. If this occurs, it can sometimes becorrected by fast winding the tape from end to end several times. If this does not correct the problem, do notcontinue to use the tape in your vehicle.
