B460E02JM-GATResetting the sunroofWhenever the vehicle battery is disconnected
or discharged, you have to reset your sunroof
system as follows:
1. Turn the ignition key to the ON position.
2. According to the position of the sunroof,
do as follows.
1) In case that the sunroof has closed
completely or been tilted : Press the
TILT UP button for 1 second.
2) In case that the sunroof has slide-
opened: Press and hold the CLOSE
button for more than 5 seconds until
the sunroof has closed completely.
And then press the TILT UP button for
1 second
3. Then, release it.
4. Press and hold the TILT UP button once
again until the sunroof has returned to
the original position of TILT UP after it is
raised a little higher than the maximum
TILT UP position. When this is com-
plete, the sunroof system is reset.
CAUTION:
If the sunroof is not reset, it may not
operate properly.

CloseTo close the sunroof, press the CLOSE
button on the overhead console and hold
it until the sunroof is closed.NOTE:After washing the car or after there is
rain, be sure to wipe off any water that is
on the sunroof before operating it.

Auto tilt openTo use the autotilt feature, momentarily
(more than 1 second) press the TILT UP
button on the overhead console. The
sunroof will tilt all the way open. To stop the
sunroof tilting at any point, press any
sunroof control button.Manual tilt openPress the TILT UP button on the overhead
console for less than 0.5 second.

The two buttons are:o DOORIn the "DOOR" position, the interior cour-
tesy light comes on when any door is
opened regardless of the ignition key po-
sition.
The light goes out after 30 seconds if the
door is closed.
When a door is unlocked by the transmit-
ter, the interior light stays on for 30 seconds
as long as the door is not opened.o ONIn the "ON" position, the light stays on at all
times. Do not leave this button pressed for
an extended period of time when the ve-
hicle is not running.

SPECTACLE CASE!
B491A03O-GAT(If Installed)The spectacle case is located on the front
overhead console.
Push the end of the cover to open the
spectacle case.
WARNING:
Do not keep objects except spectacle
inside the spectacle case. Such objects
can be thrown out in the event of a sud-
den stop or an accident, possibly injur-
ing the passengers in the vehicle.

cassette tapes or small articles.
To use the center console box, pull up the

Center Console Armrest
(If Installed)The center console box can be used as
armrest. To use the console armrest, pull
out the console box lid by pulling up the
handle as shown.NOTE:When not in use, always be sure it is
locked in position properly.

WARNING:
Do not place cups or cans in the drink
holder when the console box lid is used
as an armrest. It may result in spilling the
beverage. A spilled beverage that is very
hot can injure you or your passengers.
Spilled liquids can damage interior trim
and electric components.

The outside rearview mirrors can be ad-
justed to your preferred rear vision, both
directly behind the vehicle, and to the rear
of the left and right sides.
The remote control outside rearview mir-
ror switch controls the adjustments for both
right and left outside mirrors.To adjust the position of either mir-
ror:1. Move the selecting switch to the right or
left to activate the adjustable mecha-
nism for the corresponding door mirror.
2. Adjust mirror angle by depressing the
appropriate perimeter switch as illus-

B510A01A-AATManual TypeThe outside rearview mirrors are equipped
with a remote control for your convenience.
It is operated by the control lever in the
bottom front corner of the window.
Before driving away, always check that
your mirrors are positioned so you can see
behind you, both to the left and right sides,
as well as directly behind your vehicle.
When using the mirror, always exercise
caution when attempting to judge the dis-
tance of vehicles behind or along side of
you.OUTSIDE REARVIEW MIRROR
CAUTION:
If the mirror control is jammed with ice,
do not attempt to break it free using the
control handle or by manipulating the
face of the mirror. Use an approved
spray de-icer (not radiator antifreeze) to
release the frozen mechanism or move
the vehicle to a warm place and allow the
ice to melt.

WARNING:
Be careful when judging the size or dis-
tance of any object seen in the passen-
ger side rear view mirror. It is a convex
mirror with a curved surface. Any ob-
jects seen in this mirror are closer than
they appear.
CAUTION:
o Do not operate the switch continu-
ously for an unnecessary length of
time.
o Scraping ice from the mirror face could
cause permanent damage. To remove
any ice, use a sponge, soft cloth or
approved de-icer.

B510D01Y-AATOUTSIDE REARVIEW MIRROR
HEATER (If installed)The outside rearview mirror heater is actu-
ated in connection with the rear window
defroster. To heat the outside rearview
mirror glass, push in the switch for the rear
window defroster. The rearview mirror glass
will be heated for defrosting or defogging
and will give you improved rear vision in
inclement weather conditions. Push the
switch again to turn the heater off. The
outside rearview mirror heater automati-
cally turns itself off after 15 minutes.

B510C01A-AATFOLDING THE OUTSIDE REARVIEW
MIRRORSTo fold the outside rearview mirrors, push
them toward the rear.
The outside rearview mirrors can be folded
rearward for parking in narrow areas.
WARNING:
Do not adjust or fold the outside rearview
mirrors while the vehicle is moving. This
could result in loss of control, and an
accident which could cause serious in-
jury or death.

1. To operate Compass featurePress and release the button, then the
vehicle's directional heading will be dis-
played. Pressing and releasing the button
again will turn off the display.
Heading display
- E : East
- W : West
- S : South
- N : North
ex) NE : North East2. Calibration procedurePress and hold the button for more than 9
but less than 12 seconds. When the com-
pass memory is cleared a "C" will appear
in the display.
- Driving the vehicle in a circle at less
than 5mph 2 times or until the compass
heading appears.
- Driving in a circle in right-handed direc-
tion and opposite direction are pos-
sible, and if the calibration is completed,
the compass heading will appear.
- Keep driving in a circle until a compass
heading appears.
DAY/NIGHT INSIDE REARVIEW
MIRRORB520A01A-AATManual TypeYour Hyundai is equipped with a day/night
inside rearview mirror. The "night" position
is selected by flipping the tab at the bottom
of the mirror toward you. In the "night"
position, the glare of headlights of cars
behind you is reduced.

Automatic dimming rear view mirror con-
trols automatically the glare of headlights
of the car behind you when it turned on by
pressing and holding the button for more
than 3 but less than 6 seconds.
It is turned off by pressing and holding the
button for same time once more.

3. Setting the compass zone1. Find your current location and variance
zone number on the zone map.
2. Press and hold the button for more than
6 but less than 9 seconds. The current
zone number will appear in the display.
3. Press the button until the new zone
number appears in the display. After
you stop pressing the button in, the
display will show a compass direction
within a few seconds.

4. Changing Mirror Angle setting
(If Installed):Due to mirror positions being angled to-
wards the driver, the compass mirror can
also compensate for drivers seated on the
Left Hand side of the vehicle (steering
wheel on the LH side of the vehicle) or
Right Hand side of the vehicle (steering
wheel on the RH side of the vehicle).
To adjust the Left Hand, “L” or Right Hand,
“R”, setting:
1. Press and hold the button for more than
12 seconds.
2. Release then press the button to toggle
between “L” and “R”.NOTE:This procedure also causes the com-
pass to be de-calibrated.
3. To re-calibrate the compass, drive the
vehicle in 2 complete circles at less than
8km/h (5mph).
CAUTION:
1. Do not install the ski rack, antenna,
etc. which are attached to the vehicle
by means of a magnet. They affect the
operation of the compass.
2. If the compass deviates from the cor-
rect indication soon after repeated
adjustment, have the compass
checked at an authorized dealer.
3. The compass may not indicate the
correct compass point in tunnels or
while driving up or down a steep hill.
(The compass returns to the correct
compass point when the vehicle
moves to an area where the geomag-
netism is stabilized.)
4. When cleaning the mirror, use a paper
towel or similar material dampened
with glass cleaner. Do not spray glass
cleaner directly on the mirror as that
may cause the liquid cleaner to enter
the mirror housing.

!TAIL GATEB540A01JM-AATo Pull and raise the "DOOR" release lever
to open the tail gate.
o To close, lower the door, then press
down on it until it locks. To be sure the
door is securely fastened, try to pull it up
again.

WARNING:
The tail gate should always be kept com-
pletely closed while the vehicle is in
motion. If it is left open or ajar, poisonous
exhaust gases may enter the car result-
ing in serious illness or death to the
occupants. See additional warnings con-
cerning exhaust gases on page 2-2.
PARKING BRAKEB530A02A-AATApplying the parking brakeTo engage the parking brake, first apply
the foot brake and then without pressing
the release button in, pull the parking brake
lever up as far as possible. In addition it is
recommended that when parking the ve-
hicle on a gradient, the shift lever should
be positioned in the appropriate low gear
on manual transaxle vehicles or in the P
(Park) position on automatic transaxle ve-
hicles.

Releasing the parking brakeTo release the parking brake, first apply
the foot brake and pull the parking brake
lever slightly. Secondly, depress the re-
lease button and lower the parking brake
lever while holding the button.
CAUTION:
Driving with the parking brake applied
will cause excessive brake pad (or lin-
ing) and brake rotor wear.

open the tailgate window glass, and
raise the window open lever (2).
o To close the tail gate window, lower the
tail gate window, and it will close by
itself.
To be sure the tail gate window is se-
curely fastened, try to pull it up again.NOTE:The tail gate window lock is operated in
connection with the tail gate lock. To
open the tail gate window make sure the
tailgate is unlocked with a key (if in-
stalled) or the central door locking
switch.

Shopping bag holders are located in the
front console and on the backside of the
rear seat. When not in use, return it to the
original position.
CAUTION:
o Do not hang a bag beyond 6 Ibs (3 kg).
It may cause damage to the shopping
bag holder.
o Return it to the original position after
using the shopping bag holder.
