1. CHECK STARTER RELAY
With CONSULT-II
1. Turn ignition switch “ON”. (Do not start engine.)
2. Select “SELECTION FROM MENU” in “DATA MONITOR” mode
for “A/T” with CONSULT-II and check monitor “STARTER
RELAY” ON/OFF.
Without CONSULT-II
1. Turn ignition switch “ON”. (Do not start engine.)
2. Check the voltage between the IPDM E/R connector and
ground.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 3.
NG >> GO TO 2.
2. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM
Check the following items:
Starter relay, Refer to SC-10, "STARTING SYSTEM" .
IPDM E/R, Refer to PG-17, "IPDM E/R (INTELLIGENT POWER DISTRIBUTION MODULE ENGINE
ROOM)" .
Disconnections or short-circuits in the harness between TCM and IPDM E/R.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 3.
NG >> Repair or replace damaged parts.
3. CHECK TCM
Perform TCM input/output signals inspection. Refer to AT- 9 0 , "
TCM Input/Output Signal Reference Values" .
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 5.
NG >> GO TO 4.
4. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM
Check the following items:
Power supply and ground circuit for TCM.
The A/T assembly harness connector terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 5.
NG >> Repair or replace damaged parts.

the ON/OFF actuation of the “ATF PRES SW 3” and electrical
current value of “I/C SOLENOID”.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 6.
NG >> GO TO 2.
2. CHECK TCM
Perform TCM input/output signals inspection. Refer to AT-90, "
TCM Input/Output Signal Reference Values" .
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 3.
NG >> GO TO 5.
3. CHECK DTC
Perform “DTC Confirmation Procedure”.
Refer to AT- 1 4 8 , "DTC Confirmation Procedure" .
OK or NG
OK >>INSPECTION END
NG >> GO TO 4.
4. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM
Check the following items:
The A/T assembly harness connector terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
OK or NG
OK >> Replace the control valve with TCM. Refer to AT - 2 4 1 , "Control Valve With TCM and A/T Fluid

the display actuation of the “ATF PRES SW 5” and electrical cur-
rent value of “D/C SOLENOID”.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 6.
NG >> GO TO 2.
2. CHECK TCM
Perform TCM input/output signals inspection. Refer to AT-90, "
TCM Input/Output Signal Reference Values" .
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 3.
NG >> GO TO 5.
3. CHECK DTC
Perform “DTC Confirmation Procedure”.
Refer to AT- 1 6 0 , "DTC Confirmation Procedure" .
OK or NG

4. Read out the value of “ON OFF SOL” while driving.
OK or NG

OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 3.
NG >> GO TO 5.
3. CHECK DTC

“ON OFF SOL”.

Perform TCM input/output signals inspection. Refer to AT-90, "

DATA MONITOR
Operation Procedure
1. Touch “BUZZER” on “SELECT TEST ITEM” screen.
2. Touch “DATA MONITOR” on “SELECT DIAG MODE” screen.
3. Touch “ALL SIGNALS” or “SELECTION FROM MENU” on “DATA MONITOR″ screen.
4. If “SELECTION FROM MENU” is selected, touch the item you desire to monitor. If “ALL SIGNALS” is
selected, all control items are monitored.
5. Touch “START”.
6. During monitoring, touching “RECORD” can start recording the monitored item status.

ACTIVE TEST
Operation Procedure
1. Touch “BUZZER” on “SELECT TEST ITEM” screen.
2. Touch “ACTIVE TEST” on “SELECT DIAG MODE” screen.
3. Touch the item to be tested, and check the operation.
4. During the operation check, touching “OFF” deactivates the operation.

after touching “ON” on CONSULT-II screen.
SEAT BELT WARN TESTThis test is able to check seat belt warning chime operation. Seat belt warning chime sounds for 2
seconds after touching “ON” on CONSULT-II screen.

2. Self-diagnosis results are displayed.

2. Touch "ALL SIGNALS”, “MAIN SIGNALS” or “SELECTION FROM MENU” on the “DATA MONITOR”
screen.
3. Touch “START”.
4. Touch the required monitoring item on "SELECTION FROM MENU".
