To switch to the Bluetooth® audio mode, press the
DISC•AUX button repeatedly until the Bluetooth®
audio mode is displayed on the screen.
The controls for the Bluetooth® audio are dis-
played on the screen.
DISC·AUX button
Press the DISC·AUX button with the system off
and the Bluetooth® audio device connected to
turn the system on. If another audio source is
playing and the Bluetooth® audio device is con-
nected, press the DISC·AUX button repeatedly
until the display changes to the Bluetooth® audio
mode.
SEEK•CAT/TRACK button
Press the SEEK•CAT/TRACK button
for
less than 1.5 seconds while a Bluetooth® audio
file is being played to advance to the beginning of
the next track.
Press the SEEK•CAT/TRACK button
for
more than 1.5 seconds while a Bluetooth® audio
file is being played to advance the track. The
Bluetooth® audio device will play while fast for-
warding. When the button is released, the
Bluetooth® audio device will return to normal
play speed.
Press the SEEK•CAT/TRACK button
for
less than 1.5 seconds while a Bluetooth® audio
file is being played to return to the beginning of
the current track.
Press the SEEK•CAT/TRACK button
for
more than 1.5 seconds while a Bluetooth® audio
file is being played to reverse the track. The
Bluetooth® audio device will play while revers-
ing. When the button is released, the Bluetooth®
audio device will return to normal play speed.
The INFINITI controller can also be used to select
tracks when the Bluetooth® audio play mode
screen is shown on the display. (“Bluetooth au-
dio” will be indicated on the header of the
screen.)

Press the RDM·RPT button repeatedly to change
the play mode as follows:
Normal→Shuffle All Tracks →Shuffle Group →

Operation keys
To operate a Bluetooth® audio device, select a
key displayed on the operation screen using the
INFINITI controller.
Play
Select the “
” key to start playing after it has
been paused. Select this key again to pause the
audio play.
Pause
Select the “
” key to pause the Bluetooth ®
audio device. Select this key again to resume
playing. Play Mode
Select the “Menu” key to alter the play mode.
Choose the preferred play mode from the follow-
ing items:
● Shuffle
Choose from “Shuffle OFF”, “Shuffle All
Tracks” and “Shuffle Group”
● Repeat
Choose from “Repeat OFF”, “Repeat 1
Track”, “Repeat All Tracks” and “Repeat
Group”.
Bluetooth® audio settings
Press the SETTING button and select the
“Bluetooth” key to set up the Bluetooth® device
system to the preferred settings.
Bluetooth
If this setting is turned off, the connection be-
tween the Bluetooth® devices and the in-vehicle
Bluetooth® module will be canceled.
Connect Bluetooth
Connects to the Bluetooth® device. For addi-
tional information, refer to “Connecting proce-
dure” in this section. Up to five devices can be
registered.

Connected Devices
Registered devices are shown on the list. Select
a Bluetooth® device from the list, the following
options will be available.● Select
Select “Select” to connect the selected de-
vice to the vehicle. If there is a different
device currently connected, the selected
device will replace the current device.
● Edit
Rename the selected Bluetooth® device
using the keypad displayed on the screen.
● Delete
Delete the selected Bluetooth® device.
Edit Bluetooth Info
Change the name broadcasted by this system
over Bluetooth®. Change the PIN code that is
entered when connecting a hands free device to
this system.
Replace Connected Phone
Replace the Bluetooth® connection with a con-
nected Bluetooth® cellular phone. For additional
information about Hands-Free Phone System,
refer to “Bluetooth® Hands-Free Phone System
with navigation system” in this section.
CD CARE AND CLEANING
● Handle a CD by its edges. Do not bend the
disc. Never touch the surface of the disc.
● Always place the discs in the storage case
when they are not being used.
● To clean a disc, wipe the surface from the
center to the outer edge using a clean, soft
cloth. Do not wipe the disc using a circular
motion.
● Do not use a conventional record cleaner or
alcohol intended for industrial use. ●
A new disc may be rough on the inner and
outer edges. Remove the rough edges by
rubbing the inner and outer edges with the
side of a pen or pencil as illustrated.

The audio system can be operated using the
controls on the steering wheel.
SOURCE switch
With the ignition switch in the ACC or ON posi-
tion, push the SOURCE switch to turn the audio
system on.
Push the SOURCE switch to change the mode in
the following sequence:
Models without Navigation System
AM →FM1 →FM2 →XM1 →XM2 →XM3 →
USB/iPod®* →CD →AUX* →AM.
Models with Navigation System
AM →FM1 →FM2 →XM1 →XM2 →XM3 →
CD/DVD* →USB/iPod®* →Bluetooth® Audio*
→ AUX* →AM.
* These modes are only available when compat-
ible media storage is inserted into the device.
Volume control switch
Push the volume control switch to increase or
decrease the volume.
Menu control switch/ENTER button
While the display is showing a MAP, STATUS or
Audio screen, tilt the Menu Control switch up-
ward or downward to select a station, track, CD
or folder. For most audio sources, tilting the
switch up/down for more than 1.5 seconds pro- vides a different function than a tilting up/down
for less than 1.5 seconds.
AM and FM
● Tilt up/down for less than 1.5 seconds to
increase or decrease the preset station.
● Tilt up/down for more than 1.5 seconds to
seek up or down to the next station.
● Press the ENTER button to show the list of
preset stations.
XM ● Tilt up/down for less than 1.5 seconds to
increase or decrease the preset station.
● Tilt up/down for more than 1.5 seconds to
go to the next or previous category.
● Press the ENTER button to show the XM
Menu.
iPod® ● Tilt up/down for less than 1.5 seconds to
increase or decrease the track number.
● Press the ENTER button to show the iPod
Menu.
CD ● Tilt up/down for less than 1.5 seconds to
increase or decrease the track number.

Press the(back) switch to return to the
previous screen or cancel the current selection.
ANTENNA
The vehicle is equipped with a shark fin antenna
and an antenna pattern is printed inside the rear
window.
CAUTION
● Do not place metalized film near the
rear window glass or attach any metal
parts to it. This may cause poor recep-
tion or noise.
● When cleaning the inside of the rear
window, be careful not to scratch or
damage the rear window antenna.
Lightly wipe along the antenna with a
dampened soft cloth. If your vehicle is equipped with the Dual Head
Restraint/Headrest DVD System, you can enjoy
playing video files via a DVD, CD or USB memory
that provides images and sound both from the
front and rear display screens.
You can also enjoy compatible auxiliary devices
such as video games, camcorders or portable
video players through the auxiliary jacks.
The front and right/left rear displays can show
different sources individually. The maximum of
three audio sources, such as an iPod®, DVD and
auxiliary device, can be enjoyed at the same time.WARNING
The driver must not attempt to operate the
Dual Head Restraint/Headrest DVD Sys-
tem while driving so full attention may be
given to vehicle operation.
Park the vehicle in a safe location and
apply the parking brake to view the im-
ages on the front center display screen
using the DVD player.
CAUTION
●
Do not attempt to use the system in
extremely high or low temperature con-
dition [below 4ºF (20ºC) or above
158ºF (70ºC)].

SYSTEM
Precautions
Start the engine when using the Dual Head
Restraint/Headrest DVD System.
WARNING
The driver must not attempt to operate the
Dual Head Restraint/Headrest DVD Sys-
tem or wear the headphones while the
vehicle is in motion so that full attention
may be given to vehicle operation.
CAUTION
●Only operate the Dual Head
Restraint/Headrest DVD System while
the vehicle engine is running. Operating
the Dual Head Restraint/Headrest DVD
System for extended periods of time
with the engine OFF can discharge the
vehicle battery. ●
Do not allow the system to get wet.
Excessive moisture such as spilled liq-
uids may cause the system to
malfunction.
● While playing VIDEO-CD media, this
DVD player does not guarantee com-
plete functionality of all VIDEO-CD
formats.
Parental level (parental control)
Video data with the parental control setting can
be played with this system. Please use your own
judgement to set the parental control with the
system.
Disc selection
You can play the following disc formats with the
DVD player:
● DVD-VIDEO
● VIDEO-CD
● DTS-CD
Use DVDs with the region code “ALL” or the code
applicable to your country. The region code is
displayed as a small symbol printed on the top of
the DVD. This vehicle-installed DVD player can
only play DVDs with an applicable region code.
Available audio sources

●Use a phone after stopping your vehicle
in a safe location. If you have to use a
phone while driving, exercise extreme
caution at all times so full attention may
be given to vehicle operation.
● If you are unable to devote full attention
to vehicle operation while talking on
the phone, pull off the road to a safe
location and stop your vehicle.
CAUTION
To avoid discharging the vehicle battery,
use a phone after starting the engine.
Your INFINITI is equipped with the Bluetooth®
Hands-Free Phone System. If you have a com-
patible Bluetooth® enabled cellular phone, you
can set up the wireless connection between your
cellular phone and the in-vehicle phone module.
With Bluetooth® wireless technology, you can make or receive a hands-free telephone call with
your cellular phone in the vehicle.
Once your cellular phone is connected to the
in-vehicle phone module, no other phone con-
necting procedure is required. Your phone is
automatically connected with the in-vehicle

phone module when the ignition switch is placed
in the ON position with the previously connected
cellular phone turned on and carried in the ve-
hicle.
You can connect up to five different Bluetooth®
cellular phones to the in-vehicle phone module.
However, you can talk on only one cellular phone
at a time.
Before using the Bluetooth® Hands-Free Phone
System, refer to the following notes.● Set up the wireless connection between a
compatible cellular phone and the in-vehicle
phone module before using the hands-free
phone system.
● Some Bluetooth® enabled cellular phones
may not be recognized by the in-vehicle
phone module. Visit
www.infinitiusa.com/bluetooth or
www.infiniti.ca/bluetooth for a recom-
mended phone list and connecting instruc-
tions.
● You will not be able to use a hands-free
phone under the following conditions:
– Your vehicle is outside of the cellular ser- vice area.
– Your vehicle is in an area where it is difficult to receive a cellular signal; such as in a tunnel, in an underground parking
garage, near a tall building or in a moun-
tainous area.
– Your cellular phone is locked to prevent it from being dialed.
● When the radio wave condition is not ideal
or ambient sound is too loud, it may be
difficult to hear the other person’s voice dur-
ing a call.
● Do not place the cellular phone in an area
surrounded by metal or far away from the
in-vehicle phone module to prevent tone
quality degradation and wireless connection
disruption.
● While a cellular phone is connected through
the Bluetooth® wireless connection, the
battery power of the cellular phone may dis-
charge quicker than usual. The Bluetooth®
Hands-Free Phone System cannot charge
cellular phones.
● Some cellular phones or other devices may
cause interference or a buzzing noise to
come from the audio system speakers. Stor-
ing the device in a different location may
reduce or eliminate the noise.
● Refer to the cellular phone Owner’s Manual
regarding the telephone charges, cellular
phone antenna and body, etc. ●

USING THE SYSTEM
The INFINITI Voice Recognition system allows
hands-free operation of the Bluetooth® Phone
System.
If the vehicle is in motion, some commands may
not be available so full attention may be given to
vehicle operation.
Initialization
When the ignition switch is placed in the ON
position, INFINITI Voice Recognition is initialized,
which takes a few seconds. If the
button is
pressed before the initialization completes, the
system will announce “Hands-free phone system
not ready” and will not react to voice commands.
Operating tips
To get the best performance out of the INFINITI
Voice Recognition system, observe the following:
● Keep the interior of the vehicle as quiet as
possible. Close the windows to eliminate
surrounding noises (traffic noises, vibration
sounds, etc.) , which may prevent the system
from recognizing voice commands correctly.
● Wait until the tone sounds before speaking a
command. Otherwise, the command will not
be received properly.
● Start speaking a command within 5 seconds
after the tone sounds.
● Speak in a natural voice without pausing
between words.
Giving voice commands
To operate INFINITI Voice Recognition, press and
release the
button located on the steering
wheel. After the tone sounds, speak a command.
The command given is picked up by the micro-
phone, and voice feedback is given when the
command is accepted.
● If you need to hear the available commands
for the current menu again, say “Help” and
the system will repeat them. ●
If a command is not recognized, the system
announces, “Command not recognized.
Please try again.” Make sure the command is
said exactly as prompted by the system and
repeat the command in a clear voice.
● If you want to go back to the previous com-
mand, you can say “Go back” or “Correc-
tion” any time the system is waiting for a
response.
● You can cancel a command when the sys-
tem is waiting for a response by saying,
“Cancel” or “Quit.” The system announces
“Cancel” and ends the Voice Recognition
session. You can also press and hold
the
button on the steering wheel for
5 seconds at any time to end the Voice
Recognition session. Whenever the Voice
Recognition session is cancelled, a double
beep is played to indicate you have exited
the system.
● If you want to adjust the volume of the voice
feedback, press the volume control switches
(+ or -) on the steering wheel while being
provided with feedback. You can also use
the radio volume control knob.
● In most cases you can interrupt the voice
feedback to speak the next command by
pressing the
button on the steering
wheel.

CONTROL BUTTONS

Free Phone System are located on the steering
wheel.
PHONE/SEND
Press the
button to initiate a
Voice Recognition session or an-
swer an incoming call. You can also use the
button
to interrupt the system feedback
and give a command at once. For
additional information, refer to “List
of voice commands” and “During a
call” in this section.
PHONE/END
While the voice recognition system
is active, press and hold the
button for 5 seconds to quit the
voice recognition system at any
time.
TUNING SWITCH
While using the voice recognition
system, tilt the tuning switch up or
down to manually control the
phone system.
GETTING STARTED
The following procedures will help you get
started using the Bluetooth® Hands-Free Phone
System with INFINITI Voice Recognition. For ad-
ditional command options, refer to “List of voice
commands” in this section.
Choosing a language
You can interact with the Bluetooth® Hands-
Free Phone System using English, Spanish or
French.
To change the language, perform the following.
1. Press the SETTING button on the control panel
2. Select the “Language & Units” key
3. Select desired language and press enter on the control panel
Connecting procedure
NOTE:
The connecting procedure must be per-
formed when the vehicle is stationary. If the
vehicle starts moving during the procedure,
the procedure will be cancelled.
