Front Bushing
Removal and Installation
Removal
CAUTION: Replacement of nuts and bolts: Various thread-locking devices are used on nuts and bolts throughout the
vehicle. These devices restrict the number of times a nut or bolt can be used. See Section 100-00 for information.

Engine Support Beam
303-021 (MS 53D)
Front Camber Tie-down Link
204-114 (JD 133)
1. Position vehicle on a four-post lift.
2. Remove ignition key and en gage steering column lock.
3. Open hood to service position, and fit covers to fenders.
4. Remove battery cover and disc onnect ground cable from
battery terminal. Refer to 86.15.19.
5. Remove both engine covers (nor mally aspirated vehicles only).
Release pegs.
Remove covers.
6. Remove air intake tube/meter/ cleaner cover assembly. Refer
to 19.10.30
7. Remove air intake tube/meter/ cleaner cover assembly. Refer
to 19.10.30
8. Support weight of engine.
1. Position special tool 303-021 in RH and LH fender channels and tighte n beam fixings.
2. Engage hooks in the en gine front lifting eyes.
3. Tighten hook adjustment nuts until weight of engine is supported.

14. Remove undertray from vehicle.
15. Position camber tie down special tool 204-114 on suspension.
Fully slacken tool adjuster nut.
Position tool in center of ro ad spring and pass upper dowel through slot in suspension turret.
16. Lower front of vehicle.
17. WARNING: ENSURE THAT THE DOWEL OF TOOL 204-
114 IS CORRECTLY POSITIONED ACROSS THE SUSPENSION
TURRET SLOT.
Rotate stem of special tool 204-114 to correctly position dowel
in suspension turret slot.
18. WARNING: WHEN TIGHTENING TOOL NUT, USE LOWER
DOWEL AS A GUIDE TO ENSURE THAT THE TOOL STEM DOES
NOT ROTATE AND DISTURB POSITION OF DOWEL IN
SUSPENSION TURRET.
Tighten nut of special tool 204-114 to full extent, to achieve
suspension mid-laden position.
19. Raise front of vehicle and support on stands. refer to Section
100-02.
20. Remove front road wheels. Refer to Section 100-02.

3. Remove special tool 303-021 from fender channel.
11. Install crossbeam to engine Hydramount bolts.
Install bolt securing Hydramou nt to crossbeam and tighten to 34-46Nm.
Repeat procedure to install crossbeam opposite side bolt.
12. Tighten rear mounting bolt and nut to 131-185 Nm.
Repeat procedure to tighten opposite side rear mounting
bolt and nut.
13. Connect steering rack transducer harness front connector.
Connect steering ha rness connector.
Install harness connector on body retaining clip.
14. Slacken adjuster nut and remove camber tie down tool 204-
114 from suspension.
Repeat procedure to remove tie down tool from opposite
side.

undertray.
Install bolt and tighten to 17-23Nm.
19. Install both front road wheels. Refer to Section 204-04.
20. Raise vehicle, remove st ands and lower vehicle.
21. Remove special tool MS53 from vehicle.
22. Install both engine co vers (normally aspirated vehicles only).
Position covers over engine.
Install securing pegs.
23. Install air intake tube/meter/ cleaner cover assembly. Refer
to 19.10.30
24. Remove fender covers and close hood.
25. Connect ground cable to batt ery terminal and fit battery
cover. Refer 86.15.15.

Position tool in road spring and pass upper dowel through
slot in suspen sion turret.
16. Lower front of vehicle.
17. Rotate stem of special tool 204-114 to locate dowel in
suspension turret slot.
18. Lower front of vehicle.
19. WARNING: WHEN TIGHTENING TOOL NUT, USE LOWER
DOWEL AS A GUIDE TO ENSURE THAT THE TOOL STEM DOES
NOT ROTATE AND DISTURB POSITION OF DOWEL IN
SUSPENSION TURRET.
Tighten nut of special tool 204-114 to full extent, to achieve

20. Raise vehicle, remove st ands and lower vehicle.
21. Remove special tool MS53 from vehicle.
22. Install both engine co vers (normally aspirated vehicles only).
Position covers over engine.

23. Install air intake tube/meter/ cleaner cover assembly. Refer
to 19.10.30
24. Remove fender covers and close hood.
25. Connect ground cable to batt ery terminal and fit battery
cover. Refer 86.15.19.

12. Remove undertray from vehicle.
13. Remove both front road wheels. Refer to Section 204-04.
14. Remove both front road springs. Refer to 60. 20.02.
15. Disconnect wheel speed sensor harness connectors.
1. Sever and discard tiestr aps securing front wheel
speed sensor harness to upper wishbone.
2. Disconnect harness connector from sensor.
Repeat procedure to disconnect opposite side wheel speed
sensor harness.
16. CAUTION: Do not suspend caliper from brake hose as
this will damage the hose.
Remove brake calipers from carriers.
1. Remove caliper spring clip.
2. Remove guide pin dust caps.
3. Slacken and withdraw guide pins.
4. Remove caliper from carrier and tie to suspension mounting bracket.
Repeat procedure to remove opposite side front brake
caliper.
17. Remove filler cap from power steering fluid reservoir.

40. Using new scrivets, secure un dertray to each wheelarch
liner.
41. Install generator cool ing duct deflector.
Position deflector over rear vertical duct.
Slide deflector forward to engage center tang over
undertray.
Install bolt and ti ghten to 17-23Nm.
42. Install both front road wheels. Refer to Section 204-04.
43. Raise vehicle, remove st ands and lower vehicle.
44. Ensuring graduation mark remains aligned, finally tighten
wishbone rear eccentric bolt to 113-153Nm.
45. Ensuring graduation mark remains aligned, finally tighten
wishbone front eccentric bolt to 113-153Nm.
