Metric Speed (km/h)
• Pushing the SET-button once will result
in a 1 km/h decrease in set speed. Each
subsequent tap of the button results in a
decrease of 1 km/h.
• If the button is continually pushed, the set speed will continue to decrease in
10 km/h decrements until the button is
released. The decrease in set speed is
reflected in the instrument cluster display.
To Resume
If there is a set speed in memory push the
RES (resume) button and then remove your
foot from the accelerator pedal. The instru-
ment cluster display will show the last set
speed.
NOTE:
• If your vehicle stays at standstill for longerthan two seconds, then the system will
cancel and the brake force will be ramped-
out. The driver will have to apply the
brakes to keep the vehicle at a standstill.
• ACC cannot be resumed if there is a sta- tionary vehicle in-front of your vehicle in
close proximity.
WARNING!
The Resume function should only be used
if traffic and road conditions permit. Re-
suming a set speed that is too high or too
low for prevailing traffic and road condi-
tions could cause the vehicle to accelerate
or decelerate too sharply for safe opera-
tion. Failure to follow these warnings can
result in a collision and death or serious
personal injury.
Deactivation
Push and release the Adaptive Cruise Control
(ACC) ON/OFF button a second time to turn
the system off.
“Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Off” will ap-
pear in the instrument cluster display to in-
dicate the ACC is off.
Setting The Following Distance
The specified following distance for ACC can
be set by varying the distance setting be-
tween four bars (longest), three bars (long),
two bars (medium) and one bar (short). Using
this distance setting and the vehicle speed, ACC calculates and sets the distance to the
vehicle ahead. This distance setting appears
in the instrument cluster display.
• To increase the distance setting, push the
Distance Setting—Increase button and re-
lease. Each time the button is pushed, the
distance setting increases by one bar (lon-
ger).
• To decrease the distance setting, push the Distance Setting—Decrease button and
release. Each time the button is pushed,
the distance setting decreases by one bar
(shorter).
Changing Modes
If desired, the Adaptive Cruise Control mode
can be turned off and the system can be
operated as a normal (Fixed Speed) Speed
Control mode. When in the normal (Fixed
Speed) Speed Control mode the distance
setting feature will be disabled and the sys-
tem will maintain the speed you set.
• To change between the different cruisecontrol modes, push the ADAPTIVE
CRUISE CONTROL (ACC) ON/OFF button
which turns the ACC and the normal (Fixed
Speed) Speed Control OFF.

• Pushing the normal (Fixed Speed) SPEEDCONTROL ON/OFF button will result in
turning ON (changing to) the normal
(Fixed Speed) Speed Control mode.

WARNING!
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is a conve-
nience system. It is not a substitute for
active driving involvement. It is always the
driver’s responsibility to be attentive of
road, traffic, and weather conditions, ve-
hicle speed, distance to the vehicle ahead;
and, most importantly, brake operation to
ensure safe operation of the vehicle under
all road conditions. Your complete atten-
tion is always required while driving to
maintain safe control of your vehicle. Fail-
ure to follow these warnings can result in a
collision and death or serious personal
injury.
The ACC system:
• Does not react to pedestrians, oncoming vehicles, and stationary objects (e.g., a
WARNING!
stopped vehicle in a traffic jam or a
disabled vehicle).
• Cannot take street, traffic, and weather
conditions into account, and may be
limited upon adverse sight distance con-
ditions.
• Does not always fully recognize complex
driving conditions, which can result in
wrong or missing distance warnings.
• Will bring the vehicle to a complete stop
while following a target vehicle and hold
the vehicle for 2 seconds in the stop
position. If the target vehicle does not
start moving within two seconds the ACC
system will display a message that the
system will release the brakes and that
the brakes must be applied manually. An
audible chime will sound when the
brakes are released.
You should switch off the ACC system:
• When driving in fog, heavy rain, heavy
snow, sleet, heavy traffic, and complex
driving situations (i.e., in highway con-
struction zones).
WARNING!
• When entering a turn lane or highway offramp; when driving on roads that are
winding, icy, snow-covered, slippery, or
have steep uphill or downhill slopes.
• When towing a trailer up or down steep
slopes.
• When circumstances do not allow safe
driving at a constant speed.
The Cruise Control system has two control
modes:
• Adaptive Cruise Control mode for main-
taining an appropriate distance between
vehicles.
• Normal (fixed speed) electronic speed
control mode for cruising at a constant
preset speed. For additional informa-
tion, refer to “Normal (Fixed Speed)
Cruise Control Mode” in your Owner’s
Manual at
www.jeep.com/en/owners/manuals/
Normal (fixed speed) electronic speed con-
trol will not react to preceding vehicles. Al-
ways be aware of the mode selected.
You can change the mode by using the
Cruise Control buttons. The two control

modes function differently. Always con-
firm which mode is selected.
PARKSENSE REAR PARK
ASSIST
ParkSense Sensors
The four ParkSense sensors, located in the
rear fascia/bumper, monitor the area behind
the vehicle that is within the sensors’ field of
view. The sensors can detect obstacles from
approximately 12 in (30 cm) up to 79 in
(200 cm) from the rear fascia/bumper in the
horizontal direction, depending on the loca-
tion, type and orientation of the obstacle.
Activation/Deactivation ParkSense
ParkSense can be enabled and disabled with
the ParkSense switch.
When the ParkSense switch is pushed to
disable the system, the instrument cluster
display will show the “PARKSENSE OFF”
message for approximately five seconds. Re-
fer to “Instrument Cluster Display” in “Get-ting To Know Your Instrument Panel” for
further information. When the gear selector is
moved to REVERSE and the system is dis-
abled, the instrument cluster display will
show the “PARKSENSE OFF” message for as
long as the vehicle is in REVERSE.
The ParkSense switch LED will be ON when
ParkSense is disabled or requires service.
The ParkSense switch LED will be OFF when
the system is enabled. If the ParkSense
switch is pushed, and the system requires
service, the ParkSense switch LED will blink
momentarily, and then the LED will be ON.
Instrument Cluster Display
The ParkSense Warning screen will only be
displayed if Sound and Display is selected
from the Customer - Programmable Features
section of the Uconnect System. Refer to
"Uconnect Settings” in “Multimedia” for fur-
ther information.
The ParkSense Warning screen is located
within the instrument cluster display. It pro-
vides visual warnings to indicate the distance
between the rear fascia/bumper and the de-
tected obstacle. Refer to “Instrument Cluster
Display” in “Getting To Know Your Instru-
ment Panel for further information.
ParkSense System Usage Precautions
NOTE:
• Ensure that the rear bumper is free of
snow, ice, mud, dirt and debris to keep the
ParkSense system operating properly.
• Jackhammers, large trucks, and other vi- brations could affect the performance of
ParkSense.
• When you turn ParkSense OFF, the instru- ment cluster display will read
“PARKSENSE OFF”. Furthermore, once
you turn ParkSense off, it remains off until
you turn it on again, even if you cycle the
ignition.
• When you move the gear selector to the REVERSE position and ParkSense is
turned OFF, the instrument cluster display
will show a “PARKSENSE OFF” message
for as long as the vehicle is in REVERSE.
• ParkSense, when on, will reduce the vol- ume of the radio when it is sounding a
tone.

(Summit Models) — If Equipped
Your vehicle may be equipped with a trailer
hitch receiver cover, this must be removed to
access the trailer hitch receiver (if equipped).
This hitch receiver cover is located at the
bottom center of the rear fascia.
1. Turn the two locking retainers located at
the bottom of the hitch receiver cover a
1/4 turn counterclockwise.
NOTE:
Use a suitable tool such as a coin in the
slot of the locking retainer if needed for
added leverage.

6. After the shift is completed and the NEU-TRAL (N) light stays on, release the NEU-
TRAL (N) button.
7. Shift the transmission into REVERSE.
8. Release the brake pedal for five seconds and ensure that there is no vehicle
movement.
9. Press and hold the brake pedal. Shift the transmission back into NEUTRAL.
10. Firmly apply the parking brake. 11. With the transmission and transfer case
in NEUTRAL, push and hold the EN-
GINE START/STOP button until the en-
gine turns off.
12. Place the transmission gear selector in PARK. Release the brake pedal.
13. Push the ENGINE STOP/START button twice (without pressing the brake pedal),
to turn the ignition to the OFF mode.
14. Attach the vehicle to the tow vehicle using a suitable tow bar.
15. Release the parking brake.
NOTE:
• Steps 1 through 4 are requirements that must be met before pushing the NEUTRAL
(N) button, and must continue to be met
until the shift has been completed. If any
of these requirements are not met before
pushing the NEUTRAL (N) button or are
no longer met during the shift, then the
NEUTRAL (N) indicator light will flash
continuously until all requirements are
met or until the NEUTRAL (N) button is
released. • The ignition must be in the ON/RUN mode
for a shift to take place and for the position
indicator lights to be operable. If the igni-
tion is not in the ON/RUN mode, the shift
will not take place and no position indica-
tor lights will be on or flashing.
• A flashing NEUTRAL (N) position indica- tor light indicates that shift requirements
have not been met.
• If the vehicle is equipped with Quadra-Lift air suspension, the engine should be
started and left running for a minimum of
60 seconds (with all the doors closed) at
least once every 24 hours. This process
allows the air suspension to adjust the
vehicle’s ride height to compensate for
temperature effects.
Shifting Out Of NEUTRAL (N)
Use the following procedure to prepare your
vehicle for normal usage.
1. Bring the vehicle to a complete stop, leav-
ing it connected to the tow vehicle.
2. Firmly apply the parking brake.
3. Start the engine.
4. Press and hold the brake pedal.

5. Shift the transmission into NEUTRAL.
6. Using a ballpoint pen or similar object,push and hold the recessed transfer case
NEUTRAL (N) button (located by the se-
lector switch) for one second.
7. When the NEUTRAL (N) indicator light turns off, release the NEUTRAL (N) but-
ton. After the NEUTRAL (N) button has
been released, the transfer case will shift
to the position indicated by the selector
switch. 8. Shift the transmission into PARK. Turn
the engine OFF.
9. Release the brake pedal.
10. Disconnect vehicle from the tow vehicle.
11. Start the engine.
12. Press and hold the brake pedal.
13. Release the parking brake.
14. Shift the transmission into DRIVE, re- lease the brake pedal, and check that
the vehicle operates normally.
NOTE:
• Steps 1 through 5 are requirements that must be met before pushing the NEU-
TRAL (N) button, and must continue to be
met until the shift has been completed. If
any of these requirements are not met
before pushing the NEUTRAL (N) button
or are no longer met during the shift, the
NEUTRAL (N) indicator light will flash
continuously until all requirements are
met or until the NEUTRAL (N) button is
released. • The ignition must be in the ON/RUN mode

WARNING!
A loose tire or jack thrown forward in a
collision or hard stop could endanger the
occupants of the vehicle. Always stow the
jack parts and the spare tire in the places
provided. Have the deflated (flat) tire re-
paired or replaced immediately.
Changing Procedure
1. Mount the road tire on the axle.
2. Install the remaining lug nuts with thecone shaped end of the nut toward the
wheel. Lightly tighten the lug nuts.
WARNING!
To avoid the risk of forcing the vehicle off
the jack, do not tighten the lug nuts fully
until the vehicle has been lowered. Failure
to follow this warning may result in per-
sonal injury.
3. Lower the vehicle to the ground by turning the jack handle counterclockwise.
4. Finish tightening the lug nuts. Push down on the wrench while at the end of the handle for increased leverage. Tighten the
lug nuts in a star pattern until each nut
has been tightened twice. The correct
tightness of each lug nut is 130 ft-lbs
(176 N·m). If in doubt about the correct
tightness, have them checked with a
torque wrench by your authorized dealer
or service station.
NOTE:
For the SRT model the correct wheel nut
tightness is 110 ft lbs (149 N·m).
5. After 25 miles (40 km) check the lug nut torque with a torque wrench to ensure that
all lug nuts are properly seated against the
wheel.JUMP-STARTING
If your vehicle has a discharged battery it can
be jump-started using a set of jumper cables
and a battery in another vehicle or by using a
portable battery booster pack. Jump-starting
can be dangerous if done improperly so
please follow the procedures in this section
carefully.
WARNING!
Do not attempt jump-starting if the battery
is frozen. It could rupture or explode and
cause personal injury.
CAUTION!
Do not use a portable battery booster pack
or any other booster source with a system
voltage greater than 12 Volts or damage to
the battery, starter motor, alternator or
electrical system may occur.
NOTE:
When using a portable battery booster pack
follow the manufacturer's operating instruc-
tions and precautions.
Preparations For Jump-Starting
The battery in your vehicle is located under
the passenger's front seat. There are remote
locations located under the hood to assist in
jump-starting.

FREEING A STUCK VEHICLE
If your vehicle becomes stuck in mud, sand
or snow, it can often be moved using a rock-
ing motion. Turn the steering wheel right and
left to clear the area around the front wheels.
Push and hold the lock button on the gear
selector. Then shift back and forth between
DRIVE and REVERSE while gently pressing
the accelerator.
NOTE:
Shifts between DRIVE and REVERSE can
only be achieved at wheel speeds of 5 mph
(8 km/h) or less. Whenever the transmission
remains in NEUTRAL for more than two sec-
onds, you must press the brake pedal to
engage DRIVE or REVERSE.
Use the least amount of accelerator pedal
pressure that will maintain the rocking mo-
tion without spinning the wheels or racing the
engine.NOTE:
Push the "ESC Off" switch (if necessary), to
place the Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
system in "Partial Off" mode, before rocking
the vehicle. Refer to “Electronic Brake Con-
trol” in “Safety” in the Owners Manual at
www.jeep.com/en/owners/manuals/ for fur-
ther information. Once the vehicle has been
freed, push the "ESC Off" switch again to
restore "ESC On" mode.
WARNING!
Fast spinning tires can be dangerous.
Forces generated by excessive wheel
speeds may cause damage, or even failure,
of the axle and tires. A tire could explode
and injure someone. Do not spin your
vehicle's wheels faster than 30 mph
(48 km/h) or for longer than 30 seconds
continuously without stopping when you
are stuck and do not let anyone near a
spinning wheel, no matter what the speed.
CAUTION!
• Racing the engine or spinning the
wheels may lead to transmission over-
heating and failure. Allow the engine to
idle with the transmission in NEUTRAL
for at least one minute after every five
rocking-motion cycles. This will mini-
mize overheating and reduce the risk of
transmission failure during prolonged
efforts to free a stuck vehicle.
• When “rocking” a stuck vehicle by shift-
ing between DRIVE and REVERSE, do
not spin the wheels faster than 15 mph
(24 km/h), or drivetrain damage may
result.
• Revving the engine or spinning the
wheels too fast may lead to transmission
overheating and failure. It can also dam-
age the tires. Do not spin the wheels
above 30 mph (48 km/h) while in gear
(no transmission shifting occurring).
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY

NOTE:
SRT vehicles and 4WD models without 4WD
LOW range should only be towed with all four
wheelsOFFthe ground.
Proper towing or lifting equipment is required
to prevent damage to your vehicle. Use only
tow bars and other equipment designed for
this purpose, following equipment manufac-
turer’s instructions. Use of safety chains is
mandatory. Attach a tow bar or other towing
device to main structural members of the
vehicle, not to bumpers or associated brack-
ets. State and local laws regarding vehicles
under tow must be observed.
If you must use the accessories (wipers, de-
frosters, etc.) while being towed, the ignition
must be in the ON/RUN mode, not the ACC
mode.
If the key fob is unavailable, or the vehicle's
battery is discharged, refer to “Manual Park
Release” in this section for instructions on
shifting the transmission out of PARK for
towing.CAUTION!
• Do not use sling type equipment when towing. Vehicle damage may occur.
• When securing the vehicle to a flat bed
truck, do not attach to front or rear
suspension components. Damage to
your vehicle may result from improper
towing.
Two-Wheel Drive Models
The manufacturer recommends towing your
vehicle with all four wheels OFFthe ground
using a flatbed.
If flatbed equipment is not available, and the
transmission is operable, the vehicle may be
towed (with rear wheels on the ground) under
the following conditions:
• The transmission must be in NEUTRAL. Refer to "Manual Park Release" in this
section for instructions on shifting the
transmission to NEUTRAL when the en-
gine is off.
• The towing speed must not exceed 30 mph (48 km/h). • The towing distance must not exceed
30 miles (48 km).
If the transmission is not operable, or the
vehicle must be towed faster than 30 mph
(48 km/h) or farther than 30 miles (48 km),
tow with the rear wheels OFFthe ground.
Acceptable methods are to tow the vehicle on
a flatbed, or with the front wheels raised and
the rear wheels on a towing dolly, or (when
using a suitable steering wheel stabilizer to
hold the front wheels in the straight position)
with the rear wheels raised and the front
wheels on the ground.
CAUTION!
Towing faster than 30 mph (48 km/h) or
farther than 30 miles (48 km) with rear
wheels on the ground can cause severe
transmission damage. Damage from im-
proper towing is not covered under the
New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
