D150336AHM4WD system warning light(if equipped) If the 4WD system warning light illumi-
nates, this indicates that there is a mal-
function in the 4WD system. If this
occurs, have your vehicle checked by an
authorized KIA dealer as soon as possi-
ble.
D150337AHM-EE4WD LOW indicator (if equipped)When the ignition switch is turned to the
ON position, the 4WD LOW indicator will
illuminate and then go off in a few sec-
onds. The 4WD LOW indicator illumi-
nates when the transfer shift knob is set
to the 4L(Low-speed 4-wheel drive) posi-
tion.D150337AHM-EE4WD HI indicator (if equipped)When the ignition switch is turned to the
ON position, the 4WD HI indicator will
illuminate and then go off in a few sec-
onds. The 4WD HI indicator illuminates
when the transfer shift knob is set to the
4H(High-speed 4-wheel drive) position.
D150338AHMKEY OUT indicator (if equipped)When the ENGINE START/STOP button
is in the ACC or ON position, if any door
is open, the system checks for the smart
key. If the smart key is not in the vehicle,
the indicator will blink, and if all doors are
closed, the chime will also sound for
about 5 seconds. The indicator will go off
while the vehicle is moving. Keep the
smart key in the vehicle or insert it in the
smart key holder.D150326AHM-EELights on warning chime (if equipped)The lights on warning chime will sound if
the driver's door is opened when the
headlight switch is left in the 1st or 2nd
position with the ignition switch removed
(for smart key, in OFF position).

Operation of the rear parking
assist systemD170101AEN-EUOperating condition This system will activate when backingup with the ignition switch ON.
If the vehicle is moving at a speed over
5 km/h (3 mph), the system may not be
activated correctly.
The sensing distance while the rear parking assist system is in operation is
approximately 120 cm (47 in.).
When more than two objects are sensed at the same time, the closest
one will be recognized first.D170102AUN-EUTypes of warning sound When an object is 120 cm to 81 cm (47in. to 32 in.) from the rear bumper:
Buzzer beeps intermittently.
When an object is 80 cm to 41 cm (31 in. to 16 in.) from the rear bumper:
Buzzer beeps more frequently.
When an object is within 40 cm (15 in.) of the rear bumper:
Buzzer sounds continuously.
D170200AEN-EUNon-operational conditions of
rear parking assist systemThe rear parking assist system may
not operate properly when:
1. Moisture is frozen to the sensor. (It will operate normally when the moisture
has been cleared.)
2. The sensor is covered with foreign matter, such as snow or water, or the
sensor cover is blocked. (It will operate
normally when the material is removed
or the sensor is no longer blocked.)
3. Driving on uneven road surfaces (unpaved roads, gravel, bumps, gradi-
ent).
4. Objects generating excessive noise (vehicle horns, loud motorcycle
engines, or truck air brakes) are within
range of the sensor.
5. Heavy rain or water spray exists.
6. Wireless transmitters or mobile phones are within range of the sensor.
7. The sensor is covered with snow.
8. Trailer towing The detecting range may decrease
when:
1. The sensor is stained with foreign mat-
ter such as snow or water. (The sens-
ing range will return to normal when
removed.)
2. Outside air temperature is extremely hot or cold.
The following objects may not be rec-
ognized by the sensor:
1. Sharp or slim objects such as ropes, chains or small poles.
2. Objects which tend to absorb the sen- sor frequency such as clothes, spongy
material or snow.
3. Undetectable objects smaller than 1 m (40 in.) in height and narrower than 14
cm (6 in.) in diameter.

the back-up light is ON with the ignition
switch ON and the shift lever in the R
(Reverse) position.
This system is a supplemental system
that shows behind of the vehicle through
the rearview display mirror while back-
ing-up.The rearview camera may be turned off
by pressing the ON/OFF button (1) when
the rearview camera is activated.
To turn the camera on again, press the
ON/OFF button (1) again when the igni-
tion switch is ON and the shift lever in R
(Reverse) position. Also, the camera will
turn on automatically whenever the igni-
tion switch is turned off and on again.
D180000AHMThe hazard warning flasher should be
used whenever you find it necessary to
stop the vehicle in a hazardous location.
When you must make such an emer-
gency stop, always pull off the road as far
as possible.
The hazard warning lights are turned on
by pushing in the hazard switch. Both
turn signal lights will blink. The hazard
warning lights will operate even though
the key is not in the ignition switch.
To turn the hazard warning lights off,
push the switch again.

HAZARD WARNING FLASHER
WARNING
This system is a supplementary
function only. It is the responsi-
bility of the driver to always
check the inside/outside rearview
mirror and the area behind the
vehicle before and while backing
up because there is a dead zone
that can't see through the cam-
era.
Always keep the camera lens clean. If lens is covered with for-
eign matter, the camera may not
operate normally.

REARVIEW CAMERA (IF EQUIPPED)

4D190100AHMBattery saver function The purpose of this feature is to pre-
vent the battery from being dis-
charged. The system automatically
turns off the exterior lights when the
driver removes the ignition key and
opens the driver-side door.
With this feature, the parking lights will be turned off automatically if the driver
parks on the side of the road at night.
If necessary, to keep the lights on
when the ignition key is removed, per-
form the following:
1) Open the driver-side door.
2) Turn the parking lights OFF and ON again using the light switch on the
steering column.
D190200AHM-EUHeadlight escort functionThe headlights and taillights remain on
for approximately 5 minutes after the
ignition key is removed or turned to the
ACC or LOCK position. However, if the
driver’s door is opened and closed, the
headlights and taillights are turned off
after 30 seconds.
The headlights and taillights can be
turned off by pressing the lock button on
the transmitter or turning off the light
switch from the headlight or Auto light
position.
D190300AHMRescue mode functionIf your vehicle has any problem on the
vehicle network system, the headlights
(low beam) turn on automatically with the
ignition switch in the ON position even
though the headlight switch is not turned
on. At this time, the emergency lighting is
not turned off when the headlight switch
is turned off.

Parking light position.
To operate the lights, turn the knob at the
end of the control lever to one of the fol-
lowing positions:
(1) OFF position
(2) Parking light position
(3) Headlight position
(4) Auto light position (if equipped)

light position (1st position), the tail,
license and instrument panel lights will
turn ON.

To flash the headlights, pull the lever
towards you. It will return to the normal
(low beam) position when released. The
headlight switch does not need to be on
to use this flashing feature.
D190600AHMTurn signals and lane change sig-
nalsThe ignition switch must be on for the
turn signals to function. To turn on the
turn signals, move the lever up or down
(A). The green arrow indicators on the
instrument panel indicate which turn sig-
nal is operating. They will self-cancel
after a turn is completed. If the indicator
continues to flash after a turn, manually
return the lever to the OFF position.To signal a lane change, move the turn
signal lever slightly and hold it in position
(B). The lever will return to the OFF posi-
tion when released.
If an indicator stays on and does not
flash or if it flashes abnormally, one of the
turn signal bulbs may be burned out and
will require replacement.
One-touch lane change functionTo activate an one-touch lane change
function, move the turn signal lever
slightly for less than 0.5 second and then
release it. The lane change signals will
blink 3 times.✽ ✽
NOTICEIf an indicator flash is abnormally quick
or slow, a bulb may be burned out or
have a poor electrical connection in the
circuit.

4D200100AHMWindshield wipers Operates as follows when the ignition
switch is turned ON.
MIST : For a single wiping cycle, push the
lever upward and release it with
the lever in the OFF position. The
wipers will operate continuously if
the lever is pushed upward and
held.
OFF : Wiper is not in operation
INT : Wiper operates intermittently at the same wiping intervals. Use this
mode in a light rain or mist. To vary
the speed setting, turn the speed
control knob(1).
LO : Normal wiper speed
HI : Fast wiper speed
✽ ✽ NOTICEIf there is heavy accumulation of snow
or ice on the windshield, defrost the
windshield for about 10 minutes, or
until the snow and/or ice is removed
before using the windshield wipers to
ensure proper operation.✽ ✽NOTICE• When you operate the wipers, if your
vehicle has a problem in any part of
the wiper operation system, the wiper
may operate in the LO mode regard-
less of the wiper switch position. In
this case, have your vehicle checked
by an authorized KIA dealer as soon
as possible.
• When the ignition key is removed, the wiper blade may sometimes slightly
move to reduce the deterioration of
the windshield wipers.
D200200ASAWindshield washersIn the OFF position, pull the lever gently
toward you to spray washer fluid on the
windshield and to run the wipers 1-3
cycles.
Use this function when the windshield is
dirty.
The spray and wiper operation will con-
tinue until you release the lever.
If the washer does not work, check the
washer fluid level. If the fluid level is not
sufficient, you will need to add appropri-
ate non-abrasive windshield washer fluid
to the washer reservoir.
The reservoir filler neck is located in the
front of the engine compartment on the
passenger side.

Map lampPush the lens to turn the map lamp on or
off. This light produces a spot beam for
convenient use as a map lamp at night or
as a personal lamp for the driver and the
front passenger.

ton is pressed. The light will turn off if the
button is pressed again.
The light comes on when anydoor (or tailgate) is opened
regardless of the ignition
switch position. When doors
are unlocked by the transmit-
ter, the light comes on for

long as any door is not
opened. The light goes out
gradually after approximately
30 seconds if the door is
closed.
INTERIOR LIGHT

4To activate the rear window defroster,
press the rear window defroster button
located in the center facia switch panel.
The indicator on the rear window
defroster button illuminates when the
defroster is ON.
If there is heavy accumulation of snow on
the rear window, brush it off before oper-
ating the rear defroster.
The rear window defroster automatically
turns off after approximately 20 minutes
or when the ignition switch is turned off.
To turn off the defroster, press the rear
window defroster button again.D220101AENOutside rearview mirror defroster
(if equipped)If your vehicle is equipped with the out-
side rearview mirror defrosters, they will
operate at the same time you turn on the
rear window defroster.
D220200AHMFront wiper deicer (if equipped)The engine must be running to enable
this feature. To activate the front wiper
deicer, press the front wiper deicer but-
ton. The indicator on the button illumi-
nates when the deicer is ON. The front wiper deicer automatically
turns off after 20 minutes or when the
ignition switch is turned off. To turn off the
deicer, press the front wiper deicer but-
ton again.
