WARNING
nRecharging battery
When recharging the battery, ob‐serve the following precautions:

•The battery must be removedfrom the vehicle and placed in anarea with good ventilation.
•Do not allow cigarettes, sparks, orflame near the battery.
•Watch the battery during charg‐ing, and stop or reduce the charg‐ing rate if the battery cells begingassing (boiling) violently or if thetemperature of the electrolyte ofany cell exceeds 49 °C (120°F).
•Wear eye protection when check‐ing the battery during charging.
•Disconnect the battery charger inthe following order.1.Turn off the battery chargermain switch.
2.Unhook the negative clampfrom the negative battery ter‐minal.
3.Unhook the positive clamp fromthe positive battery terminal.
•Before performing maintenance orrecharging the battery, turn off allaccessories and stop the engine.

•The negative battery cable mustbe removed first and installed lastwhen the battery is disconnected.
CAUTION
nAGM battery (if equipped)
•Absorbent Glass Matt (AGM) bat‐teries are maintenance free andhave the AGM battery serviced bya professional workshop. Kia rec‐ommends to visit an authorizedKia dealer/service partner. Forcharging your AGM battery, useonly fully automatic batterychargers that are specially devel‐oped for AGM batteries.
•When replacing the AGM battery,use parts for replacement from aprofessional workshop. Kia recom‐mends to visit an authorized Kiadealer/service partner.
•Do not open or remove the cap ontop of the battery. This may causeleaks of internal electrolyte thatcould result in severe injury.

nFuse replacement
•Never replace a fuse with anythingbut another fuse of the same rat‐ing.
•A higher capacity fuse could causedamage and possibly a fire.
•Never install a wire or aluminumfoil instead of the proper fuse -even as a temporary repair. It maycause extensive wiring damageand a possible fire.
•Do not arbitrarily modify or add-on electric wiring of the vehicle.
CAUTION
Do not use a screwdriver or any oth‐er metal object to remove fuses be‐cause it may cause a short circuitand damage the system.

CAUTION
•When replacing a blown fuse or re‐lay with a new one, make sure thenew fuse or relay fits tightly intothe clips. The incomplete fasteningfuse or relay may cause the vehi‐cle wiring and electric systemsdamage and a possible fire.
•Do not remove fuses, relays andterminals fastened with bolts ornuts. The fuses, relays and termi‐nals may be fastened incomplete‐ly, and it may cause a possible fire.If fuses, relays and terminals fas‐tened with bolts or nuts are blown,consult a professional workshop.Kia recommends to consult an au‐thorized Kia dealer/service part‐ner.

•Do not input any other objects ex‐cept fuses or relays into fuse/relayterminals such as a driver or wir‐ing. It may cause contact failureand system malfunction.
•Do not plug in screwdrivers or af‐termarket wiring into the terminaloriginally designed for fuse and re‐lays only. The electrical systemand wiring of the vehicle interiormay be damaged or burned due tocontact failure.
