Seat cushion height (for driver's side)
Pull the front portion of the control
switch up to raise or down to lower
the front part of the seat cushion. Pull
the rear portion of the control switch
up to raise or down to lower the rear
part of the seat cushion. Release the
switch once the seat reaches the
desired position.
Lumbar support (for driver’s seat, if equipped)
The lumbar support can be adjusted
by pressing the lumbar support
switch on the side of the driver's
seat. Press the front portion of the
switch to increase support, or the
rear portion of the switch to decrease
support.
Headrest
The driver's and front passenger's
seats are equipped with a headrest
for the occupant's safety and com-
for t.
The headrest not only provides com-
fort for the driver and front passen-
ger, but also helps protect the head
and neck in the event of a collision.
For maximum effectiveness in case
of an accident, the headrest should
be adjusted so the middle of the
headrest is at the same height of the
center of gravity of an occupant's
head. Generally, the center of gravity
of most people's head is similar with

Also, adjust the headrest as close to
your head as possible.
For this reason, the use of a cushion
that holds the body away from the
seatback is not recommended.Forward and backward adjustment
The headrest may be adjusted for-
ward to 4 different positions by
pulling the headrest forward to the
desired detent. To adjust the head-
rest to it’s full rearward position, pull
it fully forward to the farthest position
and release it. Adjust the headrest so
that it properly supports the head
and neck.Adjusting the height up and down
To raise the headrest, pull it up to the
desired position (1). To lower the
headrest, push and hold the release
button (2) on the headrest support
and lower the headrest to the desired
position (3).
WARNING - Headrest
removal/adjustment
Do not operate the vehicle with the headrests removed.
Headrests can provide critical
neck and head support in a
crash.
Do not adjust the headrest height while the vehicle is in
motion. Driver may lose con-
trol of the vehicle.

Removal and installation
To remove the headrest:
1. Recline the seatback (2) with therecline lever or switch (1).
2. Raise headrest as far as it can go. 3. Press the headrest release button
(3) while pulling the headrest up (4).

To reinstall the headrest :
1. Put the headrest poles (2) into the
holes while pressing the release
button (1).
2. Recline the seatback (4) with the recline lever or switch (3). 3. Adjust the headrest to the appro-
priate height.
Seat warmer (if equipped)
The seat warmers are provided to
warm the front seats during cold
weather. With the ignition switch in
the ON position, push either of the
switches to warm the driver's seat or
the front passenger's seat.
During mild weather or under condi-
tions where the operation of the seat
warmer is not needed, keep the
switches in the OFF position.
With the seat warmer switch in the
ON position, the heating system in
the seat turns off or on automatically
depending on the seat temperature.

Each time you push the button, thetemperature setting of the seat is
changed as follows :
When pressing the switch for more than 1.5 seconds with the seat
warmer operating, the seat warmer
will turn OFF.
The seat warmer defaults to the OFF position whenever the engine
start/stop button is turned on.CAUTION - Seat damage
When cleaning the seats, do not use an organic solventsuch as paint thinner, ben-zene, alcohol and gasoline.Doing so may damage the sur-face of the heater or seats.
To prevent overheating the seat warmer, do not place any-thing on the seats that insu-lates against heat, such asblankets, cushions or seatcovers while the seat warmeris in operation.
Do not place heavy or sharp objects on seats equippedwith seat warmers. Damage tothe seat warming componentscould occur.
WARNING- Seat warmer
burns
Passengers should use extreme
caution when using seat warm-
ers due to the possibility of
excess heating or burns. The
seat warmer may cause burns
even at low temperatures, espe-
cially if used for long periods of
time. The occupants must be
able to feel if the seat is becom-
ing too warm and to turn the
seat warmer off.
In particular, the driver must
exercise extreme care for the
following types of passengers:
1. Infants, children, elderly or disabled persons, or hospital
outpatients
2. Persons with sensitive skin or those that burn easily
3. Fatigued individuals
4. Intoxicated individuals
5. Individuals taking medication that can cause drowsiness or
sleepiness (sleeping pills,
cold tablets, etc.)

Air ventilation seat (if equipped)
The air ventilation is provided to cool
the driver’s seat during hot weather by
blowing air through small vent holes
on the surface of the seat and seat-
back. While the engine is running,
press the switch to cool the seat.
When the operation of the air ventila-
tion is not needed, keep the switches
in the OFF position.
Each time you press the switch,
the airflow will change as follows: When pressing the switch for more
than 1.5 seconds with the seat
cooler operating, the seat cooler
will turn OFF.
When the air ventilation seat is turned on, the seat may get cooler
after about 5 minutes.
Because the air ventilation uses the air in the vehicle, cooling effi-
ciency depends on the tempera-
ture of the air. In order to improve
cooling efficiency, use the air con-
ditioning system together.
The air ventilation seat defaults to the OFF position whenever the
ignition switch is turned to the ON
position.
CAUTION
The air ventilation seat is a supplementary cooling/heat-ing system. Use the air venti-lation seat when the climatecontrol system is on. Usingthe air ventilation seat for pro-longed periods of time withthe climate control system offcould cause the air ventilationseat performance to impair.
When cleaning the seats, do not use an organic solventsuch as paint thinner, ben-zene, alcohol and gasoline.Doing so may damage the sur-face of the seats.
Do not spill liquid such as water or beverages on the sur-face of the front seats andseatbacks, or the air ventholes may be blocked and pre-vented from working properly.

The seatback pocket is provided on
the back of the front passenger’s
seatback.
Rear seat adjustment
Headrest
The rear seat is equipped with head-
rests in all the seating positions for
the occupant's safety and comfort.
The headrest not only provides com-
fort for passengers, but also helps
protect the head and neck in the
event of a collision.

Do not put heavy or sharp
objects in the seatback pocket.
An occupant could contact such
objects in a crash. Heavy
objects in the front passenger
seatback could also interfere
with the air bag sensing system.
(Continued) Do not place materials such as plastic bags or newspapersunder the seats. The air ventmay not work properly as theair intake can be blocked.
When the air vent does not operate, restart the vehicle. Ifthere is no change, have yourvehicle inspected by anauthorized Kia dealer.

Carrying long/narrow cargo
Pull the armrest down using the
strap provided on the armrest. Pull
the cover down while pushing the
release lever down. Additional cargo
space is provided to accommodate
long/narrow cargo (skis, poles, lum-
ber, etc.) not able to fit properly in the
trunk when closed.

CAUTION
Make sure the engine is off,
the shift lever is in P and theparking brake is appliedwhenever loading or unload-ing cargo. The vehicle maymove if the shift lever is inad-vertently moved to anotherposition.
Be careful when loading cargo through the rear passengerseats to prevent damage tothe vehicle interior.
When cargo is loaded through the rear passenger seats,ensure the cargo is properlysecured to prevent it frommoving while driving.
Unsecured cargo in the pas-senger compartment cancause damage to the vehicleor injury to it’s occupants.
WARNING- Cargo
Cargo should always be
secured to prevent it from being
thrown about the vehicle in a
collision and causing injury to
the vehicle occupants. Do not
place objects on the rear seats,
since they cannot be properly
secured and may hit the front
seat occupants in a collision.
WARNING
When you use the strap provid-
ed on the armrest. Be careful
not to damage to the high volt-
age battery. Do not take off the
trim for the high voltage battery
when using the strap. If not, the
high voltage battery is damaged.
Further it may cause electric
shock or burns that can result in
a death or serious injury.
