•The Smart Trunk function will not
work if any of the following oc‐
curs:
-The smart key is close to a ra‐
dio transmitter such as a radio
station or an airport which can
interfere with normal operation
of the transmitter.
-The smart key is near a mobile
two way radio system or a cel‐
lular phone.
-An other vehicle's smart key is
being operated close to your
vehicle.
•The detecting range may decrease
or increase when:
-One side of the vehicle is raised
to replace a tire or to inspect
the vehicle.
-The vehicle is slantingly parked
on a slope or unpaved road, etc.

•When using an approved portablefuel container, be sure to place thecontainer on the ground prior torefueling. Static electricity dis‐charge from the container can ig‐nite fuel vapors causing a fire.Once refueling has begun, contactwith the vehicle should be main‐tained until the filling is complete.Use only approved portable plasticfuel containers designed to carryand store gasoline.
•Do not use cellular phones whilerefueling. Electric current and/orelectronic interference from cellu‐lar phones can potentially ignitefuel vapors causing a fire.
•When refueling, always shut theengine off. Sparks produced byelectrical components related tothe engine can ignite fuel vaporscausing a fire. Once refueling iscomplete, check to make sure thefiller cap and filler door are secure‐ly closed, before starting the en‐gine.

•DO NOT use matches or a lighterand DO NOT SMOKE or leave a litcigarette in your vehicle while at agas station especially during refu‐eling. Automotive fuel is highlyflammable and can, when ignited,result in fire.
•If a fire breaks out during refuel‐ing, leave the vicinity of the vehi‐cle, and immediately contact themanager of the gas station andthen contact the local fire depart‐ment. Follow any safety instruc‐tions they provide.

Check high beam assist system (if
equipped)
• This warning message illuminates ifthe high beam assist system has a
malfunction.
In this case, we recommend that you
have the vehicle inspected by an au‐ thorized Kia dealer.
Low fuel
• This warning message illuminates if the fuel tank is nearly empty.- When the low fuel level warning light is illuminated.
Add fuel as soon as possible.
Device in wireless charger (if
equipped)
If a smart phone is still left on the wire‐
less charging pad unattended, even when the Engine Start/Stop button is
turned to the ACC or OFF position, and
the instrument panel's one time driving information mode has finished, a warn‐
ing message will light up on the instru‐
ment panel.

CAUTION
•This system can only sense objects within the range and location of the sensors.It cannot detect objects in other areas where sensors are not installed. Also, small or slim objects, such as poles or ob‐jects located between sensors may not be detected by the sensors.Always visually check behind the vehicle when backing up.
•Be sure to inform any drivers of the vehicle that may be unfamiliar with the system regarding the systems capabilitiesand limitations.

Non-operational conditions of
parking assist system
Parking assist system may not
operate normally when:
1. Moisture is frozen to the sensor. (Itwill operate normally when mois‐
ture melts.)
2. Sensor is covered with foreign mat‐ ter, such as snow or water, or the
sensor cover is blocked. (It will op‐
erate normally when the material
is removed or the sensor is no lon‐
ger blocked.)
3. The parking assist button is off.
There is a possibility of parking
assist system malfunction when:
1. Driving on uneven road surfaces such as unpaved roads, gravel,
bumps, or gradient.
2. Objects generating excessive noise such as vehicle horns, loud motor‐
cycle engines, or truck air brakes
can interfere with the sensor.
3. Heavy rain or water spray.
4. Wireless transmitters or mobile phones present near the sensor.
5. Sensor is covered with snow.
Detecting range may decrease
when:
1. Outside air temperature is ex‐ tremely hot or cold. 2. Undetectable objects smaller than
1 m and narrower than 14 cm in di‐
ameter.
The following objects may not be
recognized by the sensor:
1. Sharp or slim objects such as ropes,chains or small poles.
2. Objects, which tend to absorb sen‐ sor frequency such as clothes,
spongy material or snow.

Power outlet

The power outlet is designed to provide
power for mobile telephones or other devices designed to operate with vehi‐
cle electrical systems. The devices
should draw less than 10 amps with the engine running.
CAUTION
•Use the power outlet only whenthe engine is running and removethe accessory plug after use. Usingthe accessory plug for prolongedperiods of time with the engine offcould cause the battery to dis‐charge.
•Only use 12V electric accessorieswhich are less than 10A in electriccapacity.
•Adjust the air-conditioner or heat‐er to the lowest operating levelwhen using the power outlet.
•Close the cover when not in use.
•Some electronic devices can causeelectronic interference when plug‐ged into a vehicle’s power outlet.These devices may cause exces‐sive audio static and malfunctionsin other electronic systems or de‐vices used in your vehicle.
•Refrain from using the heater orA/C if you need to use the multi‐purpose socket. If the heater orA/C has to be used simultaneously,have it to the lowest setting.

•Some add-on electrical equipmentwill induce electromagnetic inter‐ference. This will lead to subse‐quent malfunction or hinder goodreception of the Audio/Video andelectrical system.
•Always make sure that electricadd-ons are fully plugged into themultipurpose sockets. Insecurecontacts may lead to electricalmalfunctions.

Do not put a finger or a foreign ele‐ment (pin, etc.) into a power outletand do not touch with a wet hand.You may get an electric shock.

Features of your vehicle

USB charger (if equipped)

The USB charger is designed to re‐
charge batteries of small size electrical devices using a USB cable. The electrical
devices can be recharged when the En‐
gine Start/Stop button is in ACC/ON/ START position.
The battery charging state may be
monitored on the electrical device.
Disconnect the USB cable from the USB
port after use. • Some devices are not supported for
fast charging but will be charged withnormal speed.
• Use the USB charger when the engine is running to prevent battery dis‐
charge. • Only devices that fits the USB port
can be used.
• The USB charger can be used only for battery charging purposes.
• Battery chargers cannot be charged.
Wireless smart phone charging
system (if equipped)
A wireless smart phone charging sys‐
tem located in front of the center con‐ sole.
Firmly close all doors, and turn the igni‐
tion to ACC or IGN ON. To start wireless
charging, place the smart phone equip‐ ped with wireless charging function on
the wireless charging pad. For best wireless charging results, place
the smart phone on the center of the charging pad.
The wireless charging system is de‐
signed for one smart phone equipped
with QI per single usage only. Please re‐ fer to the smart phone accessory cover
or the smart phone manufacturer
homepage to check whether your smart phone supports QI function.
Wireless smart phone charging
1. Remove any object on the smart phone charging pad including the
smart key. If there is any foreign
object on the pad other than a
smart phone, the wireless charging
function may not operate properly.
2. Place the smart phone on the cen‐ ter of the wireless charging pad.
3. The indicator light will change to orange once the wireless chargingbegins. After the charging is com‐
plete, the orange light will change
to green.
4. You can choose to turn the wireless charging function to either ON or
OFF by selecting the USM on the in‐
strument cluster. (Please refer to

If the wireless charging does not work,
gently move your smart phone around the pad until the charging indicator
light turns yellow. Depending on the
smart phone, the charging indicator light may not turn green even after the
charging is complete.
If the wireless charging is not function‐
ing properly, the orange light will blink and flash for ten seconds then turn off.
In such cases, remove the smart phone
from the pad and replace it on the pad again, or double check the charging sta‐
tus.
If you leave the smart phone on the
charging pad when the vehicle ignition is in OFF, the vehicle will alert you
through warning messages and sound
(applicable for vehicles with voice guid‐ ance function) after the L

•The wireless charging will stopwhen using the wireless smart keysearch function to prevent radiowave disruption.
•The wireless charging will stopwhen the smart key is moved outof the vehicle with the ignition inON.
•The wireless charging will stopwhen any of the doors is opened(applicable for vehicles equippedwith smart keys).
•The wireless charging will stopwhen the vehicle is turned OFF.
•The wireless charging will stopwhen the smart phone is not incomplete contact with the wirelesscharging pad.
•Items equipped with magneticcomponents such as credit card,telephone card, bankbook, anytransportation ticket and suchmay become damaged duringwireless charging.

•Place the smart phone on the cen‐ter of the charge pad for best re‐sults. The smart phone may notcharge when placed near the rimof the charging pad. When thesmart phone does get charged, itmay heat up excessively.
•For smart phones without built inwireless charging system, an ap‐propriate accessory has to beequipped.
•Smart phones of some manufac‐turers may display messages onweak current. This is due to theparticular characteristic of thesmart phone and does not imply amalfunction on wireless chargingfunction.
•The indicator light of some manu‐facturers’ smart phones may stillbe yellow after the smart phone isfully charged. This is due to theparticular characteristic of thesmart phone and not a malfunc‐tion of the wireless charging.

•When any smart phone without awireless charging function or ametallic object is placed on thecharging pad, a small noise maysound. This small sound is due tothe vehicle discerning compatibilityof the object placed on the charg‐ing pad. It does not affect your ve‐hicle or the smart phone in anyway.
