Power Liftgate Open/Close Button*
Open: Press and hold briefly the A button for
approximately one second to open the liftgate
Close: Press and hold the A button until liftgate is
completely closed If the button A is released while closing,
the power liftgate will stop and a warning chime will sound
(But ton located to the left of Steering Wheel)
REMINDER: This control does not adjust brightness on the infotainment system screens Use the display set tings in the Setup menu to adjust the brightness on the screen

REMINDERS:

ESC is turned ON by default at vehicle star tup When ignition is cycled, ESC will turn ON again
•
The ESC Indicator Light in the instrument cluster will illuminate whenever the ESC is in operation
The ESC system is designed to help stabilize the vehicle during certain cornering maneuvers It is a good idea to keep the ESC turned ON for daily driving whenever possible
Press and hold the ESC button B turn ESC OFF/ON

With parking lights/headlights ON, press switch A (+) or (-) to
adjust the brightness of the instrument panel illumination

Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC)†6
HAC is designed to help prevent the vehicle from rolling backward when accelerating from a stop while on a steep incline HAC provides a 2-second delay before the vehicle may start rolling backward by keeping the brakes momentarily engaged even after you depress the accelerator
The HAC automatically activates during initial acceleration from a stop on an incline whether the ESC is OFF or ON but does NOT activate when the ESC has malfunctioned
REMINDERS:
•
HAC does not operate when the gear shift is in the P (Park) or the N (Neutral) position
•
HAC does not replace the need to apply brakes while the vehicle is stopped on an incline
•
In the event of HAC system malfunction, see an Authorized Kia Dealer for ser vice

Headlights & High BeamsHigh Beam Assist (HBA)
To operate:
•Rotate lever to change the Headlight function
•Push lever to turn High Beams ON
•Pull lever to flash Headlights / High Beams
AUTO Light* — When the light switch is in the AUTO Light position, the tail lights and headlights will turn ON/OFF automatically, depending on the amount of light outside the vehicle
High Beam Assist is designed to
automatically adjust the headlight range
by switching between high and low beams
based on light detected from other vehicles
and road conditions
To enable HBA , toggle the light switch to
the AUTO Light position and turn on the
high beams by pushing the lever away from

REMINDERS:
•
HBA will operate when vehicle speed exceeds 25 mph
•
If the lever is pushed away from you while HBA is operational, HBA will turn off and the high beams will be on continuously
•
If the light switch is switched to the headlight position, HBA will turn off and the low beams will be on continuously

Daytime Running Lights (DRL)
DRL may help others to see the front of your vehicle during the day The lights will be on automatically when the ignition or Engine Start/Stop button is ON and the headlight switch is in the AUTO position, unless one of the following occurs:
•Headlights are on
•Parking brake is applied
•Fog lights are on
•Engine is turned off
•Switch is in the OFF position
REMINDER: DRL only operates during the day time

To change how many times (3/5/7) the Lane Change Signal blinks, go to the User Settings Mode in the LCD Instrument Cluster and select Lights, then One-Touch Turn Signal

HomeLink® with Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror*†2
The HomeLink® Universal Transceiver is designed to connect to your garage door opener, electric gate, home lighting, etc The Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror is designed to help reduce glare coming from a vehicle’s headlights in the rear HomeLink® with Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror can connect to three electronic transmitters
REMINDER: Mirror indicator light will illuminate when automatic dimming is ON
Programming a New HomeLink® Button:
1 Press and release the HomeLink® Channel button A, B or C, you would like to program The HomeLink® User Inter face Indicator G will flash orange slowly (If it doesn’t, go to the steps of “Erasing HomeLink® Buttons” section on next page, and start over)
2 Position the garage-door opener remote 1-3 inches away from the HomeLink® buttons
3 While the HomeLink® User Inter face Indicator G is flashing orange, press and hold the garage-door opener remote button until the HomeLink® User Inter face Indicator G changes from orange to green
4 Wait until your garage door comes to a complete stop, regardless of position, before proceeding to the next step
5 Press and release the HomeLink® Channel button A, B or C that you’re programming If the HomeLink® User Interface Indicator G is solid green, HomeLink® is connected and should operate when the HomeLink® Channel button A, B or C is pressed If your device operates, programming is complete
–If the indicator light rapidly flashes green, firmly press, and hold the HomeLink® Channel button A, B or C slowly, for two seconds up to three times in a row, to complete the programming process Do not press the HomeLink® Channel button rapidly If your device now operates, programming is complete
–If the device does not operate, continue with step 6
6 At the garage door opener motor, (security gate motor, etc ) locate the “Learn”, “Smart ”, “Set ” or “Program” button This can usually be found where the hanging antenna wire is attached to the motor-head unit (see the device’s manual to identify this button) The name and color of the button may vary by
manufacturer A ladder and/or second person may simplify the following steps
7 Firmly press and release the “Learn”, “Smart ”, “Set ” or “Program” button You now have up to 30 seconds to complete the next step
8 Return to the vehicle and firmly press and hold the HomeLink® button slowly, for two seconds, up to three
times in a row Do not press the HomeLink® button rapidly As soon as you see the garage door start to move, stop pressing any buttons until a few seconds after the garage door has come to a complete stop, regardless of position At this point programming is complete and your device should operate when the HomeLink® Channel button is pressed

When the Smart Key fob is on your person and you are near the back of the vehicle, within close proximity, the hazard lights will blink and a chime will sound for about 3 seconds as an alert that the Smart Power Liftgate is about to open Then the alert system will blink and chime two additional times before opening the Smart Power Liftgate
The Smart Power Liftgate feature is off by default To enable the Smart Power Liftgate, go to Vehicle Settings* in the Infotainment System Press the SETUP key or onscreen button, then VEHICLE Select DOOR, then SMART LIFTGATE

All doors are closed and locked after about 15 seconds for the system to operate
•The Smar t Power Liftgate feature will not operate when:

The doors are recently closed and locked, and the Smar t Key is still detected after 15 seconds near the vehicle or within 60 inches of the door handles
-A door is not locked or closed
-The Smar t Key is in the vehicle

Press any but ton on the Smar t Key fob during the Detect and Aler t stage to deactivate the Smar t Power Liftgate function
•Ensure obstacles and people are out of the way of the liftgate

Panoramic Sunroof Operation
with Power Sunshade*
The sunroof operation is controlled through a multidirectional switch The ignition or Engine Start/ Stop button* needs to be in the ON position to operate the sunroof
To slide the power sunshade and sunroof:
• Auto Open: Slide the switch D backward to the farthest position and release
• Auto Close: Slide the switch D forward to the farthest position and release
To slide the power sunshade only:
• Auto Open: Slide the switch D partially backward to the first detent position and release
• Auto Close: Slide the switch D partially forward to the first detent position and release
To slide the sunroof (with power sunshade open):
• Open: Slide the switch D backward to the first detent position and release
• Close: Slide the switch D forward to the first detent position and release to close sunroof glass only Slide the lever backward to the farthest position and release to close sunroof glass and sunshade
To tilt the sunroof:
• Raise: Push switch D upward
• Lower: Pull switch D downward

REMINDERS: •
If the ignition is turned off with the Sunroof not fully closed, the Instrument Cluster LCD will display a warning message and a chime will sound for a few seconds •
Power sunshade needs to remain OPEN while sunroof is open •
Power sunshade cannot slide when the sunroof is in the tilt position or tilt while in an open or slide position •
Do not adjust the power sunroof or sunshade while driving This could result in loss of control of the vehicle •
When closing, be mindful of any objects or persons
• When doors are unlocked by the Smar t Key, the lamp turns ON for approximately 30 seconds
•
If your vehicle is equipped with the theft alarm system, the interior lights automatically turn off approximately 3 seconds after the system is in armed stage
•
Using interior lights for an extended period of time may cause bat ter y discharge
