Closing the hood
1. Before closing the hood, check thefollowing:• All filler caps in engine compart‐ ment must be correctly installed.
• Gloves, rags or any other com‐ bustible material must be re‐
moved from the engine compart‐ment.
2. Return the support rod to its clip to prevent it from rattling.
3. Lower the hood until it is about 30 cm above the closed position and
let it drop. Make sure that it locks
into place.
4. Check that the hood has engaged properly. If the hood can be raised
slightly, it is not properly engaged.
Open it again and close it with a lit‐
tle more force.WARNING
•Before closing the hood, ensurethat all obstructions are removedfrom the hood opening. Closing thehood with an obstruction presentin the hood opening may result inproperty damage or severe per‐sonal injury.
•Do not leave gloves, rags or anyother combustible material in theengine compartment. Doing somay cause a heat-induced fire.
WARNING
•Always double check to be surethat the hood is firmly latched be‐fore driving away. If it is not latch‐ed, the hood could fly open whilethe vehicle is being driven, causinga total loss of visibility, whichmight result in an accident.

•The support rod must be insertedcompletely into the hole providedin the hood whenever you inspectthe engine compartment. This willprevent the hood from falling andpossibly injuring you.
•Do not move the vehicle with thehood raised. The view will beblocked and the hood could fall orbe damaged.
