EMERGENCY
OPENING/CLOSING
If the switch does not work, the sun-
roof can be operated manually as fol-
lows:
❒remove the protection cap set be-
tween the two sun curtains;
❒take the Allen wrench provided
❒fit the wrench into A-fig. 102and
turn it:
– clockwise to open the sunroof
– counter-clockwise to close the
sunroof. To close
When in wide open position, press
buttonA-fig. 101for over half a sec-
ond to set the front pane to the
“spoiler” position; press the button
again to stop the sunroof at an inter-
mediate position; press button Aagain
and keep it pressed to close the sun-
roof completely.

If a cross roof rack is fitted,
the sunroof should be used
in the “spoiler” position
only.
Do not open the sunroof
with snow or ice to avoid
damage.
Always remove the igni-
tion key when you get out
of the car to prevent the sunroof
being operated accidentally and
constituting a danger to the people
left in the car. The improper use of
the sunroof can be dangerous. Be-
fore and during its operation en-
sure that any passengers are not at
risk from the moving roof either by
personal objects getting caught in
the mechanism or by being injured
by it directly.

The 2 button version (front power
windows only) does not feature auto-
matic lifting or lowering, while the 4
button version (front and rear power
windows) is equipped with automatic
lifting and lowering on the driver’s
side, automatic lowering on the pas-
senger’s side (also automatic lifting,
where provided) and automatic low-
ering only for rear power windows.
IMPORTANT With ignition key at
STOPor removed, the power win-
dows remain activated for about 2
minutes and are deactivated immedi-
ately the moment a door is opened.

Automatic continuous operation
(where provided)
Some versions feature four power
windows with automatic lifting and
lowering of the front window (driver’s
side) and automatic lowering only of
the other windows.
AButton for continuous auto-
matic opening and closing;
B-C-DButtons for continuous auto-
matic opening only.
By pressing one of the buttons briefly,
the window moves “in pulse mode”
and stops on releasing the button.

The switch controlling the corre-
sponding window is located on the in-
ternal armrest of each door.

Incorrect use of the power
windows may be danger-
ous. Before operation, always
check that no-one is exposed to the
risk of being injured by directly by
the moving window or objects get-
ting caught and dragged. When
leaving the car, always remove the
key from the ignition device to
avoid the risk of injury due to ac-
cidental operation of the power
windows.

PARKING THE CAR
Proceed as follows:
❒stop the engine and engage the
handbrake;
❒when on a slope, engage a gear
(engage first gear if the car is
faced uphill or reverse if it is faced
downhill) and leave the wheels
steered.
When parking the car on a steep
slope, it is advisable to also place a
wedge or a rock under the wheels.
PROLONGED parking with a wheel
on the pavement or steered against a
step should be avoided. Do not leave
the ignition key on MARto prevent
draining the battery. Always remove
the key when you leave the car.
HANDBRAKE
The handbrake lever is located be-
tween the two front seats.
Pull the lever upwards to operate the
handbrake.
Four or five notches are normally suf-
ficient to lock the car on flat terrain,
while nine or ten may be necessary on
a steep slope with the car loaded. IMPORTANT If this is not the case,
contact a Lancia Dealership to have
the handbrake adjusted.
When the handbrake lever is pulled
up and the ignition key is on MAR,
the instrument panel warning light
xwill turn on.
Proceed as follows to release the
handbrake:
❒slightly lift the handbrake and
press release button A-fig. 1;
❒keep button Apressed and lower
the lever. Warning light
xwill
turn off.
Press the brake pedal when carrying
out this operation to prevent the car
from moving accidentally.
IMPORTANT If the handbrake lever
tends to reach end of its stroke
(groove on the central console), con-
tact a Lancia Dealership to have the
handbrake adjusted.
