Low Fuel Level Indicator
The low fuel level indicator is cont roll ed by t he fuel level gage s oftware (s ee above). W hen t he vehicle ent ers power mode6, the low fuel i ndicat or is ill uminat ed in an amber color for a 3 s econd bulb check. If t he fuel level gage softwaredetermines t he low fuel indicator s houl d be i ll uminated, it flas hes t he indicator at a rate of 2 Hz for 5 seconds . The firstfl ash is accompani ed by a chime from t he ins t rument clus ter s ounder. After t he 5 s econd fl as hing period t he indi cat or willremai n i llumi nated unt il fuel is added t o t he t ank or t he vehi cle i gni ti on is swi tched off.
Parking Brake Indicator
The red parking brake i ndi cat or is i ll uminated on receipt of a medium s peed CAN bus s ignal from t he CJB. The s ignalori ginates i n t he parking brake micros wit ch, whi ch is hardwired to the CJB. The parking brake indicator wil l onl y i llumi nateif t he parking brake is appli ed and t he vehi cl e is in power mode 6.
Rear Fog Lamp Indicator

Front Fog Lamp Indicator
The front fog l amp i ndi cat or is i ll uminated on recei pt of a medium s peed CAN bus si gnal from the CJB. The indi cat or i sil lumi nat ed i n a green color i f the vehicle is i n power mode 6 and front fog lamp operat ion has been reques ted.
Adaptive Front Lighting System Indicator
The Adapt ive Front l ight ing Syst em (AFS) indicator i s cont rol led by t he AFS module. The AFS module i s hardwi red t o t heCJB, whi ch relays s ignals to the i nst rument clus ter over the medi um s peed CAN bus . When t he vehi cl e enters power mode6, the AFS indicator is ill uminat ed in an amber color for a 3 s econd bul b check. If duri ng AFS operati on a faul t is det ect ed,t he AFS indicator wi ll fl ash at a frequency of 2 Hz.
Speed Control Indicator
The s peed control indicator i s cont roll ed by t he ECM, which t rans mit s a s peed cont rol acti ve si gnal t o t he ins t rumentclus ter via the CJB. The indicator wi ll il lumi nat e i n an amber col or when the vehicle is i n power mode 6 and s peed cont rolis act ive.
Trailer Indicator
The t rail er indicator is cont roll ed by t he ins trument cl ust er on receipt of medium speed CAN bus si gnal s from the CJB.W hen a trailer i s connected t o t he vehi cle el ect ri cal s ys t em and t he t urn s i gnal indicat or s wi tch i s operated, t he CJBt ransmit s a s ignal to the ins trument cl us t er to operat e t he t rail er indicator. Low Washer Fluid Indicator
The low washer fluid indicator is il luminat ed on receipt of a medi um s peed CAN bus signal from t he CJB. The s i gnalori ginates i n t he low washer fl uid l evel s wit ch, whi ch is hardwired to the CJB.

Low Engine Coolant Level Warning Ind icator

OnNort h American Speci ficat ion (NAS) vehicles the rear l amp as s embly als o incl udes a side marker l amp. The rear lampas sembl ies requi re removal for bul b repl acement. Two reflect ors are mount ed in the rear bumper.
All vers ions of t he headl amps have impact res is t ant polycarbonat e l ens '. Removable covers at t he rear of t he headl ampsall ow for bulb replacement. The headlamps requi re removal for bul b repl acement.
The halogen headl amps have large complex surface reflectors to opt imis e t he beam patt erns i n l ow beam only. A hi ghbeam only refl ect or is l ocat ed on t he inboard s i de of the headlamp. Headl amp l evel ing on t he halogen headl amps ismanually adjust ed us ing a rot ary t humbwheel located i n t he li ght swi tch modul e which operat es leveling motors located i nt he headlamp.
The bi-functi on HID headl amps and the AFS headlamps us e a projector unit wit h a D1S xenon bulb whi ch operates i n bothlow and high beam. An addit ional hal ogen hi gh beam only refl ect or is l ocat ed on t he inboard s ide of t he headlamp.Headl amp l evel ing i s aut omat ic on t he HID headl amps . Front and rear hei ght sens ors are located on the Left Hand (LH)s ide of t he front and rear axl es. The rear fog lamp is l ocat ed at the bot tom of the rear lamp and us es a 21W bayonet fit ti ng bul b.
The rear fog lamp is controlled by the l ight cont rol module. W hen the i gni ti on s wit ch is i n t he ignit ion power mode 6 andt he li ght control modul e is in t he s ide l amp or headl amp pos it ion, the rear fog l amp s wit ch on t he li ght control modul e canbe pres s ed t o act ivat e the rear fog l amps . A rear fog lamp warning i ndicat or is ill uminat ed in t he i ns t rument clus ter whent he rear fog lamps are act ive.
Side Marker Lamp (NAS only)
The s ide marker l amp i s located i n t he outer part of t he rear lamp, adjacent to rear fog lamp and us es a W 5W wedgefi tt ing bul b.
The s ide marker l amp bulb, whi ch is fit ted i n a hol der l ocat es in an aperture in the rear lamp hous ing and i s rot ated t o l ockin pos i ti on. The s ide marker lamp is acti ve at all ti mes when t he s ide l amps are select ed on us ing t he li ght controlmodule. The s ide marker l amps wi ll als o be i ll uminated when the l ight cont rol module rot ary s wit ch is in t he 'AUTO'posi ti on and a 'light s on' s i gnal is received by t he CJB from t he li ght sens or.
HAZARD FLASHERS
The hazard flas hers are cont roll ed by a non-l atching s wi tch i n the cent re of t he inst rument panel . The hazard fl as hersoperate at al l ti mes when s elected and are not dependant on the ignit ion power mode.
W hen t he hazard flas hers are s el ect ed on, all of the front , rear and s ide t urn s i gnal indi cat or l amps operate as previous lydescribed and both left and right t urn s ignal indicators in the ins trument cl us t er al s o fl ash. The hazard warning flas hersfl ash at a rat e of 360ms on and 360ms off. W hen the hazard flas hers are act ive, t hey override any reques t for t urn si gnallamp operati on.
If a trail er i s fit ted, the trailer t urn s i gnal lamps wil l flas h at t he s ame frequency as t he vehi cle i ndi cat ors . The t rail erwarni ng indicator i n t he ins trument cl ust er wil l al s o fl ash. If a t rail er bul b i s defect ive, t he trail er warning i ndi cat or wil l notfl ash.
The hazard flas hers can als o be acti vat ed by a crash si gnal from the Res t raint s Control modul e (RCM). This i s received byt he CJB which act ivat es the hazard flas hers . The hazard flas hers can be cancell ed by changing t he i gni ti on power mode tot he auxi liary power mode 4 or t he off power mode 0 or t he cras h mode i s cancelled by the res trai nts control modul e.
LICENSE PLATE LAMPS
Two l icens e pl ate l amps are fi tt ed in the t ail gat e handle, above t he l icens e pl ate in t he upper t ail gat e. Each l amp us es a5W caples s t ype bul b.
The lamps are s ecured in the upper li ft gat e handle wi th int egral cl ips . The lamps can be released from t he handl e us ing as mall , fl at bl ade screwdriver. The l icense pl ate lamps are act ive at al l ti mes when t he si de lamps or headlamps ares wit ched on.
HIGH MOUNTED STOP LAMP
The high mount ed s top l amp i s located i n t he li ft gat e. Acces s t o the lamp i s by removal of t he upper li ft gate interior t rimpanel . Aft er releas ing t he lamp ret aining cl ips , the l amp can be removed from outs ide the vehicle.
The lamp compris es a pl ast ic hous ing wi th a red col ored l ens . The lamp is i ll uminated by a s ingle 16W caples s type bulb.
The high mount ed s top l amp i s act ivat ed, along wit h the tail l amp s t op lamps , when the ignit ion i s in ignit ion power mode6 and t he brake pedal swi tch i s acti ve (by pres s ing the brake pedal).
The high mount ed s top l amp and t he s top l amps can als o be acti vat ed by t he ABS when Hi ll Des cent Control (HDC) isact ive. A s i gnal on t he high s peed CAN bus from the ABS modul e i s pass ed t o t he CJB which s uppl ies power to the st oplamps .
SIDE TURN SIGNAL LAMPS
The s ide t urn si gnal l amps are l ocat ed in the front fender air vents . On vehicles from 2009MY , t he s ide t urn si gnal l ampshave cl ear l enses and orange colored bulbs . The lamps are clipped i nt o an aperture in the vent panel and can be removedby s li di ng rearwards and releasi ng t he front edge of t he lamp from t he vent .
The s ide t urn si gnal l amps use a 5W caples s bulb which is locat ed i n a holder. The lamps have the same functi onal it y ast he front and rear turn s ignal i ndicat or lamps and are operat ed by the left hand s t eering column mult ifunct ion s wit ch or byt he hazard fl asher s wit ch. The s t eering column mult ifunct ion s wit ch is onl y acti ve wit h t he ignit ion i n t he ignit ion powermode 6, t he hazard fl asher s wit ch is act ive at all t imes , regardl ess of t he power mode. W hen act ive, t he s ide t urn s i gnallamps will flas h at a frequency cycle of 360ms on and 360ms off. REAR FOG LAMPS
Rear fog lamps will only operate when
headlamp dipped beam, or Auto lamps are
selected. Press the rear fog lamp button to
switch on, press again to switch off.
ADJUSTING THE HEADLAMPS
Note: The headlamps must be removed in
order to change the beam pattern. See
CHANGING A BULB (page 77).
The tourist lever allows you to adjust the
headlamps to the correct beam pattern for
driving in countries where vehicles drive on the
left, or the right. When new, the lever will be set to the correct
position for the country in which the vehicle is
sold. To change the pattern for driving on the
other side of the road, move the lever to the
opposite position.
Note: When changing the beam pattern using
the lever, ensure that you change the lever
position on both headlamps.
HEADLAMP LEVELLING
Halogen headlamps
Use the headlamp levell ing control to account
for vehicle loading changes.
Xenon headlamps
Headlamp levelling is adju sted automatically if
Xenon headlamps are fitted.

CHANGING A BULB
General information
Note: In certain territori es it is a legal
requirement to carry spare bulbs. A
replacement bulb kit is available as an
approved accessory from your Land Rover
Dealer/Authorised Repairer.
Halogen bulbs
Halogen bulbs are used for main beam, dipped
beam, and front fog lamps. Take care not to
touch the glass part of the bulb with your
fingers; always use a cl oth to handle the bulb.
If necessary use methylated spirits to remove
finger prints. Xenon lamps
Seek advice a bout the correct
disposal of Bi-X enon lamp units
from a Land Rover
Dealer/Authorised Repairer, or your local
authority.
CAUTION
Alway replace bulbs with the correct
type and specification. If you are in any
doubt contact your Land Rover
Dealer/Authorised Repairer for advice.
WARNINGS
Replacement or maintenance of
Xenon lamps should only be carried
out by suitably qualified personnel.
High voltage is requi red to ignite the
gas and metal vapour which are used
to power Xenon lamps. Contact with
this voltage can cause serious injuries.
Bi-Xenon lamp units operate at a very
high temperature. Ensure that the
lamp units have cooled before
attempting to touch them.
Xenon lamp units contain Mercury
which is highly to xic, and can be
extremely harmful.

Side lamp and indicator bulbs
With the headlamp unit removed :-
1. Remove cover.
2. Twist the side lamp bulb holder and
remove it from the lamp unit.
3. Pull the bulb out of the holder.
4. Twist the indicato r bulb holder, and
remove it from the lamp unit.
5. Press the bulb into the holder, then twist it
and remove from the holder.Front fog lamp
1. Remove the trim from the fog lamp.
2. Undo the three retaining screws, and
remove the lamp unit.
3. Rotate the bulb holder (anti-clockwise)
and remove from the lamp unit.
4. Press the two clips together, and remove
the electrical connection.

Removing the rear lamp unit
In order to change a re ar lamp unit bulb, you
must first remove the rear lamp.
To remove the rear lamp :-
1. Undo, and remove the two retaining
screws.
2. Remove the lamp unit and disconnect the
electrical connection.
Rear lamp bulbs
1. Stop/tail lamp.
2. Direction indicator.
3. Reverse lamp.
4. Rear fog lamp.
All of the rear lamp bulbs are removed in the
same way.
• Rotate the bulb holder (anti-clockwise)
and remove from the lamp unit.
• Press the bulb into the holder, rotate it, and
remove from holder.
CAUTION
Do not place the lamp unit face down
on hard or abrasive surfaces. Doing so
may scratch the surface of the lens.

the vehicle's ignition, are turned off. If
