■Wireless remote control
Locks all the doors
Check that the door is securely locked.
Unlocks all the doors
Pressing the button unlocks the driver’s
door. Pressing the button again within
5 seconds unlocks the other doors.
Opens the windows and moon roof
(press and hold)

If the vehicle is equipped with a power
trunk opener and closer, the trunk lid
automatically opens fully.
Sounds the alarm (press and hold)

Smart Access System wi th Push-button Start
■Entering the vehicle
Grip the driver’s door handle to unlock the
door. Grip the passenger’s door handle to
unlock all the doors.
Make sure to touch the sensor on the
back of the handle.
The doors cannot be unlocked for 3 sec-
onds after the doors are locked.

The following operations can be performed simply by carrying the electronic key on your
person, for example in your pocket. (The driver should always carry the electronic key.)

■Exiting the vehicle
Touch the lock sensor (the indentation on
the upper part of the door handle) to lock
all the doors.
Check that the door is securely locked.
■Opening the trunk
Press the button.
If the vehicle is equipped with power
trunk opener and closer, the trunk lid
automatically opens fully.

Theft Deterrent System
■Engine immobilizer system
The indicator light flashes after the “START
STOP ENGINE” switch has been turned off
to indicate that the system is operating.
The indicator light stops flashing after the
“START STOP ENGINE” switch has been
turned to ACCESSORY or IGNITION
ON mode to indicate that the system has
been canceled.
■Alarm
The alarm uses light and sound to give an alert when an intrusion is detected.
To set the alarm:
Close the doors, trunk and hood , and lock all the doors. The system will be set automatically
after 30 seconds. The indicator light changes from being on to flashing when the system is set.
To deactivate or stop the alarm:
● Unlock the doors or open the trunk.
● Turn the “START STOP ENGINE” switch to ACCESSORY or IGNITION ON mode, or
start the engine. (The alarm will be deact ivated or stopped after a few seconds.)

Press the opener switch.If the vehicle is equipped with a power
trunk opener and closer, the trunk lid
automatically opens fully
Turn the main switch in the glove box off to
disable the trunk opener. On

the wireless remote control or the trunk
release button.
● From outside the vehicle

While carrying the electronic key, press the
button on the trunk lid.When all the doors are unlocked with
the power door lock system, the trunk
can be opened without carrying the
electronic key.

■Trunk easy closer (vehicles with power trunk opener and closer)
In the event that the trunk lid is left slight ly open, the trunk easy closer will automatically
close it to the fully closed position.
■ Trunk closer switch (vehicles with power trunk opener and closer)
Pressing the switch closes the trunk lid
automatically. (A buzzer sounds.)
Pressing the switch while the trunk lid is
closing opens the trunk lid again.

If the electronic key does not operate properly
■Unlocking and locking the doors
Use the mechanical key ( →P.1 4 ) i n o r d e r t o
perform the following operations:
Locks all the doors
Closes the windows and moon roof

Unlocks the door
Turning the key rearward unlocks the
driver’s door. Turning the key once
again within 5 seconds unlocks the
other doors.
Opens the windows and moon roof
