Rear turn signal lights
Open the trunk lid and
remove the cover.
Turn the bulb base counter-
clockwise.
Remove the light bulb.
When installing, reverse the
steps listed.
After installing the bulb base,
secure the cord with the clips
and install the cover in its origi-
nal position.

Back-up light
Open the trunk lid.
For the left side (vehicles
with power trunk lid only):
Pry out each side of the
trunk closer switch in turn
by inserting a screwdriver
into the base.
To prevent damage, cover the
tip of the screwdriver with a rag.
Remove the clips on which-
ever side you are replacing
and open the cover of the
trunk lid.
Turn the bulb base counter-
clockwise.

check that the warning light goes off.
Follow the correction procedures.

Refuel the vehicle.
Seat belt reminder light

front passenger to fasten
their seat belts
Fasten the seat belt.
If the front passenger’s
seat is occupied, the front
passenger’s seat belt also
needs to be fastened to
make the warning light
(warning buzzer) off.
Master warning light
A buzzer sounds and the
warning light comes on
and flashes to indicate that
the master warning sys-
tem has detected a mal-
function.

is not fully closed
If the vehicle reaches
a speed of 5 km/h
(3 mph),
flashes and a buzzer
sounds to indicate
that the trunk is not
yet fully closed.
Close the trunk.

closed (with the engine
switch off, and the
driver’s door open)
Close all the windows.

release tool and the screw-
driver from the trunk. (P.

Fit the parking brake release tool
into the screwdriver handle.
Vehicles with a spare tire: Take out the spare tire. (P. 788)
Vehicles without a spare tire: Remove the center auxiliary box.
(P. 802)
Remove the plug.
Insert the tool and press it
down firmly while turning it
counterclockwise until it
stops.

If the electronic key does not operate properly
Doors
Use the mechanical key
(P. 119) in order to perform
the following operations:
Locks all the doors
Closes the windows and
moon roof (turn and hold)

Unlocks all the doors
Opens the windows and
moon roof (turn and hold)

: This setting must be customized
at any authorized Lexus dealer
or repairer, or another duly qual-
ified and equipped professional.
If communication between the electronic key and vehicle is inter-
rupted (P. 130) or the electronic key cannot be used because the
battery is depleted, the smart entry & start system and wireless
remote control cannot be used. In such cases, the doors and trunk
can be opened and the engine can be started by following the pro-
cedure below.
