When trouble arises
■Warning message in radar cruise mode (if equipped)
In the following cases, the warning message may not be displayed even if vehicle-to-vehi-
cle distance decreases:
●When your vehicle and the vehicle ahead are traveling at the same speed or the vehicle
ahead is traveling more quickly than your vehicle
●When the vehicle ahead is traveling at a very low speed
●Immediately after cruise control speed is set
●At the instant the accelerator pedal is depressed
■Open door warning message
The open door warning message continues to display until a door or the trunk is fully
closed, even if the power switch is turned of f. However, approximately 20 minutes after a
door or the trunk is not fully closed, the 12-v olt battery-saving function operates and the
display turns off even though a door or the trunk is not fully closed.
■Warning buzzer
In some cases, the buzzer may not be heard because of noisy place or an audio sound.

• An attempt was made to lock thedoors using the smart access sys-
tem with push-button start while
the electronic key was still inside
the vehicle.
• An attempt was made to lock either front door by opening a
door and putting the inside lock
button into the lock position, then
closing the door with the elec-
tronic key still inside the vehicle.
 Retrieve the electronic key
from the vehicle and lock the
doors again.
Once
• When the doors were unlocked
with the mechanical key and then
the power switch was pressed, the
electronic key could not be
detected in the vehicle.
• The electronic key could not be
detected in the vehicle even after
the power switch was pressed two
consecutive times.
 Touch the electronic key to the
power switch while depressing
the brake pedal.
Once
An attempt was made to start the
hybrid system with the shift lever in
an incorrect position.
Shift the shift lever to P and start
the hybrid system.

Power was turned off due to the
automatic power off function.
Next time when starting the
hybrid system, operate the
hybrid system for approximately
5 minutes to recharge the 12-
volt battery.

When trouble arises
Once
The electronic key has a low battery.
Replace the electronic key bat-
tery. ( P. 3 7 7 )
Once
The driver’s door was opened and
closed with the power switch turned
off and then the power switch was
put in ACCESSORY mode twice
without the hybrid system being
started.
 Press the power switch while
depressing the brake pedal.
During an hybrid system starting
procedure in the event that the elec-
tronic key was not functioning prop-
erly ( P. 4 5 2 ) , t h e p o w e r s w i t c h
was touched with the electronic key.
 Press the power switch within 10
seconds of the buzzer sounding.

The steering lock could not be
released within 3 seconds of the
power switch being pressed.
Press the power switch while
depressing the brake pedal and
moving the steering wheel left
and right.

The power switch has been turned
off with the shift lever in a position
other than P or N.
Shift the shift lever to P.

If you have a flat tire
●Stop the vehicle on a hard, flat surface.
●Set the parking brake.
●Shift the shift lever to P.
●Stop the hybrid system.
●Turn on the emergency flashers. ( P. 3 9 2 )
Your vehicle is equipped with a spare ti re. The flat tire can be replaced with
the spare tire.

■If you have a flat tire
Do not continue driving with a flat tire.
Driving even a short distance with a flat ti re can damage the tire and the wheel beyond
repair, which could result in an accident.

■Using the tire jack
Observe the following precautions.
Improper use of the tire jack may cause the vehicle to suddenly fall off the jack, leading
to death or serious injury.
●Do not use the tire jack for any purpose ot her than replacing tires or installing and
removing tire chains.
●Only use the tire jack that comes with this vehicle for replacing a flat tire.
Do not use it on other vehicles, and do not use other tire jacks for replacing tires on
this vehicle.
●Put the jack properly in its jack point.
●Do not put any part of your body under the vehicle while it is supported by the jack.
●Do not start the hybrid system or drive the vehicle while the vehicle is supported by
the jack.
●Do not raise the vehicle while someone is inside.
●When raising the vehicle, do not put an object on or under the jack.
●Do not raise the vehicle to a height greater than that required to replace the tire.
●Use a jack stand if it is necessary to get under the vehicle.
●When lowering the vehicle, make sure that there is no-one near the vehicle. If there
are people nearby, warn them vocally before lowering.

Remove the center luggage mat. (P. 311)
Remove the spacer and take out the
jack handle from the reverse side of
the center luggage mat.
Take out the jack. For tightening
