CAUTION
■The multi-information display at low temperatures
Allow the interior of the vehicle to warm up before using the information display. At
extremely low temperatures, the informatio n display monitor may respond slowly, and
display changes may be delayed.
For example, there is a lag between the driver’s shifting and the new gear number
appearing on the display. This lag could cause the driver to downshift again, causing
rapid and excessive engine braking and possibly an accident resulting in death or seri-
ous injury.
■Cautions during setting up the display
As the engine needs to be running during setting up the display, ensure that the vehicle
is parked in a place with adequate ventilation. In a closed area such as a garage,
exhaust gases including harmful carbon monoxide (CO) may collect and enter the
vehicle. This may lead to death or a serious health hazard.
NOTICE
■During setting up the display
To prevent battery discharge, ensure that the engine is running while setting up the dis-
play features.

Operation of each component
■Changing the door unlock function setting
It is possible to set which doors the entry function unlocks using the wireless remote con-
trol. Turn the engine switch off.
When the indicator light on the key su rface is not on, press and hold or
for approximately 5 seconds while pressing and holding .
The setting changes each time an operation is performed, as shown below. (When
changing the setting continuously, release th e buttons, wait for at least 5 seconds, and
repeat step .)
To prevent unintended triggering of the alarm, unlock the doors using the wireless
remote control and open and close a door once after the settings have been changed. (If
a door or the glass hatch is not opened within 60 seconds after is pressed, the
doors will be locked again and the alarm will automatically be set.)
In a case that the alarm is triggered, immediately stop the alarm. ( →P. 74 )

■Alarms and warning indicators
A combination of exterior and interior alarms as well as warning messages shown on the
multi-information display are used to prevent theft of the vehicle and accidents resulting
from erroneous operation. Take appropriate measures in response to any warning mes-
sage on the multi-information display. ( →P. 5 2 8 )
When locking or unlocking the doors
The system can be operated when the elec-
tronic key is within about 2.3 ft. (0.7 m) of
either of the outside front door handle.
(Only the doors detecting the key can be
operated.)
When opening the glass hatch and locking
or unlocking the back door
The system can be operated when the elec-
tronic key is within about 2.3 ft. (0.7 m) of
the back door handle.

■Note for the entry function
●Even when the electronic key is within the effective range (detection areas), the system
may not operate properly in the following cases:
• The electronic key is too close to the
window or outside door handle, near the
ground, or in a high place when the doors are locked or unlocked.
• The electronic key is near the ground or in a high place, or too close to the rear
bumper center when the glass hatch is opened.
• The electronic key is on the instrument panel, luggage cover or floor, or in the door pockets or glove box when the engine is started or engine switch modes are
changed.
●Do not leave the electronic key on top of the instrument panel or near the door pockets
when exiting the vehicle. Depending on the radio wave reception conditions, it may be
detected by the antenna outside the cabin and the doors will become lockable from the
outside, possibly trapping the electronic key inside the vehicle.
●As long as the electronic key is within th e effective range, the doors may be locked or
unlocked by anyone. However, only the doors detecting the electronic key can be used
to unlock the vehicle.
●Even if the electronic key is not inside the vehicle, it may be possible to start the engine
if the electronic key is near the window.
●The doors may lock or unlock if a large amou nt of water splashes on the door handle,
such as in the rain or in a car wash, when th e electronic key is within the effective range.
(The doors will automatically be locked after approximately 60 seconds if the doors or
the glass hatch are not opened and closed.)
●If the wireless remote control is used to lock the doors when the electronic key is near
the vehicle, there is a possibility that the door may not be unlocked by the entry func-
tion. (Use the wireless remote control to unlock the doors.)
●Touching the door lock sensor while wearing gloves may prevent lock operation.
●If the door handle becomes wet while the electronic key is within the effective range,
the door may lock and unlock repeatedly. Place the electronic key in a location 6 ft. (2
m) or more away from the vehicle. (Take care to ensure that the key is not stolen.)
●If the electronic key is inside the vehicle and a door handle becomes wet during a car
wash, a message may be shown on the multi-information display and a buzzer will
sound outside the vehicle. To turn off the alarm, lock all the doors.
●The lock sensor may not work properly if it comes into contact with ice, snow, mud, etc.
Clean the lock sensor and attempt to operate it again, or use the lock sensor on the
lower part of the door handle.
●Fingernails may scrape against the door during operation of the door handle.
Be careful not to injure fingernails or damage the surface of the door.
●A sudden approach to the effective range or door handle may prevent the doors from
being unlocked. In this case, return the door handle to the original position and check
that the doors unlock before pulling the door handle again.
●Unlocking the vehicle may take more time if another electronic key is within the effec-
tive range.

■The moon roof can be operated when
The engine switch is in IGNITION ON mode.
■Operating the moon roof after turning the engine off
The moon roof can be operated for approximately 45 seconds after the engine switch is
turned to ACCESSORY mode or turned off. It cannot, however, be operated once either
front door is opened.
■Jam protection function
If an object is detected between the moon r
oof and the frame while the moon roof is clos-
ing or tilting down, travel is stopped and the moon roof opens slightly.
■Sunshade
The sunshade can be opened and closed manually. However, the sunshade will open
automatically when the moon roof is opened.
■Door lock linked moon roof operation
●The moon roof can be opened and closed using the mechanical key. ( →P. 5 5 8 )
●The moon roof can be opened using the wireless remote control. (→ P. 9 8 )
■Moon roof open reminder function
An alarm will sound and a message will be shown on the multi-information display when
the driver’s door is opened with the moon r oof not fully closed and the engine switch off.
■When the moon roof does not close normally
Perform the following procedure:
●If the moon roof closes but then re-opens slightly
Stop the vehicle.
Press and hold “ ∨” on the .

The moon roof will close, re-open and pause for approximately 10 seconds.*2 Then
it will close again, tilt up and pause for appr oximately 1 second. Finally, it will tilt down,
open and close.
Check to make sure that the moon roof is completely closed and then release the
switch.
